True Value Hardware of Guerneville

I have a property in Guerneville and drive up from my house in San Jose about once a month to do improvements. I needed a construction-​grade wheelbarrow to move some drainage rock. I stopped by 1 Lowes and 3 Home Depots on the way up and NONE of them had the one I needed. Sure enough True Value had the exact one! They always are well stocked with pretty much everything you need!

This hardware store keeps getting better! In 11 years only twice was I not able to get what I was looking for. Both times Don ordered it for regular stock. And then thanked me a year later for the suggestion. Small town, incredible service and yesterday gave a generous gift of Contractor bags to volunteers cleaning up the river along with heartfelt thanks for the volunteers work. And now they carry my dogs food of choice!

Rarely do you find a place where the service and help is above and beyond even the best expectations. This place is awesome and Don and the rest of the staff are the best. Living in San Francisco for so long, you come to accept big box stores with big box half hearted service. Here, you get all the awesomeness of a small town business with price matching of the big box stores. Probably the biggest surprise was just how extensive their inventory and services are. If I could give 10 stars I would.

You know those stores that give a feeling of comfort & knowledge, they are far & few in between, but this is one of them. Don had helped me select a type wood to build bunk beds with, he was VERY knowledgeable & thorough when speaking. When we came back to purchase pet supplies for our new German Shep pup he also helped in this department. I’d like to thank people like him for taking the time with others to help. Thanks!

Rob hires only the best and most qualified people. Such cool people inspire loyalty from their customers. Now I only go to Home Depot if there’s an obscure item I can’t find in their store.

I was undertaking staining a large knotty pine wall to match an existing cedar log cabin wall… a bit daunting! Don spent a lot of time with me testing a variety of stains on the extra pine panel I had brought in. Luckily I had a piece of the cedar with me as well, in order to see which stain would work best. Don was incredibly helpful — not only did we find a stain we thought would work, but he also gave me a verbal «how to» tutorial. It was quite a process, but I started early the next morning (as he recommended), and by the end of the day the wall was done! I am very pleased with the outcome, and grateful for the patience and support of all the staff I’ve encountered here whenever I come in :-)

I was back in Guerneville this past week working on rental properties, and once again, the team at Dada’s True Value Hardware was there for us. Our family often takes it upon ourselves to DYI our projects, and trust me, we could not do it with out the know-​how, support and supplies from Robert and the team at Dada’s. The service is stellar, the place has everything you need, and the staff’s expertise is unparallelled. Thank you again!

I go to this store regularly, today I visited the store with a few questions. A older female employee could not answer my questions but referred me to a older male coworker that spoke fluent Spanish to my helpers and I on how to complete our project. Great store with excellent service!

The team at True Value in GV are so helpful and knowledgable. Don taught us an old carpenter’s trick that saved us from buying a really expensive piece of equipment AND it worked like a charm.

We have been customers of Dada’s True Value Hardware in Guerneville since 1982. We remember when the current owner, Robert Dada, was a local high school football star and has long since taken over the business from his father Ralph.
Robert has done a great job growing this hardware store into a ‘one stop shop’ for everything and anything you could possible need. If its not something you eat, they have it. If they don’t have it, you probably don’t really need it. From plumbing to propane, lug nuts to liquid gold, they’ve got it. They even have a huge new pet supply zone and a large lumber yard which is growing by the day. Before heading all the way into Santa Rosa for lumber, check them out and see what they can do for you. You will be surprised. The garden center has rooms full of equipment and supplies for everything yard. We have also utilized the equipment and tool rental quite a bit. Very reasonable rates with a large selection.
Now, over the years (and when they are super busy), there has sometimes been customer service issues. They have worked hard on that and it has really turned around. Dada’s is now kind of the ‘Cheers’ of hardware stores… where everybody knows your name and they’re always glad you came!
Big shout outs to Robert, Don, Devin, Bill, Keith, Sergio and Bode for all the great service and help they have provided us. You still can even catch the original owner, Ralph Dada, in the aisles helping out cause he just can’t seem to fully retire.
Don’t forget to sign up for a customer rewards account. Up to 10% saving depending on how much you buy per month. We pretty much land in the 10% zone all the time which helps a lot.

Man I love this place! They usually have what you’re looking for to get your DYI done, but the best thing about this hardware store is the small town feel, helpfulness, and knowledge that the employees bring to the store. Big thanks to Bill and Don for helping me out with my toilet plumbing woes. Very good folks! I will be a customer as long as I am living on or near the river in west county.

When we first moved up here I was concerned as to whether we would have access to tools and supplies for emergency repairs. I was also wondering whether we would have to go into Santa Rosa to crappy Home «Despot». Well, this store made both concerns disappear. They carry nearly everything I have ever asked for. They have much more storage space for supplies than the front would appear. They will match prices on the box stores and even rent tools. They have a large lumber yard behind the shop. They also give local Contractors a good discount and so feed back into our local economy.

I love this little place on the River. The people who work there are chill and super helpful. I’m in there regularly for «this and that», and I always get great customer service. Today I went in looking for a simple, yet elusive item, and a call for «a damsel in distress by the register,» immediately brought someone to help me. They absolutely know how to take care of their clientele.

Rob tirelessly works to help the community in providing what you need. I think they work harder to get your business than anyone I know of. Rob is constantly upgrading product and service expanding etc. Nice freindly local staff who reflect Rob’s extraordinary commitment to the success of his store and serving the community.
The world is a better place when businesses operate with integrity honesty and serve their customers and their employees. Dada is a good old fasioned hardware store. With good old fashioned customer service. They know that customer satisfaction is key.

Of the many local businesses in the Russian River Resort Area, this store has one of, if not the most, friendly, helpful staff. As a business that relies on local clientele as opposed to the majority which rely on tourism, they are far more pleasant than shops who need to be nice to garner customers. You cannot spend more than a minute in this store without an employee doing everything they can to assist you.
I previously had rated them 3 stars (5 for service & stock, minus 1 for hours and minus one for price point), but have added a star to their new pet feed selection, which they’ve clearly been working their behinds off to make happen and obviously take a lot of pride in. No more do we need to drive out of town to find high-​quality dog & cat food & supplies. They even have a great selection for caged pets and chickens. When planning their pet food selection, they solicited brands from their regulars and did their best to stock these brands. THAT is customer service at its finest. Mind you, some brands do not allow hardware stores to carry their lines, which is why you won’t see them here or at that place in Sebstopol. Regardless, they have carefully selected the high-​end alternatives you should be using anyway.
My initial concern was that given the location and the fact they’re the only store up here with these brands, the pricing would be too high and I’d still be driving to the feed stores. WRONG! They are actually cheaper on all prices (I researched the crap outta this) than the Sebastopol hardware place, the Sebastopol feed shop and the Fulton feed shop. THANK YOU SO MUCH, True Value! I cannot recommend this place more when it comes to pet food.
Hardware & lumber is slightly higher in price here than the mega-​corporate big box retailer, but when you consider travel time and gas, it tends to balance out.
Their garden supplies, seeds & plants are cheaper than anywhere in the county and they have a decent supply. Paint is cheaper, indoor gardening is cheaper & lighting is cheaper. As a matter of fact, it’s rare that they don’t have what you’re looking for at a decent price.
The trifecta of pricing, friendly & helpful staff & amount of inventory makes this store an example of what all RR businesses should be like. Maybe if the Main Street mom & pops were to follow True Value’s lead, we’d see less businesses going under and a higher tourist return rate.

I personally find that True Value is one of the friendliest stores in the Russian River area. The staff is well educated to assist you, and if the salesperson doesn’t know the answer, they find a staff person who does. Robert, (the store manager), goes out of his way to find products in my price range and I feel that I would rather save gas money then drive to Santa Rosa, Windsor for Home Depot which I never can find assistance on.
They also allow for business accounts which gives you greater savings and really helps out the small business owners such as myself. I am also impressed that if they are out of stock they will call other True Value stores or the manufacturers and find the equipment, hardware or tools that I need. Nice to see a small town store that cares.

Very Expensive, but what are you going to do if you can’t get it at Safeway?
