Pig and Truffle

This night of cooking with Chef Lisa was a wonderful experience and we plan on going back. Chef Lisa is over the top talented and experienced. Her personality is one of a kind. The menu was melt in your mouth delicious. Her kitchen is immaculate. She provides so much detail and mails recipes at the conclusion of the class.
Plan a night out with friends and bring some great wines for a night you will not forget. It is a unique experience and one that is worth every penny.
The property is beautiful and you can tell she and her husband pay close attention to detail. Mark (husband) is a down to earth great guy!

Where to begin? I made reservations 2 months in advance for eight of us to celebrate my wife’s birthday. Chef Lisa kept in touch during that time to help us with our menu, any adjustments, information, and questions. When our date finally came, we arrived on a beautiful, and I believe, historic property. You drive thru a gated access road and thru the grounds: a small pond sits on the right, with a babbling brook running nearby as well. When you drive by the pig statue, you cannot help but smile. Passing an amazing farm house on the left and circling around a fountain, we park in front of an aged and beautiful barn that harkened back to days gone by. A few horses roam near by as we are greeted outside by the amazing Chef Lisa, whom immediately hugs and kisses us all like we are long lost family that finally made it back home. We all chat outside for a bit, learning about the property and the Chef herself. We are then guided to the Chef’s private building dubbed «The Pig and Truffle», complete with an outdoor patio area with a huge stone hearth/​fireplace to enjoy if you choose. The main room is set up as a fully equipped and beautiful kitchen with a large «social area» to enjoy the wine we brought, socialize amongst ourselves, and with the Chef and her staff and they put on an amazing show of craftsmanship and conversation while preparing our food. There is also a lounge room with a wine refrigerator/​bar and is just a wonderfully decorated and comfortable place to be. There is also a spiral staircase leading up to a loft that houses a cozy lounge area as well. We watch, laugh, listen, learn, interact, and drink as the staff teaches us their signature tips, tricks, and processes while preparing our wonderful starter, appetizer, entrée with side, and dessert. The Chef and her staff are an eclectic bunch– at times dancing and/​or singing to the background music, cracking jokes, barking orders at each other, and do on. You can’t help but smile and raise your eyebrows as you watch Chef be herself while working her magic in the kitchen. Chef Lisa is quite well renowned in this country (just google her!) and has trained in furnace, worked in England, and loves what she does, and it shows. The menu options change often with the seasons and I won’t go into what my party had, but I will say that every bite of every course was absolutely spectacular. Chef Lisa’s skills would be hard to rival. The staff: Mark (Chef’s husband), Noah, and Leah were all wonderful. Friendly, personable and amazing Sous Chef’s as well, they made us all feel at home. They were always happy and willing to answer questions, didn’t mind when we got in the wY to take pictures or watch what they were doing. They loved to interact and converse with us all. Simply put, Mark, Noah, and Leah complimented and balanced the whole experience with aplomb and expertise. They were great! Now… this place us not cheap, but not nearly expensive as you would think it should be, and it’s worth every penny. From the beautifully defined «folders» for each guest, to the little gift from the chef for my wife
(her birthday), to the recipes that get emailed to you after it all… this not your typical dinner out. It is an event. You will spend three hours here at least and the time flies when enjoying yourself this much. This is a great place for get together a of all kinds and we will be back… many times! Call ahead to reserve a cooking class for your group. You will have lots of fun and learn some great cooking techniques as well. This is not your typical dining experience, it’s much more interactive and unique. The food is delicious and you will want to go back.
