I have not utilized the rentals or anything in this center, but I very much enjoy that I can walk in most any day and see some great art walking through the dining area. You can also climb the stairs and there is more art hanging along the walls in the hallways of local artists’ studios. And if you’re lucky or brave you can meet some artists and introduce yourself like I did! Thanks for being in Greenfield!

THEBAD: The main issue we had when we arrived at the venue was that our seating was not at all as my husband and I had discussed with Bev beforehand. We brought this up to the women left in charge on the day of(a Bev had a family emergency and was not going to be there) and were told this we are incorrect and this is what is traditional and what they were told to do. We did not request a head table and only wanted a sweetheart table. This not only caused problems with our family during the reception but made what should have been an enjoyable evening extremely stressful and emotional. We loved the table seating Bev had planned on a chart for us and were looking forward to having some alone time during our reception. Instead tears were shed due to the stress of family feuds arising from the seating not being correct and family members were trying to rearrange where they were placed. Such a factor should not have been overlooked or told that we, the bride and groom, were incorrect. We have never been traditional nor strive to be and had reasons for why we did not want a head table. Also, my husband and his groomsmen attempted to visit the reception beforehand to make sure that everything was set up as planned. They went to the venue around 11 am and no one was there. The doors were locked and they couldn’t contact anyone from the office. When we signed our contract we were told that someone would be there all day in case our cake delivery was running early or any other problems occurred. This could have prevented a lot of other issues such as our cake topper not being placed on our cake until an hour into our reception because it was not«found» and an adorable Lego bride and groom figure set which was already assembled and needed only to be taken out of its box to be placed anywhere they wanted. Instead, the entire box with the bride and groom inside was on the ‘favor’ table awkwardly displayed for what reason our guests had no idea. I literally had to take the box and throw it under the table to hide it Also, we weren’t too happy with the fact that our guests were being solicited for the centers Second Friday events from one of the coordinators left in charge during our wedding reception. As someone whose career is based on customer service and hospitality this was unacceptable. I understand the need for exposure on events given from the center but on the day of someone’s wedding and at their reception of all things this is just beyond unprofessional. If exposure was needed brochures or handouts could have been available by the bar etc. My husband and I love the arts and support all local businesses but a sales pitch should not be done during a wedding reception even nearing the end of the event. THEGOOD: However, despite the bumps that occurred the DJ that was recommended(Kevin Miller ) was phenomenal and really helped to calm everything down as best as he could. He literally saved me from crying hysterically before our wedding party announcement and lightened the mood when our guests were agitated about what was going on. The food was also extremely delicious and our guests raved on how good everything tasted. The bar was also quite the hit ;) At the end of it all everyone had a good time but my husband and I were beyond stressed by the time we left for our honeymoon. We are truly grateful our guests ended up enjoying their evening after the disasters that were faced but unfortunately we will remember our reception as it was for the rest of our lives.

I just had my wedding and reception here on June 19, 2010. It was fabulous! Bev and Bob Hunt were amazing to work with throughout the entire process. I’m a total control freak, so it was a little scary for me to let go and have someone else take care of the details. Boy am I glad I did! Everything that Bev and Bob had a hand in was perfect — the food, the setup, drinks, tables, dressing rooms, I couldn’t be happier! We used the same room for both the ceremony and the reception and the flipping of the room was done expertly. Our guests were amazed at the efficiency with which everything was done. Bev and Bob also had an in-house wedding organizer who was with us the whole day. Mandy Neff was an amazing asset to the day. She worked her tail off, making sure that everything ran smoothly and all was perfect. If you need a location near Indianapolis, consider this one. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed!
