Ice scoop size portions of white rice. All the other joy places use large scoopers for the rice. But this place thinks it ok to use actual ice cream scoops size portions. Then they confuse prawns with shrimps. But charge Prawn prices. Will absolutely never return. Way over priced for the portions and service is about as nice as getting served by a jail guard in prison. One of my top ten not to go places from now on. Thumbs way down.

Consistently good and delicious! My kids can split the meals because the portions are so generous and they actually eat the food(very picky eaters). The staff are polite and efficient.

This is one of the meet teriyaki restaurants opened in Gresham. It is a chain and I have visited several of the different locations in and around the PDX area. The food here is good and moderately priced for teriyaki. My family and I have came to this location at least 3 – 4 times. The food is fresh tasting and service verbally fast. It does have a small family owned appeal once you are inside. The restaurant is clean and has an Asian feel to it. We have tried most of the items on the menu and found them to be good. The portions are pretty big and flavorful. We will continue to come here.

The Gresham establishment named Joy Teriyaki is well-rounded across the board. The service is quick and the quality is wonderful, with lots of options for what to order and lots of tables. This is just a wonderful place to get a lunch, especially since it has a chicken bowl, consisting of teriyaki, rice and sauce for just five dollars. Well, I had that chicken bowl. I ordered it when I walked in and it came after about five minutes. The lighting was elegant and there was a sweet teriyaki sauce available on the table. The chicken was delicious, very tender considering the price. The marinade could be a bit better, but the sauce more than compensated. I just loved pouring the sauce on and devouring the sweet teriyaki and the rice. They gave me lots of it and I was a happy man. Joy Teriyaki is worth looking into.

The best mini restaurant with great food, family and welcoming atmosphere. Cooks are ready for you as soon as you walk in. For my lunch I always go there and I love beef with steamed veggies. Great price. Amazing taste. My family loves it. Food is very good. Fresh, fast, no oil, hot and super delicious. Friends and family who come to visit me would be taken to that restaurant. During lunch I have only 30 min. And it is perfect time to come there, order and finish your meal. Highly recommend. You will love love love it. Nothing fancy. Super simple. But all is well and very good

This particular Joy Teriyaki is the first I’ve ever been to. Hopefully it’s a shining example of their other restaurants. Once you walk in, it’s as if your walking into some little tucked away Japanese restaurant located in downtown Tokyo. It atmosphere is almost over killed by the wood tables, walls, and chairs. Almost. It only serves to add to the look and feel of an authentic Japanese restaurant. The experience doesn’t just stop there with this little gem, tucked away at a strip mall in Gresham, OR. The staff here are incredibly friendly. Even when I butchered their menu with my horrific pronunciation of the Bul Go Gi bowl that I ordered. And yes I know bul go gi is Korean. I digress… You should order it nevertheless! Amazing… I will be coming back very soon! Plus there is free wifi.

I’m gluten free. Not by choice. The order taker had no idea about gluten so I was unable to eat here. Too bad.

Last minute decision called my order in twenty minutes before closing. I am so glad i made it. We got chicken breast teriyaki sideorder of beef teriyaki it was so good. And ieven like the Pot stckers which irarely like anywhere. The portions are big and has plrnty of sauce in it. The service was great. Even though it was the end of the night and they were ready to go they were so nice. I had my hands full and she helped me carry my bags to the car. I will definitely be back!!!

Awesome décor and food. I tried the yakisoba and the noodles were just right, not too soft, not too hard. Employees are nice. Teriyaki is slightly better than most but the sauce could use some more ginger, garlic, and well just a bit more pizazz.

I love this place! I’ve been going here for years and was sad when the owners changed the restaurant chain but it’s still AMAZING!!! Everything I’ve tried has been great and the owners are so nice!
