This is by far my favorite piece of architecture in the Milwaukee area. Yes, in a metro with Frank Lloyd Wright, Eschweiler and Calatrava this in my favorite building. Our Shepherd was designed by Wisconsin architect William Wenzler. I met Mr. Wenzler on the Doors Open Milwaukee event. Why his work isn’t as famous as the other three men I mentioned previously is a mystery to me.
What makes this structure interesting to me is it’s location. Here’s this non-​traditional sculpture of triangles, glass and concrete that resides in sleepy Greendale. It’s curious that the church doesn’t seem that proud of the building on their website.
I’m a graphic designer with an architecture hobby. I walked around this building taking photos and I still can’t wrap my head around it. It’s worth a visit to see OR you can check out the photos I took here on Unilocal.
