Heatherwood Apartments

This place is horrible. The office staff do not care about you or any issues you may have. Even after multiple calls the dog poop never decreased and they didn’t seem to care considering it took them 3 days to even get a post out about it, and that’s even after calling to remind them. There’s constant people going through the garbage even during the day that never get talked to. Parking is a nightmare unless you pay $ 15 per spot and that’s not including if you’re lucky enough to get a spot your car will actually fit! When moving out they give you a front and back sheet with everything that needs to cleaned in order for you not to be charged. And of course nothing is cheap with this place. So when you move out, expect to get your full deposit back. Which makes no sense because I was literally told, «we don’t replace anything,» because my countertops were cracked and lifting and missing edges in some places. I would suggest looking elsewhere when looking for a new place to live.

At first glance it seems ok and much nicer than some of the other complex’s in the neighborhood. Unfortunately it’s really not that nice. I paid $ 935 for an apartment which was not even equipped with a microwave. My noise complaints went unaddressed and there is a known/​continuous problem with transient’s rooting through the trash receptacles. The pet stations are frequently left empty for multiple days and there is definitely a problem with mold/​mildew for those apartments which back up to the field. If you stay for more than a year you can expect to add $ 100 per month to your rent for «rising market conditions». If you need to save a little bit of money and don’t mind noise, transients in your trash, and loud neighbors then this is the spot for you. If you like clean, safe, and quieter atmosphere’s then my recommendation is to keep looking.

NEVER MOVE HERE!!! If your neighbors decided to get a dog that barks all day, the office doesn’t care. If your neighbors play their music so loud that it shakes your pictures off the wall, the office doesn’t care. If the neighbors are drug dealers and regularly have the police raid their apartment, the office doesn’t care. If you want to go swimming during the summer, don’t live here, the pool is closed more often than it’s open. Also, the playground here is a death trap, if you don’t want your little ones to play on splintering wooden structures with rusty metal accents and come running to you with the syringe they found at the foot of the slide, do yourself a favor and skip this place when searching for a home. The office staff is more interested in making the office look nice than to make actual safety improvements to the grounds. I repeat, NEVER MOVE HERE!!!

Horrible on going experiance. When we moved out we took pictures of how the place was left. They admittedly took pictures with a blown up magnified camera making things not visible to the human eye appear. They wanted to charge us over $ 900 in damages. When offering them my pictures taken they said after 30 days they would file against us. Thinking this would lead to someone being willing to see my pictures and be reasonable with charges I was ok with this. I tried to file against them to speed up the matter but was told they would need to file against us for our voice to be heard. Instead of making the file they just continue to harrass us sending us accumulating bills with in days of eachother each or a higher amount the last one being $ 2,914.25. Even after 3 years they have not filed and even denied my request for mediation. Obviously trying to get more and more unjustified money from us. I even offered to pay over the origional asked for amount at this point trying to clean this matter up since we are trying to prepare to buy a home and still they refuse wanting more money obviously. All this is in email communications as well so it is well documented. In fact when I could not open a file they emailed to me they stated «you can view them from another computer with the appropriate technology». This is just a joke. I am hoping if and when a file is actually made our documentation will actually be seen so that this nonsense will end.

If you want to live at a place that doesn’t take care of their grounds very well and then sends letters to you for having a piece of wood in the window to hold up your AC unit, because it is unpleasing to the eye, this is your place! If you want to keep a jogging stroller on your balcony, that is also unpleasing to the eye and can warrant you a $ 50 fee if not removed. Problem is, the apartments aren’t big enough to store it. Sounds like a ploy to get more money out of the renter, hinting towards a garage.
Their trash containers are continuously overflowing, as they only dump them once a week. Therefore, residents throw their trash all around the dumpster. The trees are never cut, I can walk into branches just walking around the complex.
Some genious thought it was a good idea to put maple trees near uncovered parking spots, so if you park there, you come back to a sticky car.
If that isn’t enough, their condescending, arrogant, unprofessional staff is right there with the worst of them.
Once my lease is up, I’m outta here! I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy.
