This is a good middle of the road bar if you are getting to know someone. Don’t be expecting exceptional service or a great crowd. Everyone was pretty uptight. I made the mistake of taking a guy who wore a cowboy hat to this place, and we got looked at like we both had 3 heads. I’ve gone twice and swore it off the second time. I guess this place is great if you are 18 or have loads of money to p! ss away on alcohol.

Braved my way through the worst traffic I’ve EVER encountered only to find that the DTC Purple Martini is Closed For Business !!! Another one bites the dust !!!

The Purple Martini has always been a fantastic hidehout for me and my girlfriends. It’s always super fun and very chic. If Martinis aren’t you thing, they have an extensive wine list featuring the finest wines from across the globe. I love the exotic interior, but they also know how to make a fantastic dinner. The service was trying hard, and had high-class moments(our server was very good about explaining each of the dishes, and I for one like that sort of thing), but on the other hand two different people at our table had drink-order problems. I was still extremely impressed. You’ll have to ask Ron and Ernie if they agree. :-) It’s not cheap, and it’s good enough that I will be back, and as often as I can justify the price… And I plan to come up with some pretty ludicrous justifications. :-) A++ Highly Reccomended!

The Purple Martini is all about setting a very sexy ambiance. They keep the lighting dimmed, not because it isn’t one of the best looking space in denver but becuase, some how it has the effect of making everyone seem just a little more attractive. Earlier in the evening this is a nice spot sip a $ 8 martini & exchange business cards with a twenty something mortgage broker, model, realtor or advertising consultant. After the sun sets, this place transforms itself into a real nightclub, especaily on friday nights. When a trendy hip hop crowd bumps & grinds the night away to the thumping base.

The DTC Purple Martini is definitely not my crowd. If you want to get all fancy in your best skanky clubbing dress and jam yourself into a pulsating swarm of fellow hip-hop enthusiasts after waiting in line for an hour, then I guess this is the place for you. The only reason I bothered trying to get in on a Saturday night is because I knew the bouncer, so I bypassed the ridiculous line. Once inside, I realized that I was the most dressed-down, beer-drinking, rock music lovin’ gal in the entire place. This place is okay I guess, but it’s so not my bag. I’m not cool enough for the Purple Martini I suppose. :(

Purple Martini DTC is fun and plays HOT music consistently. The crowd is somewhat clicquey so I wouldn’t go alone, hoping to make friends, but with a group of friends it is super fun and you can dance till you drop — or until they turn the lights on and kick you out. Table service is available and reasonable, and that’s the only way you will have a place to sit during the night as it is always SRO. Not your typical downtown casually dressed crowd — the crowd here likes to get dressed up.
