Once Upon A Child Greensboro

With 2 kids, I have tried a lot of second hand/​consignment/​resale stores to try to save cash. Once Upon A Child is by far my favorite. It’s organized really well and the selection is HUGE! I’ve gotten clothes, sporting equipment, toys, baby items and shoes here and had success with it all. Great place for finding school uniforms too! I have also started selling some things to OUAC and I like that you just drop off a bin, they go through it and make you an offer. I don’t have time for all that tagging and organizing for consignment.

So I took a container of items that were no longer needed to sell… please note… All items were in pristine condition… Some still with tags attached.
I did have a pretty good experience… The lady that helped me when I first got there didn’t say hello… Welcome… Her first words are let me see your drivers license… Okay I understand you must see those but what happened to customer service… It would have been nice to get a smile… acknowledgment…
So then she tells me that it will be a two hour wait… No problem… I asked what time I at least needed to be back by… She said they close at 9. So in the meantime… I proceeded to run other errands in the area… There are some other great stores and eateries in the area…
So around about 8 pm, I return to pick up my items… I can definitely tell the store is not as busy… I see associates cleaning up/​organizing… I guess that’s what you call it… There were PILES of clothes literally laying on the floor in the aisles… maybe use a rack/​table… Anything but the floor… they took 23 of my items… I’m going to estimate and say I took in about 40… I received $ 39.45… So not bad considering the items were no longer needed. Now while I was in there, I searched for some shorts for my nephew… They had a pair of blue «starter» shorts in a size 14 for $ 2.50… Not bad at all… However… As I proceeded to look… There was another pair… Identical… Same quality as the aforementioned shorts for 8.50… Now please explain to me that variance… again I understand that color… Size… Current quality… All cause fluctuations but these were identical… I was so taken back… I studied both pairs for quite a while…
They also have clearance items up front for infants… check those out!
Overall what I expected on terms of the selling process… But better customer service is needed and if you don’t want to wait as long… go fell during the week!
