Established in 2011.

Our life long passion on wine making became a reality in 2011 when we opened the first winery in Grover Beach. In 2013 Monarch Grove Winery Tasting Room opened at the Amtrak train station at 180 Hwy One in Grover Beach. Inspired by the Monarch Butterflies that spend the winter with us on the Central Coast, we hope you will be changed for the better by our hand crafted small production artisan wines.

Excellent place to go wine tasting! A bit unconventional next to the train station, but highly memorable! The proprietor was very knowledgeable and helpful, lots of great wines and information. We got a great deal on a groupon, and enjoyed every wonderful sip of delicious wine and snacks. My friend and I each ended up getting a bottle to enjoy at home. Was a great way to spend an afternoon sampling the varietals of the region. High Recommend!

The proprietors are a very nice couple. They offer a standard flight for $ 5, or one w/​cheese and crackers for $ 10. I wasn’t wowed by the wines, but they offer a flight of wines that are reasonably priced. Bought a few bottles for $ 10 a piece.

Just left the tasting room with my wife. We had a wonderful time. Joe is an awesome host and fabulous wine maker. All of his wines tasted amazing. We purchased — and I recommend you do the same — the Zinfandel, Cabernet and also picked up a Malbec. Tucker, the über friendly door greeter was a wonderful staff addition!

Fantastic wines! Must admit, being next to a train station, wasn’t expecting much, but WOW, really great wines and very reasonably priced! The Old Vine Zin is a steal and the Tempranillo is tasty treat. Not a winery listed on any of the wine trails, and certainly not part of the «wine tasting region» but well worth the visit if you are in Grover Beach.

Monarch winery is one of my two favorite places to go. The husband and duo are amazing! So sweet, they love their wines they pour and can tell you so much about what your tasting and what their inspiration was for that particular wine. The prices for bottles are insanely affordable and tastings are $ 5! So great!

Monarch Grove was excellent. I had a wonderful time wine tasting with fiancé and friends! The selection of whites and reds seemed endless. The music playlist made the ambiance of the wine room peaceful and easy going. Originally purchased the deluxe tasting on Groupon. Next time I’m in the area, I’ll be coming in for sure. Great work monarch grove!

We stopped by here when my husband was on his way home via Amtrak. We were greeted by the most amazing owner Joe. He was so kind and personable and made it seem like we were right at home. We enjoyed a $ 5 wine flight. 5 wines for $ 5! They were all yummy and well made at his personal Vineyard. You MUST stop by and have a visit with Joe and his dog Tucker. This is a hidden gem!

This is a really great spot to wine taste. $ 5 or $ 10 for a tasting, highly recommend the $ 10! Super friendly staff, owners are very involved and are super helpful! I’m visiting from San Francisco and they made my visit very memorable. Great selection of wines!

This place was wonderful! Small tasting room, the owners were friendly and helpful and the patrons were wonderful. We chatted with some women who were part of the wine club and they were such loyal patrons they almost convinced us to join! Definitely worth a stop in!

We stopped here while driving up the 101 and it was a pleasant surprise. Joe, who is the winemaker, was also pouring the wines in the tasting room. It is a hidden gem at the Amtrak station. I particularly loved the GSM blend and Riesling. After spending a weekend in Paso Robles, the best wines and most memorable experience was at Monarch Grove Tasting Room!

Stopped by for the first time on a Monday afternoon a couple of weeks ago. We live near by and had been wanting to visit for awhile. Glad we finally did! Great wine and Joe was a great host. I’m a red wine girl, and the GSM blend was fabulous! I encourage others to stop by and support this local business!!!

Visited Monarch Grove tasting room to find Joe the winemaker behind the bar ready to serve us. He was very attentive and gave us a wine, cheese, cookie and chocolate tasting! Can’t go wrong! Wines were very good with GMS and Zinfandel being our favorite. The wine club is 4 bottles twice a year and so we joined the club! Can’t wait to come back for the winery events! P. S. We also bought garlic veggie chips, and awesome corn nuts that we sampled!

My girlfriend and I were in town vacationing and she had bought a group on for wine tasting here. We had a blast! The owner was super friendly and seemed very knowledgable about all types of brewing. We loved all of the wines and had a great time! Definently will be back here again any time I visit Pismo Beach!

Love the wines at monarch grove! My fav is their Zin, the hubby prefers the rvg white blend and Viognier. I have to make myself not visit too often because I always leave with at least half a case!
