Established in 1989.

Cathy started out in Interior Design in S. California in the

early 80’s. Moved back up to Central California where she

was raised and specialized in window coverings at that

time. We carry a wide variety of manufacturers to be

competitive in the market. Especially in Poly/​Wood custom

shutters.

Sierra Window Treatments has been a mom/​pop

business from the beginning. Cathy started the business

with her fiancée, whom passed away almost 7 years ago.

The business has stayed busy, she keeps the pricing down

by being homebased. Which means her and the installers are

on the road 90% of the time either installing or selling.

Since Cathy has been in the business for so many years, she

has a huge repeat business and referrals as well.

I want to emphasize Sri’s experience as they matches exactly our story/experience…partial completion, no return phone calls, missed committed appointments. We were really taken aback as she has a very engaging personality and appeared to be very professional. Who acts in a way to absolutely discourage further commerce as we wanted to use her services for both of our homes (Fremont/​Copperopolis). I’d started to post a relatively benign «Missing in Action» post on Unilocal until seeing a shared experience as Sri.
Like FB could use an Unlike feature, Unilocal should consider perhaps a red color symbol.

Being first time home buyers, we decided to go with Cathy as most of them in our neighborhood in Mountain House CA had placed orders with her. Unfortunately, She has failed to deliver. Our house is left with half of our living room with temporary shades and no shutters being delivered even after 3 months of our order. She didn’t even have the courtesy to reach out as let us know what the issue was. She never answered calls or returned texts and when we sent a message telling her that we would like to cancel our order and no longer require her service she sent out a text telling that she will be get back to us the next weekend. But no sign of her at all. Looks like she’s gotten way too carried away taking orders that she can’t deliver. Beware! before you place an order with her. Most of our neighbors also have been complaining that their orders are all way too delayed.

I am a first time homeowner and was a bit lost on what types of shutters were out there. Cathy was so helpful and knowledgeable, her suggestions really helped me pick out the perfect shutters for my house and they were in my price range. I felt no sales pressure from her to buy more expensive shutters than I wanted or to cover extra windows. Her prices were actually way less than other places I had looked at, including the big home improvement stores.
Install was very quick and they cleaned up the rooms afterwards leaving no debris behind. Cathy and her crew were all so nice and really seem to love what they do. I am so happy with my shutters and I recommend Cathy and Sierra Window Treatments if you are looking for a positive experience!

Cathy is great we weren’t sure what type of blinds we wanted for our Pine Mtn Lake vaca home and she gave great advice and love the honey combed black out shades eith the remote on our high windows installed last year. We’re now using her for our San Jose home for shutters and she beat out our other quote by far.

Cathy and Jeff are just amazing people to have work for you. They are prompt and if they are running a little late they call to inform you.
Would it not be nice if everyone was so considerate. Anyway back to the review.
I would give them 10 stars if possible. I worked with them over the course of a few months. I would have them come and install a few windows at a time. As my budget allowed. They both always had a wonderful cheerful attitude and she never made me feel my job was to small for her. Everyone window in my home now looks amazing Thanks to Cathy and her shutters and Jeff’s expert installation.
I have recommended Cathy to many of my friends and I am sure you will be happy with her products and her wonderful personality.

We just put shutter through out our condo by Sierra Window Treatments today 04÷12÷14. Cathy Proctor is a wonderful, pleasant and trust wordy person. She was on time, did a clean, awesome and quality job. Most important her price is unbeatable and very very reasonable. I recommend her to any one who need shutters or blinds.

Oh how my family loves the beautiful shutters Cathy installed for us. We spent an entire evening admiring and enjoying them. They definitely transformed our house into something elegant. Our living room & dining area face the west and get the sun in the afternoon. When we had mini blinds the heat from the afternoon sun heat up our whole house and made it stuffy. The moisture (we are like 10 blocks from the ocean) made our blinds deteriorate fast. Now with these beautiful shutters, they actually made our house cool in the afternoon and even block off the sound from outside. Just simply fabulous, Cathy. Thank you so much !!! If you want shutters, Cathy is your person.

Like some of the other reviewers on here, we found Cathy from Sierra Window Treatments on craigslist. Skeptical at first, we ultimately came around after we met and talked to her in person. I’m glad we did.
In sum, we got beautiful plantation shutters from Cathy. What’s more, we got them plus taxes and free installation at an amazing price – in fact, no other business we contacted matched her price, and we would not have bought shutters at all but for her prices. She worked with us from start to finish, was very responsive to our emails, and was just simply a nice person.

This is a fabulous business. I found Cathy through her advertisement on craigslist and thought I would just use her to beat up Costco on price. Well, she came in at half of Costco and she reps a large number of manufacturers, including the same brand hd that Costco sells) and a wide variety of products. I am so pleased with my wood plantations shutters. I ended up doing my whole house for the price of what Costco was charging for just two windows. To top it off, she is a beautiful, warm and engaging person. I give her a full recommendation without qualification. If you buy plantation shutters from anybody else in the Bay area, you are missing out!

We just got shutters installed and was very happy with the service. We had 3 big openings upstairs and wanted to secure it. We decided on shutters, and got 4 different price quotes. We came across Cathy from Sierra Window Treatments. Her quote was about 30% less than others we checked. She also provided recommendations on the best color and positioning of the shutters to make it look most appealing and we love the results. Her service and pricing is exceptional.
