I like this library a lot. The parking lot and the entrance into the place is a little funky. There are tons of signs pointing you in all types of directions(essentially taking you to the elevator) whereas, you can just take a few extra steps across the street and be there. Anyways, the staff is always friendly, the inside is pretty retro feeling, but it’s pretty. I’m not someone who demands silence in a library, but there’s always a few older men in the back talking pretty loudly, reading their newspapers. Don’t bother looking at the computers from the front though, the only thing you’ll see is people on their Facebook pages or playing candy crush, but hey, I guess that’s not my business! They have a nice selection, and if they don’t have what you’re looking for, they’ll help you find it or they’ll put you on a wait list. I like it, and I’ll keep going.

The central public library is located in the business area. It is pretty big and has a sizable selection of books for all ages and topics. The staff is very helpful.

The main library is an absolute gem in downtown Greensboro and complements the city’s library system. I love this place because of the adult non-fiction-you can always find many, many titles, older and newer. This branch is almost always busy, but I like the fact that there is ample quiet and study space even at peak times. The architecture is a place-big windows facing the rest of the downtown. I particularly like sitting by the periodicals(on the far left wall of the main entrance) as there are floor to ceiling windows. The staff are a mixed bag-I’ve dealt with some folks who were curt while others, particularly the reference staff, answered questions in-depth. Parking is free in the deck for the 1st hour and one can always parallel park a block or two for free. Overall, its a great experience and its conveniently located to the cultural district in downtown Greensboro.

I love this library. It’s great for studying. They have a nice selection of dvd’s and book’s on cd’s to choose from. Upstairs is really nice, clean and quiet to study. There are lots of plugs to charge your laptop and the bathrooms are clean. The lady at the front desk isn’t the friendliest around, but not rude. You can park on the street which is metered or in the parking garage. The first hour is free but you have to remember to stamp your parking ticket when leaving the library. There is a cute coffee shop in the front of the library. I’ve went to a Non-Profit event in one of the their meeting spaces and it was very nice. Sound quality and projection screen was great. Definitely consider the library for meeting spaces.
