Blackstones Steakhouse

Had a very pleasant experience here at Blackstone’s this evening. Our party of 5 were the only diners in the restaurant; but it was also 4PM on a Sunday so I can’t hold that against them. I personally enjoy the sleek, minimalist décor of neutral grey, black, white — fitting for an upscale steakhouse. But more importantly, the food was top notch. We ordered a variety of appetizers to share, all of which were thoroughly enjoyed and polished off by the table — the bacon was the highlight there; crisp and flavorful, cooked to sizzling perfection with a nice not-​too-​fatty mouth feel. The wedge salad was gigantic — quite possibly an entire head of iceberg lettuce. Caesar salad was standard, good quality lettuce (no brown) and nice Parmesan cheese. All apps and salads we tried were definitely large enough to share, especially considering the sizes of the entrees that follow. A fellow diner and I ordered NY strips, I opted for medium while she chose medium rare — they both came out looking to be cooked to the same temperature, mine could have been cooked a tiny bit more but it was fine regardless, just worth noting. I feel steakhouses sometimes undercook steaks because, well, that’s really how they should be enjoyed. They come out sizzling hot from the broiler and sliced off the bone for you, so you can actually lay your slices on the hot plate and allow them to cook more if you wanted (yes, it’s THAT hot). One thing I did notice was that the steak definitely lacked seasoning — simply salt and pepper is all that’s needed for a steak like that, but it tasted as though it was not even salted at all and I feel that that’s a bit of an important thing to miss, as a chef. But delicious steak nonetheless, super tender and juicy, excellent crust/​char/​sear on the outside that was very pleasant. Their dry aging process really shines through with a unique flavor. Sides were standard and tasty, well cooked and properly seasoned (we shared creamed spinach, Brussels sprouts, and baked potatoes). The service was excellent, elegant, and attentive. Waiters were very polite and coordinated with their efforts to keep us happy and set up. It’s nice to have the slices of steak and sides served onto your plate for you, everyone needs to be treated like royalty once in a while! So, overall, very good experience, would return. Small issues encountered, but nothing I couldn’t simply resolve myself — treat yo’ self at Blackstone’s Steakhouse — carnivores will not be disappointed!

This was my second time in this restaurant. I was using Groupon this time and will not come here ever again.

To be honest, the only reason we decided to try Blackstones in Greenwich was due to our laziness and lack of enthusiasm towards trekking to Wolfgangs on Park. To be fair, my boyfriend had been a frequent patron at the Blackstone location in Mt. Kisco (now closed). We were fairly apathetic but hell bent on finding a decent piece of Chilean Sea Bass. We arrived around 6pm on a Friday and were a bit hesitant, as it was quite empty, save for the few diners at the bar. The décor and ambiance was modern but heavy, the way I like my steakhouses. Our server was very knowledgable, reserved, but in an oddly friendly and warm way. The service was prompt, attentive, and very professional. We each started with the crab cake and bacon appetizer. The portions were very generous and wonderfully presented. Pro tip: ask for their Peter Luger style steak sauce and enjoy with the sizzling bacon. For our main course we obviously opted for the sea bass, which was phenomenal. Again, a generous cut. Delightfully buttery, with just a hint of lemon and butter, truly fantastic. For the finale, we decided on the crème brûlée and tiramisu, both simple, tasty, and as you might expect. Also, nice selection of cordials, my boyfriend chose the Delamain cognac. Overall, I enthusiastically recommend this incredible, local steakhouse. We will definitely be back!

I went here on a groupon and I have to say I thought the food and service was excellent. I enjoy steakhouses and have been to many and Blackstone was a nice experience. The pre fixe menu was full of choices (although it would have been nice to see a porterhouse for two option) and the glass of wine was a good pour with absolutely acceptable quality and a variety of options.
I walked out stuffed and satisfied. I will certainly be back.

Had a very nice dinner. Service was excellent. We had, appetizers of escargot, and the tuna tartar. Our main course was really to die for! Didn’t want my Chilean Sea Bass to end! My husband had the Dover sole! Which the waiter perfectly filleted it in front of us! Portions were nice! We will be back

Ok so the food is exactly that ok, but worse is the service. Staffed by half fast wise guys, half our experience was consumed by wondering whether anyone in this place cares about providing a good service. Something very drastic would have to change to make us come back to this place.

My fiancée and I were celebrating our recent engagement. It’s was a quiet Monday night. I requested a quiet table by the window and we were seated just where I wanted to be upon arrival. She had a special pear cocktail and I had their terrific old fashion. We shared tuna tar tar and local oysters for appetizers.outstanding. For our entrees she had steak tips and I had a grilled veal chop. Veggies were brussel sprouts and potatoes. Wine was a Russian River Pinot. The food, drink and service was an A+. Highly recommended, and I rarely write such reviews.

This place is amazing. Have been here a few times. Once with a colleague, friends and with a big party and every single time I have left overly satisfied with the service, atmosphere and especially the food.
The waiters are super professional and courteous, and always seem to be there when you need them.
The food is to die for, whether you get steak, seafood, pasta, whatever it is you order there you will never be disappointed.
No wonder Blackstone Steakhouse is always rated highly by everyone.
Every chance I get to come here for dinner I take advantage of it, even though I have recently moved about an hour away from it.

WHERE TO START???
I dined with my boyfriend and another couple on a Groupon for 4 (for which I paid $ 190 upfront) — Basically, if you do not wish to be treated as peasants, DO NOT go there on a Groupon… As soon as I mentioned that we were there with one, the service became sub-​par, at best. I will say, the food itself was decent with big portions, but nothing to rave about. In fact, the whole time during dinner, the entire party was talking about how it doesn’t even compare to one of our favorite restaurants, GABRIELE’S — If you want an amazing, mouthwatering meal with impeccable service, please go there… definitely worth spending the money, because there is simply no comparison!!! Our service at Blackstone’s Greenwich was extremely slow and my friend’s husband was not even asked if he would like another drink (3 of us shared a bottle of red, while he had A vodka cranberry). I was so turned off at this point, we all joked «Watch them not even allow doggie bags» — Luckily, they did… otherwise, I may have expressed my severe disdain right then & there. Then, to top it all off, they ended up charging the full amount on my friend’s credit card ($ 404 as opposed to $ 24.15, which is a HUGE difference). They did give him the voided charge, but this just added salt to the wound.
The bad taste in my mouth with this place became even more so the next morning — I realized that my OpenTable reservation was cancelled by the restaurant… my gripe with this is that if you have four (4) no-​shows or restaurant cancellations, OpenTable can cancel your account and relinquish all of your dining points. NOW, I have no problem whatsoever with making the reservation through the restaurant, but there was NOTHING in the fine print of the Groupon stating that I could not do so. Why then is the restaurant canceling this, on my behalf, and then not allowing me to accumulate my points for this disastrous meal? I called the restaurant the next morning and inquired as to why my reservation was cancelled and the response I received was that I couldn’t use both — and I responded «Then you should really put that in your fine print».
Overall, this was a poor experience and I know that I, nor any of my dining partners, will EVER return to ANY of their locations (My boyfriend’s parents live near the Mount Kisco location and the other couple we dined with last night lives down the block from their restaurant in Norwalk) — At least I am happy to know this now… I was going to suggest the Norwalk location for dinner with business clients. My company looks to me to book all of the dinner reservations and so do my family and friends because they know that I am a huge foodie and will only send them to the best places — I assure you that this restaurant will NEVER be recommended… and I will do my best to be sure that everyone I know, who even considers going there, DOESN’T. If I could give it ZERO stars, I would!
PS — The bright side of this story is that OpenTable graciously credited the points to my account for the reservation… At least something good came out of this otherwise unpleasant experience.

I was not particularly impressed by this restaurant. My husband and I went here for a date night. It is a traditional style steakhouse, where you order each part of your dish individually (steaks don’t come with sides, etc). I found it to be not extraordinary steak, and a little over-​priced even for the Greenwich market. The service was good, but nothing over-​the-​top.
Probably won’t go back.

Just got back from this place… Horrible!!! We purchased groupon as a gift for our friends and booked table for four. Our friends ordered everything accordingly to groupon menu and my husband and I ordered salad, pork chop and veal chop, which were too dry for a medium rear.
Our bill was for $ 578 total -$ 190 groupon $ 388 to pay… I understand we ordered 2 bottles of wine in total value of $ 110.00 but it’s still too much for a dry steak and service that is way too slow! We could have an outstanding dinner in a much better place for less that that. Outrageous!

Tonight went to the restaurant to celebrate my husband’s birthday. ordered drinks — ready to order dinner when the waiter said — we cannot order from the menu we had in our hands, with a groupon we must order from different menu. i looked at him with dis-​belief, told him him we will pay the difference that’s no problem. then the manager came over and said — you cannot order from the regular menu — must order from the «groupon menu» that’s groupon’s policy — my reply — i never heard anything like that. then he said «well that’s our policy». we paid for our drink and left. this situation was embarrasing & upsetting. manager was arrogant and rude.
then the manager said — you can order from the regular menu now then use the groupon another time — i looked at him and said, «i don’t think there will be another time.

Just went here tonight with my GF and it was really good. We had a groupon deal for a prix fixed dinner.
I had a glass of Merlot, the Lobster Bisque, Filet Mignon and Cheesecake. My GF had a glass of Pinot Noir, Blackstone Salad, Wild Salmon and Apple Pie. Additionally we ordered a side of Bacon and some Fries. Overall except for a slightly undercooked Steak everything was very good. The service was great (granted we went at 3:30 on a Thursday and there was no one else in the restaurant).
Without the groupon it would have been a very expensive meal, but with it I feel like we got a very good valued meal.

I took clients to dinner here last night, it was a home run and we all had a very pleasant experience. Appetizers were excellent, sizzling bacon was think and not too fatty, escargot not over buttery, and scallops well seared, not over cooked.
Steak were grilled perfectly and of excellent quality (and I know steaks). The bone in Ribeye could not have been better, striploin was on the mark as well. Veal cop was very tender and not over cooked at all.
Sides were reasonably priced and nice portions creamed spinach, rich and creamy, sautéed mushrooms were properly cooked and not mushy at all.
Wine list was reasonably priced, with a nice selection.
I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a great steak. Service is attentive, food spot on, very upscale and perfect for a night out or entertaining clients.

Went to this restaurant for New Years, absolutely the worst experience. Had a reservation but apparently it didn’t mean anything as our table wasn’t prepared when we go there. Waited for about 15 minutes for the table. When we were seated an overwhelmed waiter came over to give us the menus, he was obviously in a rush as the restaurant was packed. Shoved us the menus, said something really fast and ran away. About 5 minutes later, 3 other waiters came over, one brought water, one brought bread and another one changed the table settings. No it introductions nothing, they left as quickly as they came. Our original waiter came back to take our order, while doing so barked at another waiter to quickly being me my drink as my partner already had a drink and I didn’t.
Food came out promptly, steak and sides were good, no complaints there. Our table was so small that it wouldn’t fit the extra side dish. The obviously frustrated waiter asked if he can take away our basket with bread to place the side dish on that place. With all the commotion we were not given steak knifes and no one checked if we liked our food. Meanwhile, on the restaurant floor waiters were running like crazy, people were packed in like sardines. To the point that when another waiter was taking an order from another couple, his backside was awfully close to me and his towel almost caught fire from the candle on our table.
The whole thing took about 40 minutes, I never ate steak so fast in my life. The process was not enjoyable I understand that it was New Year, but why would you pack your clients so tightly that your waiters are going crazy and there is no space to even turn?! We went to another restaurant for dessert.

Here is a good restaurant in a fairly up market area.
A quality steakhouse with a good wine list and attentive waiters.
The food was very good.
Quite expensive but I guess that’s what you would escort in the area.
Value for money? I’m not sure, I know plenty as good or better for less money.
