Velvet Day Spa

I got acne in my 20s, and it got worse with every pregnancy. So by the time I got my first facial with Jeanette, I had acne, scars, and low self confidence.
Other facials I’ve had left me feeling worse about my skin, but Jeannette gave me hope! She said she could help me! We started a loose regimen of microdermabrasion and facials. I’ve done 4 of the 6 sessions so far, and I can see a world of difference!
My face is clearer, the scars are faded, but best of all, I don’t avoid the mirror anymore. I can’t wait to continue my treatments! I don’t even mind driving from North Denver. I won’t go anywhere else :)

Average massage and facial services, pleasant admin and therapists, nice décor; worth going to on an appointment by appointment basis. Watch out for their membership, though. It seems like a good deal at $ 50 per month, and they will tell you that you may cancel any time without hassle (at least, that’s what I was told when I signed up). The fine print, however, advises that you must pay for at least three months before you can cancel, and that once you cancel your dues are forfeit (you won’t be able to use what you have already paid for any further services). During the few months I was a member, appointment availability was close to nil, with the next available weekend appointment for a massage or facial about a month away from the time I called to set something up. The guilt trip when I finally cancelled was minimal, but that may be because they got to keep $ 150 of my unused membership dues.

I purchased a massage certificate for Velvet Day Spa and tried for over 2 months to get in. I was finally told they were closed for services for the month of September for construction. They changed 2 of the massage rooms into other uses. Now why would anyone looking to grow a business offer a deal that expired in early/​mid November then shut for a month to reduce the availability to meet the needs of the potential customers? I was offered to be put on a waiting list but that is working to their needs and not mine. This is just a bad business all around. Got a refund and will spend my money on someone who actually cares what customer service means.

I’ve come to Velvet Day Spa a few times now, and have had a few different massage therapists. My favorite so far has been from Bob, has his hands and skills are truly amazing.
I started working downtown, so I’ve had to start scheduling Saturday massages instead of weekday. One frustrating thing is that Saturdays are almost always booked… I had to book out 6wks in advance.
Usually I would give this place 4 – 5 stars; however, after my last experience, I’m taking it down to 3. My Appointment was for 11:15am, and I got stuck in traffic as there was a really bad accident on the highway that had it backed up for a few miles. I left my phone at home, and ended up arriving at 11:20am. I apologized for being late, and the therapist told me «we were wondering if you were even going to show up…» This was before my massage, and it felt a little rude, but I looked past it. After all, I was there to relax, right?
After my massage was done, I went to add a tip on my card. The guy at the front desk said «cash only» which was never the case before. They apparently started doing this Oct 1^st, as this was «in the email.» I mentioned I’ve never had an email confirmation, to find out they entered my email in their system incorrectly. Never once was there an apology about the mistake, or confusion. So I ask about an atm nearby, and he points me to a bank and the movie theater saying «you could always come back with the cash.» As this was already a pretty big inconvenience, I walk to the atm, and find out that my debit card doesn’t work as my bank updated cards without sending me a new one (those darn chip cards)… So it’s about 1pm, my bank already closed, and I felt terrible, as I had to leave without tipping. It was a really frustrating experience after what was supposed to be a relaxing treat to myself.
Tl;dr: taking away a service that makes it easier for the customer to tip your staff really, really sucks, both for the therapists and the customers. Massages are good, but you have to schedule them 6wks in advance.

This place is truly as good as it gets for eyebrows.
I was referred to Jeanette through a friend… in fact ALL of my friends go to her. She convinced me the first time to tint my eyebrows. Being pretty blonde I was not fond of the idea but Jeanette is bossy in a good way so I took her advice. She knows what she is talking about. Having been in the industry for years she will make sure you leave looking good even if that means stepping out of your comfort zone.
I was overly impressed… in fact… I am obsessed. It was like I was staring out at the world through a different pair of eyes. I cannot go without an eyebrow wax and tint now. I also live no where near her and no longer work down there anymore… but I will find a way to get back there.
There is no one like her. You will get more compliments on your eyebrows than ever before, and you will feel beautiful. You must go!

This spa is sensational! I don’t usually write reviews but I have to share… Jeanette gives a magical facial. Not only does she transform your skin but she is an educator and welcomes all questions. I have had one massage at the spa and it will not be my last. The masseuse (a gentleman) was incredible. Best massage EVER! My girlfriend recommend Velvet to me and I am forever grateful!!!

Jeanette does a facial that is incredible. You begin with your old wrinkled face and leave with baby soft and smooth skin. Do it!
Bob gives a massage that is equal to a fantasy getaway. He’s strong and gentle at the same time. I melted into the table.
Anissa is fantastic. She’s skilled and has great ideas for clients with special needs.
Shawn runs the front desk with great competence.

So, I am giving this Day Spa a 2 star review because of the customer service sneakiness that I experienced and the inability to EVER get a decent time period for a 90 minute massage. First, I went here on a Groupon and had a wonderful 90 minute massage with a woman named Blanca. She was the reason I bought their monthly package. But, when I went in for my next appointment, she no longer worked there. It is very difficult to make an appointment here if you actually have a full time job during the day-​they are not open on Mondays and you have to book the 90 minutes massages by 4 p.m. so that means leaving work early to get there. I’ve had to book weeks in advance which is not convenient at all either. So, the guy at the front desk tells me that the month to month membership can be cancelled after the 3 months and that you can use your massages for the month after if you want. However, what he didn’t tell me was that you can’t use your «credits» for AFTER you cancelled your membership. So I just paid more than full price for the 2 massages I received. His response «It’s in the contract». Also, he cancelled my appointment on me when I was planning on being there and arrived on time. Wasted my morning on a SATURDAY. Nice customer service. I wonder what that guy is doing there? Too expensive and too difficult to make an appointment. I’ll go back to Beau Visage.

I’m a guy who usually only gets massages when my wife buys them for me, or when we are on vacation. Yet I bought a package deal from Velvet, something I’ve never done; that alone should tell you something.
Velvet Day Spa is beautiful, with a very intimate feeling. You receive the requisite offer of hot tea (delicious by the way) or water, and are escorted into an oasis-​like room (that smells great). The therapists are amazing and intuitive, and they care about your business. On the package deals, the per-​massage rate is very good, especially for a place that feels this high-​end.
My wife is a spa snob and has come back repeatedly for facials and who knows what else.
I would highly encourage any man or woman to try Velvet before either spending way too much somewhere not as nice, or spending a tiny bit less at a place in a strip mall somewhere.
Plus the Landmark is fun anyway.

I have suffered from hyperpigmentation on my back for most of my adult life and was always really self conscious about it. I never thought there was a way to fix it so I just lived with it. After getting a facial at Velvet I asked what could be done about my back and that’s when I was referred to Jeanette. I LOVE this woman. She has completely changed my skin.
Being a woman of color, I had fears about being another casualty of inexperience and carelessness that would make my skin look even worse. So I definitely put Jeanette through the ringer the first time I saw her. She was so patient and kind and reassuring which definitely calmed my fears. And now I’ve been going to her for about six months and couldn’t be happier with the results. It’s amazing what a little attentiveness can do. I’ll never go anywhere else for my skin care needs that’s for sure. Once you find a place as great as this, everything else pretty much pales in comparison. Definitely check it out for yourself, I promise you won’t be disappointed!

I am so thankful this place is around the corner from me. It’s so tough to find new service providers when you move, but I hit the mark right away with the Velvet Day Spa. The eyebrow was is the best I’ve ever had. I’ve bought a few of Jeannette’s products, and they are amazing. Oh, and my sister had a prenatal massage while she was in town visiting me and she loved that, as well.

I was feeling especially stressed and exhausted the day before my boards exam, and took to Groupon to find massage deal. This spa happened to be down the street from the prometric testing center (I wanted to drive over there to familiarize myself with the area prior to my exam), so it was 100% convenient. I’ve had a handful of massages in my day, but OH. MY. GAWD the deep tissue massage was amazing! I wish wish wish that I remembered my massage therapist’s name. Jeanette maybe? I see a lot of reviews about her, and considering it was a small place I’m going to gander that it was her. The powers of her touch, and the ambiance of that place relaxed me to a state of pre-​test bliss (is this even possible?), so I felt completely rejuvenated and ready to kick butt. And would you know it. I passed my board exam the next day! Coincidence? I think not!

Jeanette is truly amazing. She has transformed my skin and taken at least 10 years off my appearance. I thought I was just destined to have bad skin until I was introduced to her. We talked a few minutes and she assured me that she could help me, and she did! Everywhere I go people make comments on how beautiful my skin is. I would recommend Velvet day spa to anyone,

I was referred to Jeanette when I developed adult acne and felt like I’d exhausted all avenues to clear it up. I instantly fell in love with her products (which she makes herself) and greatly appreciate her knowledge of skin and skin care products. She recommended we do some facials and microderm to clear up my acne — and I am ecstatic about the progress we’ve made. When I went to see her my face was literally purple/​red from acne and scars and I was so embarrassed by it — I’m amazed at how great my skin looks now!
Also, I love the atmosphere at the spa and how pampered I feel each time I go. I am so thankful to have found Jeanette/​Velvet Day Spa.

SOOOOOO worth waiting to get an appointment for my GORGEOUS lashes with Jeanette! The best! ! Can’t wait to try out a facial! Such a relaxing, beautiful atmosphere, I swear I fell asleep for a sec! Am loving the lashes!!!

I got something in the mail that Jeanette had reopened in Greenwood Village, so I just had to get in to see her! I used to go to her old place in Cherry Creek, so I couldn’t wait to get in to Velvet. I had a facial and it was fantastic! It was so relaxing, and now my skin is smoother. Plus, I’m having less breakouts. She recommended her skincare products and I couldn’t be more thrilled. It’s all natural, which is great because I don’t want to put anything processed on my face. The eye cream and face wash are my favorites. As usual, Jeanette’s style and service are impeccable. I already have my next appointment! Thank you so much!
