Ordered prime rib medium well. Told can’t do it that would only cook medium. Ok. I can go with that. When brought to table was cold and rare. Good cut of meat… couldn’t eat it. Oh well. Save your money and go to okie dokie bbq where they have amazing food served to order.

I have eaten here several times and the food is always good. «Jake» the parrot is in the foyer and does talk. The restaurant is on the water and you can eat outside and enjoy the view.

Friendly atmosphere. Nice view of the lake. Good service. The steak was a bit tough but everything else I tried was good! Coconut shrimp, ribs, fries(homemade), chicken strips… all delicious!

Lots of mixed reviews on the. Parrot. We’ve had good service, Steven usually, great kid! and mostly loved our food. It can get very busy on weekends. We go mid week. BBQ shrimp unique and good, great steak salad, fish tacos. On Wednesday get the fried chicken, THEBEST. Beers priced right but liqueur is high if u order brand name. Enjoy the view and the sunset and over look small annoyances.

The Lazy Parrot is a difficult restaurant to review. I have eaten there several times and my experiences range from a totally awful 1 star review up to a great 4 – 5 star review. I have had more average to good experiences than poor ones, but really a business should never allow a customer to leave having had a bad time without trying to right the wrong. The food is generally good. The fish tacos are usually great and my favorite dish to order. The quality of the food is a little too hit or miss though. My earlier visits to the restaurant were generally when my food was less than good. Hopefully that means it was a particular cook who has been replaced or trained further. As for the service, it too is hit or miss. I have had great servers who made sure I never needed a thing. However, I have also had a couple of the worst servers I have ever had. One in particular almost caused me to not return. I will say that my most negative visits to the restaurant were more in its earlier days and my last couple of visits have been above average. The atmosphere is generally good with lots of big windows that overlook the lake. The Caribbean style decorations are a little unusual for Grove but it works. The Lazy Parrot has the potential to be a great restaurant and it seems to be making steps to get on the right track, but for whatever reason my early visits were almost enough to drive me away.

For a small town, this was really decent food and service. We met friends here for lunch and the atmosphere is nice — over looks the lake with lots of windows. I ordered the fried cod which was very good. Since it was the lunch portion, I would say it was a little small and only 1 piece. Came with what appeared to be home cooked fires which were very good and the coleslaw was better than average. Fried fish is not the best judge for a restaurant like this but it was a good choice — just needed a little more food.

A 20 minute wait on a Saturday night is not so bad. And once the obnoxious idiots that were teasing the McCaw Jake the bird that greets you as you come in, went to wait elsewhere, it was very entertaining watching Jake flirt with a cute blonde tween named«HANNAH». The bacon wrapped shrimp appetizer was an excellent start to our meal. The salad was a bit disappointing. Simple greens mixed with a spring mix blend 2 slices of cucumber, 2 slices of red onion and 1 withered cherry or grape tomato. I couldn’t really tell. A small plastic cup of dressing. With such bountiful local offerings at the Farmer’s Market I felt the salad was not suitable for following the shrimp appetizer. Our server Adam was busily taking care of us while taking care of a party of 13. He was constantly checking our table with furtive glances as he attended their needs. 5 stars Adam. You gave us the opportunity to get your attention had we needed something. Papa enjoyed the Lakeside Coconut Shrimp which he enjoyed thoroughly. He loved the Coconut sauce on the side for dipping. I also thoroughly my Baseball Cut Sirloin. A perfect medium rare, a beautiful medley of broccoli, carrots, yellow carrots and snow peas perfectly seasoned. And the baked potatoes? I am so excited to see a restaurant serve them with crunchy skins. Rolls and a view. All in all a fabulous 10th Anniversary dinner. If you ever have the chance ask for Adam and the view of Grand lake is to die for!

Arrived on Sunday after the church rush. Tables were full but we only waited a minute or two before being seated. The name says Steakhouse but I only saw chicken fried steak on the menu. Rest of menu was variety of items you would expect near the lake. Our food was good, but it took awhile to arrive as our order was not submitted right away.

We ordered at 6pm and didn’t get the food until 7:45. We had kids with us, so nearly 2 and a half hours was a total disaster. The manager never offered an apology, and when asked about the wait, they said they were going as fast as they could without coming close to saying sorry. Many tables seated after us got their food and left before we were served. ESPN also quit working during a big baseball game. Just a miserable experience all around

The parrot is arguably the best place to eat in Grove. The service is great, the atmosphere is charming and comfortable, the food for the most part is outstanding. Their fish tacos are wonderful, the coconut shrimp is great, and their spaghetti and meatballs are some of the best! No other place in town comes close to the experience you will have at the parrot. Also they have a great bar and bartender.

It was good food. Not very many veggie choices but the pasta I had was decent. Their tomato basil soup was good. Nothing to write home about. Friendly service. A little slow because they were understaffed.

This place could use some improvement on the little things, but overall the food and atmosphere is great compared to other places on Grand Lake. It’s more like 3.5 stars, but I couldn’t go with 3; it has potential and still good! Pros — Our waiter was one of the friendliest waiters I’ve ever had. He was very enthusiastic about his job, the menu, and had a great sense of humor. I asked for two drinks, and he had no idea what they were, but worked with the bar to try and make them for me. Sweet! — It sits on Honeycreek Cove at Grand Lake, so you can sit indoors or outdoors and have a great view of the lake, especially at sundown since it faces west. Some of the seating is further back, so if you want a great lake view, just request it. — It has a beach-like feel to it; casual, but nice! — The rolls brought out before your meal are large, soft, and delicious! TIP: The rolls come with regular butter, but they also have cinnamon butter that’s amazing. You have to ask for it though since it normally just comes with the sweet baked potatoes. Filet of beef: I eat filets a lot, done medium-well, and my steak was very juicy and flavorful. I wish I had ordered double veggies because the veggie mix was thoroughly cooked and tasted good! Cons — When they say«side of fruit» on the menu, it really means, «a side of grapefruit and a couple of other pieces of fruit soaked in grapefruit juice.» Everyone at my table ordered the fruit and was disappointed when it came out as grapefruit or fruit drenched in grapefruit juice. That’s one of the most unappealing fruits to the average person, why not serve anything else?! — They don’t serve or know about skinny margaritas. This is one of the best selling drinks ever and would do well for them. It would also be appealing to those trying to drink healthier. I know I would visit a place more often when deciding on where to go if they served skinny margaritas! They tried to make me one, but it came out as all tequila. :) This is a MUST item, especially for summer time! They also need to add Agave Margaritas to their bar menu. Many restaurants like On the Border make them; so good, sweet, and strong! If you’re going to be a drinking place on the lake, expand your menu! I will go back. There aren’t many great places right on the water at Grand Lake, and this is one of the few good ones!

Waiters were lazy or at least unconcerned with customer service. Food was not good at all. Shrimp was really overcooked. Meatballs on my wife’s spaghetti tasted like I was eating balls of parsley. The only thing they have going for them is their amazing view of the lake. I expect a lot more from the amazing location.

The Lazy Parrot is a great place to eat at. It has a great location, right next to the lake, which gives you an amazing view. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. The food is great as far as variety and quality. The only downside is the actual parrot they have as mascot. While it is gorgeous, it is pretty annoying and a lil bit scary/depressing. You are greeted by it and while it is a pleasant surprise at first, it soon becomes annoying by making super loud sounds as if it was angry. My nieces and nephew were actually scared of it. It doesn’t seem like he is happy in his cage(that might be my PETAish tendencies talking though).
