An awesome experience!
We wanted to get a good donut so we turned to Unilocal!Found this place and decided that the drive was worth a shot.
The place, when getting out of the car smells fantastic! The inside was laid out nice but a little small. We came and they were busy and had to wait a little bit for the donuts and a place to eat them.
We got quite a few different concoctions. My favorite was the Sriracha donut. Reminded me of thai food!!! My next favorite was vanilla frosting and cinnamon sugar. The donuts are a basic cake donut and then allowed you to customize the toppings. I like cake donuts but I love regular donuts more. Wish they had those too.
Price was a little hi when ordering but after getting the donuts they were worth it!

Fun experiment and great donut! A young teenage guy was working the lobby, and was really friendly and helpful. Loved my chocolate donut with bacon on top, and I can’t wait to go again and try another flavor! Or the bacon and chocolate again…

I have been to The Donut Experiment on several occasions and it has been great every time. The donuts are fresh made and then dipped in the warm glaze/​icing. Nothing better than eating a fresh donut from this place! Mmmm Maple Bacon Donuts!

The Donut Experiment of Greenville has ruined me! I have never been a fan or ever liked cake type donuts. Why I decided to try is place is still a mystery. Maybe the fact that the donuts are made to order and I can customize it to my liking. The donuts are AMAZING and so is the customer service! Cake donuts in my past experience were very dense and rich, but not these. They are very light and the flavor is great. The texture is almost a 50⁄50 cake donut and regular donut. When you bite into it you’ll know what I’m talking about. After placing your order you can watch the process of your donuts being made which is always cool.

Oh. My. Gosh. If you even remotely enjoy donuts you NEED to come to the donut experiment, you will become a regular after the first delicious melt in your mouth bite. I had the maple bacon and my hunnie had the maple cinnamon sugar and they were both equally AMAZING!!! Fresh made donuts and you get to choose your own icing and topping for a $ 1.35. This place makes dunkin donuts taste like garbage and even puts Krispy Kreme to shame. This is true donut love

A patient brought in a dozen assorted donuts for our staff this morning– they were still warm and tasted wonderful! I do not usually like cake donuts but these are soft, moist and the chocolate and salted caramel on top make them outstanding.

Solid, delicious cake donuts. The method is to fill out a grid where you select and topping and a flavor. The donuts are good flakey cake donuts, all vanilla flavored. I recommend the caramel sea salt and the maple bacon. A little bit pricey at over a buck per donut, but good experience and great flavored with unique choices to be had.

Everyone here is so friendly! 5 star service! Very fresh cake donuts are moist on the inside and perfectly browned on the outside. The draw is the endless variety of toppings. Got the Bacon dipped Carmel glazed, which was excellent. Will come back for donut break again soon.

Love the concept, and the choices are fun AND delicious. They were recently featured on a local TV spot, so they were super crowded. Their system for fulfilling orders is very inefficient and they were understaffed for the crowd, so the wait was long. However, returning home with all our donut creations, we were met with oohs and ahhs that made it worth the wait. I hope they perfect their process so they can survive. Maple bacon was incredible, and next time I’m trying the Sriracha donut. There are a few tables inside, but most business was carry out.

Such a fun addition the Augusta Road neighborhood. We ordered three donuts. All were delicious and disappeared immediately. They have self serve coffee and also espresso available. Super friendly staff and a wonderful first experience. Can’t wait to have more!
