Established in 1997.

Initially, Heart of Living, LLC was a free-​stantding art gallery. After the economic issues became so serious, we decided to open an e-​commerce site as a diviision of Heart of Living, LLC.

Backyard Bird Retreats (back​yard​bir​dretreats​.com) is a new division of Heart of Living, LLC which was originally formed to be a storefront art gallery. As the economy took a nose-​dive, I was forced to close my gallery. However, I am a great fan of art in all of its various froms, I decided to create a website that would support people who love to be out in nature and who particularly love birds, What is greater art than nature? The site is a comprehensive e-​commerce store for birding products and information. We carry many various types of bird houses, feeders, seed and other foods, bird baths (including accessories to keep the water from freezing in very low temperatures, bird watching supplies, unique and special items for home or garden that make wonderful gifts and even have a «Kids Corner» so that we can begin early to interest children and even teens in nature and science.
