History
Established in 2000.
Master Coach James Clingerman started training in Martial Arts at the age of 13. He began with a traditional martial arts background and quickly moved on to Japanese Ju Jitsu and Judo. By 18, Coach Clingerman began his Brazilian Jiu Jitsu journey under the Gracie’s. In 2000 the first IBJJA opened in Franklin, IN. It was only a couple weeks after James had been shot in the head by a random guy in Castleton. James’ dedication and love for the sport and the school really showed when he attended that grand opening. Knowing how short life really can be, James works diligently every day to give his students the best training atmosphere and instruction. His passion for the sport is why Team James Clingerman is the most decorated Team in Indiana. We have grown a great deal since 2000, and have big plans to continue our growth. We hope that you will grow with us. Come be a part of our team, of our family.
