They are the best and fixed my iMac when my hard drive crashed. The guys were able to retrieve and save all my data on the crashed hard drive and load it onto the new hard drive and install it in my iMac. I’m in the tech industry and I would have been «dead-​in the-​water» without them. Keep up the good work and thank you for getting me up and running again.

Places like this thrive on being experts and often dispense free advice in hope they earn your business immediately or at a later date. They deserve credit for that I am appreciative. To wit, per their recommendation, I spent $ 140 on a router with these guys where it was widely available for $ 80. Purchased in sept 2013.
I was getting poor internet performance and the comcast repair guy took 1 second to look at my router and told me it was a 3 year old product and was the reason for the degradation in performance. Comcast swapped it out and performance tripled.
Open to paying a premium for product and for the advice but then expect things to work as advised.

Last week our internet router decided to reset itself randomly and then changed it’s IP address so our Windows computer from the dinosaur ages couldn’t recognize its signal. For a small business where we use the internet for basically everything we found ourselves pretty screwed. We called to make an appointment for someone to come out to our office but they had a 3 day wait time until their next available appointment. Bummed but not surprised (since they in my opinion are the best around) we decided to wait. Later that afternoon Karl gave us a call and said something along the lines of «I thought i’d give you a call since your internet is down and I know how hard that can be to work around. I have an opening in my schedule and could come out right now, if that works!» We were thrilled to say the least. He not only was at our office in less than 15 minutes but he showed up with a box of different routers and cables, he seemed prepared for anything. Long story short, he resolved the problem with ease! He walked me through the process of what was wrong/​happened and how he had fixed it. He even took the time to recreate our internet account information, check each computer to make sure the internet was working and he even made sure our wifi printer was connected and working as well.
Karl has been our savior for the second time now. Both times he came out to our office he was able to diagnose and solve the problem in less than two hours. He gives us advice on how to fix the problem incase it happens again, gives us feedback and keeps us updated on what he is seeing and working on AND will recommend or offer alternatives solutions to prevent future problems!
We are extremely happy with computer connections and we highly recommend them!

I’ve been having CC fix my machines for the last 10 years. I’ve never been disappointed. There prices on hardware replacement parts are high but they let you buy somewhere else. I had them install a Samsung 840 1TB SSD I bought on sale at Amazon in place of an d drive and it took them less than an hour.
Highly recommend.

I have brought a PC to Computer Connection several times over the last few years. Sometimes they tell me «it’s not worth it to fix it». Sometimes they just fix it while I’;m standing there.
Today walked in my Toshiba laptop and the CTRL key top that I had removed because it was sticking because of dog hair. I had tried to replace the key on my own and failed. I tried to follow the instructions i found online and failed again. I wrapped up the pieces and brought my hangdog look to Morgan at Computer Connection and said I was going down the way to Bistro Vis a Vis for lunch. He called while I was at lunch and said «I had it fixed 3 minutes after you left.» I was afraid he wasn’t going to charge me and since this was a HUGE value to me I demanded a charge. He complied. I want to make sure that these guys stay around, not just tell me «you’re a valued customer we appreciate your business» and I don’t give them any business.‘
I left as a satisfied customer, as usual.

I just got my computer back from being worked at this shop. I had selected Computer Connection for the work because of their high ratings. The main thing is my computer is now working and their explanation of the problem made sense (Microsoft update issues and overheating on the part of the hardware); however, getting that explanation was like pulling teeth and they kept the computer almost one week for ¹¹⁄₂ hour of work. Still the charge was $ 174. I’d use this service again if I had to, but first I would try to find someone with more customer sensitivity.

:-) I stopped in today with a laptop power cord problem. :-) I left with the solution and more. :-) Karl gave me some very helpful hints. :-) He certainly went above and beyond what I expected. :-) And, he kept my solution within my meager budget!!! :-)

Today 01/​29/​2014. Contrary to other comments, they know a lot about computers and its not always about the money. I had malware on my tower yesterday. It was awful. Couldn’t find a fix that didn’t cost me money on the net. frustrated, I called my guys at CC. In 1 minute I was told of a free software that would take care of it. They could have said bring it in. NOPE!!! And I’m good to go. Exceeding my expectations as usual. WTG guys. This is why I come back. Not because they did this free. Because they treat me like a valued customer.

I’ve been very happy with the quality of service and repairs there. They’ve built two of my computers and have been happy with them. I’m an IT guy and I get impressed with their knowledge and skills.

They do generally good work, but just what’s needed. I wish they would offer more options instead of JUST what you ask, since we’re not all immersed in those options every day

I needed a wireless internet card for my old Sony Vaio desk top computer and at this point still prefer the type that is snapped into the slot in the motherboard rather than connecting through the USB port. I tried some major computer stores in San Rafael and they only had the flash drive type of remote wireless. I figured it might be worth the drive to go down to Computer connection and see what they had. Not only did they have a wireless card it was super reasonable and under $ 30.00. Very helpful attentive service and I much appreciate it!

I took in my ASUS notebook that was getting errors about the video driver after having already downloaded the latest driver. I told CC that I thought it needed a new video card. $ 125 and two days later they downloaded a driver and said it was working. It worked for 2 days. I brought it back in. It took 3 more days to tell me that I needed a new video card, but they can’t fix it themselves. They need to send it to the manufacturer. $ 125 for nothing!!! Best in Marin 2012??? I will look elsewhere next time I need help.

If you value your programs and data, stay away from this place. I brought my computer in because the «C» drive was filling up with «garbage.» They fixed that problem (I just found out, only temporarily). When I got home, to my astonishment, several programs and some very important data was missing. I brought the computer back, with a program disk which they installed, but they could not find the data. Their Website states «…or even by backing up your data…» They did not do this and they deny any wrong doing. I requested a refund of $ 248, but I never heard from the manager. I reported this to the BBB; Computer Connection never responded to them. Obviously they don’t care about customer satisfaction. Bottom line: My programs and data were all on the computer and working when I brought it in, but many were missing when I got the computer back. Who’s fault is that? Now I find out the one thing they did fix, is broken again. Stay away!

By far the best computer repair shop in Marin… and you get what you pay for. They aren’t the cheapest guys in town, but they are by far the most knowledgeable. The store itself is pretty nice, being at Bön air shopping center… every time I have been in it is both clean and organized. For as long as I can remember it is the same group of people working there, and as a customer it is nice having both myself and my computer remembered. I’ve done everything from buying new build computers here to having them remove viruses, upgrade ram etc. Whenever I need a couple minutes of advice over the phone they are pretty good about it too…

This place is a joke. I had them look at my computer because I thought it had a virus. I came by a few days later and it turns out it did (according to them). The man said he had been working on it for a few hours and he said it had a virus. They wanted around $ 180 to fix it so I simply got my laptop and left the store. They seemed VERY mad and angry that I didn’t pay for their services. I brought my computer elsewhere and it turns out it didn’t have a virus. These guys at Computer Connection are a bunch of
scammers. Stay far, far away from this place.

Or maybe I didn’t have a virus in the first place? Maybe you just wanted my money?
Or maybe you did remove the virus? That wouldn’t make much sense though because I didn’t authorize you to do that or pay for any such services.

My HP computer was on the verge of crashing last week & I brought it in to see if it was worth fixing; appreciated their honesty about the condition of my computer. It was essentially over and time for something new. They went ahead and built an ASUS for me and salvaged the programs from the old HP, even able to find my Outlook address book which had completely disappeared before coming in. Professional group of guys and extremely knowledgeable. Highly recommend.

Computer Connection built my machine (ASUS 800 motherboard) about four years ago and it has worked well. Recently I filled up the hard drive and took the computer back to them to add a newer bigger faster better hard drive, another GB of RAM, DVD burner and other stuff totalling over $ 400 — including all the software and data work and of course the backup. Price seems hefty up front but they stay with it until every last nit is fixed — so you get a good job, no surprise extra charges and it’s cheaper over-​all.

My computers have crapped out on me several times, and when in I’m Marin, this is the place I go to get them working again. The guys that work here are very skilled at repairing computers, and are very friendly and helpful throughout the process. Their price for labor isn’t too cheap, but is it anywhere? If you ever need help with you computer, it just isn’t working, or is just plain broken, this is the place to go to. Fast and effective.
