ARS / Rescue Rooter Ft. Walton Beach

Paul was a true professional. Calm, communicative, informative, and very polite. I cannot say enough good about ARS and their staff. Everyone is professional and courteous. I am buying a new AC Unit from them and everybody has been nothing but friendly and conscientious. Moreover, they are a preferred sub-​contractor for HomeDepot so I that should give you some peace of mind as HomeDepot would not align themselves unless the company was reputable. Paul is one of the best.

This company is BEYOND horrible. Called at 12pm to request same day service for a plumbing issue. They told me over the phone that they would have some one out after 2pm. The diagnosis would be no charge. They also told me that they would call 30 mins before they came out. I called them at 4pm to make sure someone was still going to be out, they said yes. At 8 pm no one had called, so I called them. They called dispatched to see when the tech was going to come out, and told me that since it was so late, he wasn’t going to be able to come now, but they can call the «after hours» guy, but he charges $ 120 an hour. WHAT!!! Are you kidding? Bait and switch? These people should go to jail. Please call a different company. Save yourself the headache. Does any body work anymore in this world? Lazy. Just plain lazy.

Atrocious! Avoid this terrible company!
During the summer of 2015 we contracted with ARS Rescue Rooter to install natural gas in our home. The installation was to include an on demand hot water heater, a drop for a gas stove, and connect a pre-​existing gas fireplace. The job was quoted at $ 5,000 and was scheduled to take 1.5 days.
On the first day of the installation a technician named Dave arrived and told us he had been with the company for a short period of time, he was a very experienced plumber but had never done a gas system. He began the installation and quickly ran into problems. He was working on running a gas line through the wall to the back of the stove. That wall is shared by the kitchen and my son’s bedroom closet. He repeatedly said «I keep hitting something» as he was trying to get the line to come out at the bottom of the wall. Our house was completed in November of 2006 and the builder is a friend of ours. We called him and he came over to confirm there were no cross members between the studs. Dave made multiple calls and eventually another technician came to the hosue. Finally they were able to get the line to the bottom of the wall. He came back the next day to finish the installation and placed a connection on the left side behind the stove, the cover plate for his first installation point can be seen in the bottom left of the picture. He then hooked the stove up but when he tried to slide the stove into place he realized it was hitting the flange that connected the stove to the pipe sticking out of the wall. He did not look at the stove before installation and assumed there was a recess on that side of the bottom of the stove. Dave again called a supervisor and they realized they had to move the drop location and order a new flange. Ultimately he moved the drop two times to complete the installation correctly. This job along with the hot water heater took over a week to complete.
In October of 2015 we were going through toys and clothes to get rid of in my son’s room. While in his closet I noticed mold on the trim molding, the wall, and the carpet. When I pulled the carpet out I located the area and called ARS to come repair the problem. ARS scheduled me for a repair between 8 – 12, but did not show until 1600 that afternoon. The technician (Jason Dubois), was polite and professional but did not think there was a leak in the location, he told me he went into the attic and did not see a water line in that spot. While he was there I began to remove the drywall in an attempt to see what the problem was. While removing the drywall I found a water line in the location where he said there wasn’t one. I removed an entire section of drywall between two studs to determine the length of the leak. The leak was isolated to a spot where the pipe runs through a stud. I discussed it with the technician who called his supervisor and said he did not think they caused the leak because the gas line was two studs over from the location of the leak. I pointed out to the technician that they were repeatedly jamming into something which was likely the copper water line. The location of the final installation has a stud between it and the leak which was two studs over, however as I then pointed out to the technician the first place they installed the drop was 20″+ closer to the leak and clearly there is not a stud between that location and the leak.
At this point the technician again spoke with his boss and they refused to accept responsibility and said they would have to charge me for the fix, his initial quote was $ 405.00, I believe my response was «That is BS, this is going to end up in court». The technician said, «Hang on, I am going to discount it for you and offered to the job for $ 95.00. At this point it was 6 in the evening and to get another technician was going to cost several hundred dollars for an after hours repair so I agreed. Jason went to his truck, I assumed to get his tools. He came back a few minutes later and said, «I spoke with my supervisor and because you said the «C» (court), word I can’t touch it, I have to leave. My general manager will call you in the morning. I was a bit speechless, so I said «to confirm you are going to leave with water running in my house» and he replied «yes, I have to answer to people». He then left. I ended up shutting the water off to the house and my family went to bed.
I heard nothing the next morning and called several times, each time I was told the manager was not in but he would call me, it has been several days and they have not called and the will not answer my messages. Ultimately I had to call another company to perform the work.
Finally, please don’t trust their Facebook site, I posted a negative review and they immediately removed it and blocked me.

BEWARE of ARS Rescue Rooter, they are a total rip off!
I just bought a house and I was in Home Depot on Fairfield in Pensacola, FL looking at paint when an ARS reps approached me about a special they were running, $ 19 to come out and look over your AC & Heat. I signed up and on Thurs, Oct 29, 2015 Mike S, the technician from ARS came to look over my AC, which I wanted to be sure had a clean coil as the previous owners had dogs. Mike said he had BAD news for me and showed me a «picture» of a coil filled with black mold! He said it’s so bad he called his supervisor, who just happened to be in the neighborhood, to come explain it to me. Tim Nations, Sr Technician, came by and they tag-​teamed me with their game, saying that even the compressor outside has dog hair in it and is deteriorating! AND, it’s very low on freon. I was shocked over this report since I thought my home inspector would have noticed some of this. I knew I needed the ductwork cleaned but all that was mind-​blowing. They quoted me $ 1,100 to have the ductwork cleaned (which I had a professional from elsewhere do for $ 400). They then quoted me $ 800 to clean the unit and stressed that there was no guarantee and they strongly recommended replacing the coil unit and the compressor to the tune of $ 5,000! I was so shocked I told them I’d get back to them. I then called a local AC business, All Seasons, for a second opinion and they sent someone right over. Chad from All Seasons was great, he opened up the system and showed me the coil which was clean and in great shape! He then checked the compressor outside and said that too was in good shape and it was NOT low on freon! I looked so shocked he asked what was wrong. I started telling him about how ARS informed me that the system was in BAD shape and needed to be replaced, he interrupted me and asked, Did they show you a picture of the coil? I said YES! He then filled me in on the SCAM that ARS throws at people! He said especially old people. WOW! I guess they figured, me being single, would be an easy target. I went to the Home Depot to alert the manager of the ARS scam and I have filed a complaint with the BBB! I sure don’t want anyone to fall prey to these weasels!

This company installed a brand new inner and outer a/​c unit. 6 months later it is blowing hot air and got te house up to 110 degrees inside. They might come out tomorrow if they have time. They were here yesterday and didnt look at anything, reset the circuit breaker and charged $ 190. THIS COMPANY IS A COMPLETE JOKE!

My AC went out during the night and I called ARS, the company that installed my New AC and heating unit in 2010. They set me up with an appointment the same day between 2 and 6 PM. Justin showed up about 3:45 and went to work as I watched. He quickley found that the «dual Run Capacitor’ was fried it was quit a sight to see. The coils were also extremly dirty so he cleaned those as well. System is now up and running. Justin did a great job and I will ask for him if I ever need help with my AC in the future.

Never on time. Never the same guy. ARS is the Walmart of ac/​plumbing.
I had a new ac unit installed at my house a few months ago. The instal guys were friendly. They made a huge mess which they did not clean up, but I had ac so that was nice. I was supposed to schedule a follow up service check. I scheduled it on an off day. I think my time frame was 8−1pm. Not only did they not make it their 5 hour time frame, but they didn’t get there until 4pm. That’s fine, I got my ac worked on so I guess it’s not a big deal that I spent my entire off day waiting for them. Last month, my ac stopped working. I made an appointment for someone to check it out. Same thing happened! Not only did I have to reschedule twice (because they couldn’t make it on time and I had to work) but they were late the third time too. Let’s fast forward. This is 3 months later. My ac is not working. I made an appointment for someone to be at my house from 10 – 2. It’s currently 3 and I still haven’t heard from anyone. I have to work at 4. Just wondering if I’m going to have to go the whole weekend without ac? I would not recommend this company to anyone. If you can’t make your appointment times, then you need to schedule less appointments or hire more people.

I had an appointment scheduled between 12:00 and 4:00. Made a call at 2:00 just to make sure i had the date and time correct and was told I would be contacted before 4:00. I was not. I would recommend another service provider.
Thank you for your prompt reply to my negative review. Unfortunately it is now an hour and 40 min after the end of the scheduled appointment time and I have not heard from your technician. You might want to invest more into the service you provide and less into maintaining your online reputation.

Kyle and Randy did a good job. While there were some internal communications issues within the organization, Kyle and Randy were johnny on the spot and did a very good job installing a filtration system in the house.
