Parker’s Resort

We have a new campground in Guerneville. We’ve been coming over a couple of times a year for many years and staying across the river. Parker’s is our new favorite spot. The camp is lovely, with lots of grass and trees. Management is wonderful, very helpful and welcoming. The bathrooms are very nice and clean, the whole camp looks cared for. I appreciated the little touches, pokers for the campfire pits, organized bins for trash and all types of recycling, and clean picnic tables. It is a brief walk across the pedestrian bridge to the shops and restaurants of downtown Guerneville. We really enjoyed our stay and look forward to a return trip soon.

Highly recommend! The staff was welcoming and hospitable. This is our new spot since Johnson’s Beach doesn’t allow trailers. The bathroom are clean and spacious. Super hot showers. A short walk to town makes this the perfect campground.

My son, dog, and I showed up here for my son’s first camping trip with his best friend and best friend’s family. We drove 2hrs, car all packed, ready for a fun-​filled weekend of family fun. Well that all came to a halt around 7pm on 6÷2÷2016. As we entered we were less than greeted by a woman on the balcony looking down into our car. First thing she saw was my dog in the front seat and told us we can’t camp there. She repeated over and over how my dog «looks like an aggressive breed» and how my dog «looks like a pit bull» and that her boss will flip out if I camp there with her, and how it says no pit bulls all over there website. I tried explaining that she is a french bulldog/​English bulldog mix and she isn’t aggressive in anyway. Did it matter, not at all. Did she make an effort to come down and see her or meet with her, not at all. My son was crushed, his camping trip had ended all because someone decided to discriminate against our dog and he didn’t fully understand that at 7yrs old. It was extremely frustrating that because my dog looks a certain way we weren’t allowed to camp. Mind you my dog is fit with a wide muscular build, but she is under 50lbs and you can clearly see the frenchie in her. I bring my dog everywhere, she is family and not once have I ever had an issue with being turned away over her looks. She is constantly complimented at restaurants we go to, and isn’t even the barking type. 4hrs round trip, all because my dog was discriminated against left a bad taste in my mouth. I can’t recommend this place nor will I ever come back even without my dog.

I love love love this campground. Best spot in all of Guerneville to me. Managers are cool. Big beautiful lawns and wonderful bathrooms. Also it’s near downtown and big beautiful trees. I absolutely love it here. One request, can the manager not drive around his loud go cart so much. Small thing but it’s nice to have peace and quiet. We’ll be back soon!

my cousin and I decided to camp when we spent the day at Russian river, so last minute we came here and couldn’t have been happier. the property is amazing, the campsites are close together though so if you’re looking to be more in the wilderness this is more of a community. very clean and they have showers and great bathrooms for camping. the best part was the costumer service. the couple that runs the place were so sweet to us, we forgot our stakes for the tent and they offered us some that had been left behind by other campers and even let us use their air mattress. the woman was so sweet and very motherly, made the whole place feel like family vibe. we will definitely be going back there!

I’ve been coming to Parker’s Resort for four years and had always had a good experience. Recently, things have changed and were supposed to be better with improvements. I arrived hoping to see clean bathrooms, and a usable kitchen. However, I was very disappointed in the «up grades». The bathrooms are worse then they were before! No toilet paper or paper towels, and very little cleaning of the bathrooms. The bathrooms were supposed to be remodeled. They aren’t painted and the spackling looks horrible. The kitchen is not functional. It’s dirty. The stoves were filthy! covered in grime and grease. There isn’t a proper cutting board and I just decided to forget using the kitchen in fear that there were too many germs– $ 80 additional kitchen use??? I don’t understand the price increase at all. The campsite was clean and functional and I hope that the management at Parkers Resort will clean up the bathrooms and repair the kitchen or lower the cost for bare bones camping.

My wife and I got married at Parker’s Resort in June, and had the most weekend of our lives. We booked the weekend about 10 months in advance and made many trips up from the Bay Area to map out our rehearsal party/​ceremony/​reception (all of which happened on site over the course of the weekend). We were always treated kindly and were given all kinds of space and freedom to create our ideal wedding.
Parkers is a beautiful spot with big green open spaces, and an amazing redwood grove on the banks of the Russian River. If you’re thinking about renting the whole place for a weekend for an event — it’s a bit of a (beautiful) blank canvas, which happened to be perfect for us. Rich (owner) is very, very friendly and laid back and doesn’t slap you with a bunch of rules and restrictions. He gave us the freedom to decorate the place as we wanted and wasn’t there telling us what we couldn’t do. This was so very much appreciated, and it enabled us to do things the way we wanted. This is a rarity in the wedding site world.
If you’re looking for a beautiful place to have a camping wedding, look no further. Every other place we looked in to had 101 rules and restrictions and curfew etc. Parker’s was quite the opposite, and we feel so fortunate to have found the perfect place to tie the knot.

Horribly run, good luck getting a hold of anyone from the office. The place is run down, bathrooms were filthy. RV spots are either on top of each other or at such an angle you’d
bring your own bulldozer to get a level spot. Don’t waste your money. Won’t be coming back here.

My friends and family have been going here for more years than we can count. This year we found the place in the best shape we have ever seen it in. The campsites were groomed. Extra bathrooms all redone. Hot water for days. The new managers treated us like old friends. The same charm that has us coming back year after year is still there but now they have a ice machine. We even got a personal visit from the owner to make sure all our needs were met.

To everyone. Just so you know, I’m a long time camper at Parkers Resort and just experienced my first bad thing. We all know Louise and Carlos are gone and replaced by Beth and Roy as the new managers. There are now strick rules.
When I first met Beth and Roy on the phone and they explained they are the new sherries in town, they explained they are too busy all the time to answer your phone calls. So it’s best if you email. Well I emailed and still haven’t gotten a response. So I called days later and Roy picked up (shock!!).he explained we couldn’t email me back cuz we had 1200 people here bla bla bla. There ‘s only me and Beth bla bla bla. I said well what do the people have to do with you? They rent their spots and that’s it. Unless your at the parties and preoccupied by that I guess yeah you couldn’t find time to call back or email. So he went rounds with me about how busy they both are. When I first initially called, he was irritated already He was short with me, he never let me say what I called for, instead he did all the talking when I’m the one that made the phone call. So I never got my point across. He got more frustrated cuz I was trying to interrupt so I can speak, he said he didn’t have time for this and he HUNG UP ON ME!!! When he never even listened to a word I had to say! I said wow! I thought to myself Louise and Carlos were the only two running the place when they were there, they were ALWAYS nice on the phone and nice when we arrived there. This clown can’t handle his job! And needs to learn that customers are the reason he has that job in the first place! And most of all, he needs to take manager classes and learn how to be polite and patient. It also wouldn’t hurt if he would let others talk. So people. Good luck in contacting them, cuz they are So busy, (BS they just can’t handle the place) and watch out for ROY, he’s got a short rude fuse!!!

A campground on the Russian River, for years it had a couple of custodians that were very laid-​back. Well, apparently not the case this year, the two prior custodians were let go and there are a new team on site.
When we checked in everyone was very nice and cordial, but apparently friends of ours didn’t have such a warm greeting upon checking in. They said they were met by an angry man and it was all over a positioning of a trailer in the park. Our friends stated they were met with rudeness and then the argument about location of the trailer occurred. We, on other hand had a smooth check in and out.
They do have a lot of rules they want you to acknowledge. I felt the rules were no more than what other campgrounds want you to follow. Here is a campground with same problem with others campgrounds that allow dogs. The problem is that the dogs owners allow the dogs run off leash unsupervised and thus pooping everywhere and since no one is watching the dogs, no one is cleaning it up. There are also the Kids riding through your camping area on bicycles screaming with no helmets. We saw one kid careening out-​of-​control down a grassy embankment and hit a truck that was parked. The kid started screaming bloody murder and since the parents were nowhere around, the owners of the truck now had also deal with the screaming kid and the dent in their truck… Nice. They do sell ice and you can rent out fire pits and purchase wood and they deliver it to your campsite. No outside fire pits or outside wood is allowed to be used within the park
I was at this resort for fourth of July and you would think the holiday weekend they would have more trash cans and available restrooms. They have Porta potty’s hidden throughout the resort. Only two flush toilets and four showers. So in the mornings and late afternoons there are lines lines lines to use the showers and to use the flush toilets.
Parkers provides electrical and water. 30 amp service on some sites and 110 on others but no dumping station available

Friends and I camped at Parker’s campground last year when canoeing one weekend on the Russian River. It’s a beautiful site located within easy walking distance of Guerneville.
The managers seem a little «out of it» and are not good about returning messages, but it all worked out.
The bathrooms were are clean during the weekend that we were there in July. I would stay here again. I hope the communication with the managers improves.

Easy trails to the water right across from Johnsons beach so easy access to rental water equipment.
Plenty of games available to set up and play.
A easy walk to play land maybe 10 minutes .
Very clean and under new management.

This resort is rife with issues. You can hear the homeless people yelling all night down the river. They say they have river access however it is a muddy path that leads to an algae filled pool in front of the river damn. The river isn’t visible from the campground. There are only two toilet/​shower combos that are usually dirty and the wait is always long. The electrical is spotty. They new managers are extremely rude and completely lack customer relation skills.
We’ve stayed here prior due to the ease in and out and accessibility to town and for that it gets the one star.

We just returned from a weekend at Parker’s Resort camping in our RV and we loved it so much that we rebooked for another upcoming weekend before we left. The property managers have clearly invested a lot of time and energy into creating the lovely, park like setting we enjoyed so much. The redwood grove right by the river, where several tent spots are available, is absolutely breathtaking. For just $ 10 they delivered a fire pit and a huge bunch of firewood to our campsite, which kept us warm when the temperatures dipped in the evening. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our time together, and can’t wait to go back in just a few weeks!

Family and friends came in from all over to camp with us for our Wedding weekend in May 2014 and got married in the grove. Gorgeous, peaceful place, clean bathrooms and hot showers… what else could you ask for?
Everyone who came, raved about how awesome it was. So much so that an anniversary/​reunion camping trip was in the works BEFORE we even left.
Close enough to town if anything is needed, but secluded enough to just chill and relax. Can’t wait to go back and do it again… and neither can our friends and family!

Was there in May 2014, for Sonoma Pride. This was my first time at Parker’s Resort, and the town of Guerneville. Upon entering the grounds, I entered the office and was greeted by the manager who was cordial and pleasant. I felt welcome and was treated hospitably by everyone there. The grounds are lovely, in a park like setting, next to the Russian River. The facilities, bathrooms and showers, were clean and well stocked, one in particular, was very large and I never ran out of hot water. It’s a short walk to downtown, shopping, a major grocery store, and the bars.
I stayed there for three nights. It was very peaceful and relaxing. In at least one of the reviews it was suggested that the management at the park was high. I can’t attest to that, but I understand if they were. The resort grounds, the breathtakingly beautiful redwood trees, the river, the quaint little town, the friendly shop owners, the people in the bars and on the streets. I found it all very intoxicating. It is a fun place to hang out. I love Parker’s Resort. I can’t wait to get back there.

On the plus side, the campsites are great — lots of trees and shade. The campers are generally nice people and there’s a beach on the river.
The minuses:
4 showers. Plenty of hot water but just the 4 for the entire campground.
2 toilets both of which are located in two of the shower rooms and somehow never have toilet paper or paper towels or regular cleaning — if you need to poo and someone is showering then plan to squeeze it in or brave the porta potties.
The porta potties. Filthy. Piss covering every surface. Filled to the brim with excrement. And I do mean filled to the brim. The service card inside says they were serviced ⁷⁄₃. Today is 7÷5…
The stoned hippy managers (owners?) S T O N E D all the time. All day every day. Knock on the office door and get a buzz when the door is opened. And attitude. From a stoner.
So bring toilet paper, paper towels, Clorox wipes and bleach spray and have a good time! And get a tetanus shot. Just in case.
