Delight Bakery & Café

If a bakery could be an evil genius of delicious baked goods, this would be the place. Ingenious flavor combination and twists on old classics. Cupcakes, muffins, danish, you name it, it’s great. I live on the west side but every time I have business in the Detroit /​Harper Woods/​Grosse Pointe area, I always arrange my schedule to allow me time to get there before they close. Great place. The staff, when busy, come off as curt or pretentious, but I am willing to be understanding sometimes, especially when you are on your feet for 12 hours a day and have a line of 10 customers. Regardless, it is hard to find a bad item here. From their incredible croissants to their mini pies, everything is delicious including the aroma when you walk in.

I will go here from now on!!! This place is absolutely hands down better than Josefs! Charlie, the owner is absolutely warm and friendly!!! He takes such pride in his craft! There has not been one thing I have tried that my husband and I haven’t devoured!!! PLEASE… Check this delightful bakery and café out. you won’t be disappointed!

I agree with Susan B. The cupcake I bought was phenomenal, but the owner is such a dick! He was a pretentious jerk and the reason for the ²⁄₅ stars despite an awesome product. The face of the business would do well to take note of all the other bakeries in the area; bad service is reason enough for me to take my business down the road. Too bad because I love me some cupcakes!

Simply amazing. Best bakery I’ve ever experienced. Muffins are super moist. Walnut brownie is the best I’ve ever had. Can’t wait to try other tasty treats.

This place is, well… Delightful! There is nothing like getting up on a Saturday morning to a fresh croissant. This is the real deal. The wonderful pastry has a great flaky slightly crispy exterior and soft buttery layers on the inside. They are amazing on their own but when you add one of the fillings, its equally has heavenly. One of my other favorite treats are the cheddar scones. Such an powerful burst of flavor with cheddar and buttery goodness. Hmmm, I sense a theme.
Anyway, I have tried a few other things (muffins, apple pie) and nothing disappoints. I am excited to see they have branched out into various cakes. Their caramel topped cheese cake is to die for. Definitely will be back to check out the other new goodies they have.
One thing that I LOVE is their display. It is one of the most beautiful display of bakery convections that I have seen. It has an old school european bakery feel. Everything looks so perfect and makes you feel like a kid in a candy store. They have done an excellent job in taking the time to make sure this bakery is meticulously in place. Everything has a place and makes you want to look at every corner. If diets weren’t an issue, I’d be here every other day for sure.

The baked goods looked lovely but the owner was too rude for me to ever patronize this establishment.

FABULOUS!!! Fresh, visually stimulating, and most important, DELICIOUS. Great assortment of beautiful baked goods, cakes and treats. Clean. Very nice love it.

My favourite bakery in my neighbourhood! They always serve fresh baked goods, of high quality and the baker is always warm and friendly and will often be there to greet you in the morning. I usually go there early in the morning to buy a croissant. They also serve coffee as well. The ambiance is very quaint and everything is well ornamented and accented with green. Very lovely place! Get out of bed and get over to this place and have a pastry!
