Description

Specialties

The Law Offices of Richard P. Arnold provides top-quality legal representation for cases involving DWI, DUI, sex offenses and traffic violations. As a multi-service criminal defense firm, we are also able to aid our clients with representation in administrative proceedings outside the normal courtroom setting by State Administrative Law Judges in areas which overlap the criminal justice system. Examples of such hearings include Department of Transportation hearings dealing with license revocation and the Social Service Department hearings in juvenile and sex crime matters. We also handle arrest warrants and bail bond issues.

History

Established in 1987.

After spending one year in his clerkship, the next step of Attorney Richard P. Arnold’s legal career took him to the Prince George’s County State’s Attorney’s Office, where he served as an Assistant State’s Attorney. In 1974, he was admitted to practice before the United States District Court, District of Maryland, the United States District Court for the District of Columbia, and the United States Supreme Court. He was promoted to Division Chief in 1979. During this entire period, he gained exposure to the full range of criminal law as practiced in Maryland and built his reputation as a talented criminal law practitioner. In 1985, he became the Chief Special Counsel for the Attorney General of the State of Maryland, where he served for two years.

In 1987, he left state service and opened his private criminal law practice, where he turned his experience to the service of criminal defendants throughout central Maryland.
