History

Established in 1972.

Tex and Shirley Moore opened Tex & Shirley’s Pancake House in the Friendly Shopping Center in January of 1972. Seventeen years later they sold the restaurant to long time manager and friend, Bart Ortiz and retired to their home state of Texas. In 2005 Bart opened a second location in High Point near the Palladium.

Today Bart owns and operates the High Point location and his oldest son Bart owns and operates the Friendly Shopping Center location in Greensboro, NC.

Tex & Shirley’s Pancake house was named a Greensboro Icon by O. Henry Magazine and has been voted «Best Breakfast in the Triad» numerous times.
