Great little park pretty close to omaha. I use it for trail running and it’s one of the better tracks around. It is a bit short but has two main trails 1 being the shorter and 2 being the longer both are pretty well marked and maintained.

My review comes from a school field trip perspective. I teach an ISEC classroom in Bellevue and we take our kids to the park at least twice a year. It makes for an inexpensive field trip. We have students of various levels and mobility. Though Schram Park is not necessarily«handicap accessible,» it was easy enough to get around to most things. We always park up at the aquarium. Here, you can get your map for the entire park. We walk down a paved walkway to the hatcheries. .We take the kids down there and throw bread out to the ducks, fish, and geese. On a number of occasions, we’ve seen goslings and ducklings. This area is nice and shaded, and has a few smaller tables. The museum is also located down here, though sometimes is shackled. But I encourage you to go inside as Schramm Park has a nice history to it. I’ve also seen canoes up here with children inside, and I am not sure if those are rentable or not. But they look like they’d be a lot of fun. From there, there are two ways to the playground equipment. You can either walk up the stairs to more hatcheries, or walk up a steep road. The playground is not handicap accessible as it is sand/rocks. But the equipment itself is newer and clean. There are bathrooms up here, but last time I was there, they were closed. I have not been up into the trails, so I cannot comment about those. My only gripe is that the bathrooms seem to be very old and dated, which makes them feel super unclean. Each time I’ve been in there, the floors have been really wet. There are no suitable changing tables, just a bench in the women’s restroom. To get to the picnic tables close to the aquarium, it’s on grass, which makes it difficult with a wheelchair. Inside the aquarium(free!!!), they have a lot of different fish, and a huge turtle. The turtle seems like it should be in a bigger tank, as the tank on display is maybe double the size of it’s body. The fish are really neat to look at. They have an open room that is mainly for children. Lots of animal skin, tank animals, books, and a nice place to relax with the kids while they are overloaded on sensory. I’d like to visit the park with my husband at some point. It’s a nice little treasure right in our home state. Not too far from Mahoney, definitely check this place out, especially if you’re not willing to fork out a lot of money.

This little recreation area gem is just off the beaten path… Only 5 miles south of Interstate 80 along Nebraska Highway 31. The Park has a geological display, a fish hatchery, a waterfowl display, a playground, camping shelters, a meditation shelter, and several picnic pavilions. The trail system is over 2 miles through mixed forest. there’s one cable suspension bridge and 2 fixed truss bridges that cross a creek. Trail number one faces the southwest and get light until the very end of each day. Trail number to criss crosses the creek just over the bluff to the north. There are some great views of the Platte River along the bluff.
