The Groves Apartments

Great place to live if you have a bullet proof vest, like gang activity, and enjoy having dealers as neighbors.

I moved in immediately after a «remodel.» It was as if a child had remodeled it. The walls, cabinets, and drawers were painted so horribly that the walls had clumps of paint on them and the cabinets and drawers were always cracking and sticking so it was hard to open and close.
Wallace (the manager) was OK. The office was only open from 9 – 5 M-​F and was never able to accommodate me and some other residents whenever there was a package or some other sort of issue.
While they were refinancing the apartment complex, they showed my apartment and promised to give me $ 25 off my rent for each time they showed it. They showed it twice, I asked about my discounted rent, and they ignored me on multiple occasions and refused to give me the discount.
They also allow large dogs in the apartments and I found this to be a horrible situation. I lived on the first floor and my upstairs neighbor and her dog woke me up anytime between 11 PM to 4:30AM. I complained about my upstairs neighbor on multiple occasions to the management and they did nothing.
They had been remodeling the apartments since December (I believe) and still are. They were not fast by any means and left nails everywhere around the parking lots.
I also found the price of the apartment and the quality did not match! Maybe it was so expensive because its next to a college, I don’t know.

Did not return a rental deposit to tenants who were burned out of their home by a faulty coffeemaker. Keurig has admitted fault, the product was recalled and the Groves kept the deposit from a family who ended up with nothing.

Dear Management:
I just met my new neighbors across the hall, and they are genuine pieces of shit. They scream at each other about their drugs outside my front door, and I overheard the woman say she can’t afford to get kicked out of another place. At 3am this morning I asked them to keep it down, at which point her 20 year old fetal alcohol dropouts called me a «lumberjack faggot.»
First of all, thanks for dropping another batch of dead souls outside my front door, and making the Groves the kind of place that parents in hell warn their children about.
Secondly, what can I do to facilitate the eviction of these human vermin?
Since management changes more frequently than my socks, I’m not sure whose attention to bring this to.

Dont do it!!! I lived in these for a year. The apartments themselves aren’t that bad, but the management has no idea what they’re doing and most of the neighbors are trash. Cops in and out of the place all the time. They say they’re pet friendly but everytime I would take my dog out to go to the bathroom this crazy lady who lives there would come out and scream at me about how I better pick up my dogs «shit» even though I had a plastic bag in my hand and my dog hadn’t even gone yet, also I got up one morning to go to work to find that someone had gathered up a bunch of different dog poops and dumped them on my front door step… The management makes mistakes constantly, they put an eviction notice on two of my neighbors doors saying they owed money and needed to pay in 14 days or get out, when in fact they didnt owe anything at all and it was the offices miscalculation. When we left our apartment we cleaned that place sooo good and when we did our walk through the lady said it was the best she’d seen. Within a week they had it rented out and during that week they had used our apartment for a model to show people who were thinking of moving in. but then we got a thing in the mail saying we owed $ 150.84 and that we had 14 days to pay or it was going to collections! because supposedly our security deposit didn’t cover the carpet cleaning and supposed «excessive stain removal» and that we had neglected to pay our last two W, S, G bills!!! Not true! I had give them a 90 dollar money order the day we moved out! So within 5 days of getting the letter I went in and talked them and they found the misplaced money order and I paid the extra carpet cleaning fee and was told we were all squared away… LIES! within the week we received a letter from collections saying we owed $ 150.84 and we received this letter from collection before or first letters 14 days was even over! I was told by the groves to ignore the letter that it was sent out before I paid but soon after I began to receive phone calls from collections demanding money. So again I had to go to the apartments with all my paper work proving my innocents and have them call the collection agency right in front of me and have them print off a paper saying I owed them nothing! My gawd, to make a long story sort living in the Groves was like living in my own personal Hell.
