Kaplan did a great job on our driveway. They always had a supervisor on location and the crew was very polite and extremely clean. We had to reschedule a few times and they were extremely patient with that. Price was very reasonable as well. All in all a really great experience thank you for the new driveway!

We needed the driveway redone. They came out right away and did the estimate. We were scheduled as soon the weather allowed and my paperwork, permit and deposit were received. They were very respectful of our property. They cleaned up after themselves. The driveway is beautiful. We are happy customers.

We have used Kaplan Pavement Services two times for sealcoating our 532 square foot asphalt driveway. The two workers arrived at the predetermined time and were very polite. They first applied a layer of material to fill cracks in the asphalt. The workers then applied the sealcoat material. They were very neat with no excess material on the grass or concrete sidewalk. Very fair price. The driveway now looks like new. Sealcoating is the best way to preserve your asphalt driveway and Kaplan is the absolute best! Highly recommend Kaplan Pavement Services!

Kaplan seal coated my driveway. Pretty simple job. Communication was good leading up to the job and everything was done as expected. No complaints.

Kaplan does a fantastic professional job! They put in a new driveway for me, complete with building up the surface so it would drain properly away from the house and yard. They also did a seal coating for me this year, 1 year after putting in the new drive. All my neighbors have commented on how beautiful it looks and what a great improvement it is to my property. Thank you Kaplan! I am referring you to all of my friends and neighbors!

Read the reviews people. This company does not care about the job they do. I have been waiting 3 years for them to do a job that takes 2 days. And they still send me bills stating I’m past due.
This is a joke. Business must be real good that they don’t care about customers. Go somewhere else and Do Not Pay until the job is complete.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! When I felt they did a substandard job sealcoating my driveway, I waited for a month with empty promises of them to look at it, and rectify the situation. Never happened.
They are very courteous and quick to take your money at the start of a job, then you fall on deaf ears after.

5÷21÷16 Jason and his crew came out and seal coated my driveway. They did a fantastic job. It looks brand new. They turned a bad experience into a positive one in the end. They fixed the issues and I am happy with the final product. Jason is a huge asset to the company and I recommend if you have issues, to deal directly with him. He is willing to fix any issue and sees it through till the end.
Update…Jason from the company was more than helpful and wanting to fix the problem. Jason had a crew completely replace the driveway and pitch and drain it properly. I am satisfied with the final product. They did resolve the issues once Jason took over the account.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They paved a new asphalt driveway and did not pitch/​drain it properly. I stated from day one I was having pitch issues with water. They claimed no problem they could fix it. Well certainly they did not, and after calling them to let them know the issue, instead of cutting out the problem they just patched over and created a larger hill of asphalt on a new driveway. LOOKS HORRIBLE. should look like a brand new drivweway, it certainly does not. There is absolute zero communication between the people in that office. Not one person knows what the other is doing and even each worker who claims they are proficient in asphalt has a different way to fix/​handle the problem, in turn going against what the other guy reccommended. They have zero communication/​customer service skills, and not one person has an idea of proper asphalt knowledge. It is a shame I used them, please do not use this company as you will be throughly disappointed with their service and not at all be happy with the results. Save your money and go somewhere else. (I can go on with the issues/​problems/​conversations I continue to have and have had in the past with this company, but spare yourself the hassle and look elsewhere)

We had Kaplan Pavement Services remove and replace our asphalt driveway in Huntley. Everyone we came in contact with at Kaplan was very friendly and courteous. The job was done within a week and they did an excellent job. We are pleased with their work and would recommend them to others.

Very bad follow up to deal with substandard job. Part of our driveway caved in! Have made numerous calls and only get the run around. DO NOT USE THEM!!!

First I wanted to say thanks to Lee who came out to estimate the job and a special thanks to Karen in the office. I had Kaplan out today to replace our driveway i could not be happier with the results. The crew was very friendly very neat and they did an awesome job. I read some of the reviews here prior to hiring Kaplan and have to admit i was a little nervous, but Kaplan was given to me as a referral from one of my best friends who works in Libertyville and i totally trust him as he does a lot of roadwork himself. I am so glad i followed my instincts. I could not be happier with the price the results and the quick turnaround time from excavation of old driveway to replacement. Have been trying to get them to do a job for 3 months! Always an excuse, always no action! They are a very confused, dysfunctional company that does not seem to care one bit about their customers.
I would find another vendor!

This is the most confused business I have ever seen, Karen in the office is clueless, she doesn’t return calls, doesn’t have a clue to whats going on even though she is in charge of the office and scheduling.
Made the appointment a month in advance to have my driveway completely redone, I set it up so it would line up with the brick company I had doing the border. On the day Kaplan was supposed to be to my house to remove the old driveway, no one showed up. When I called and talked to Karen, she first told me that the crew called in sick, I asked her how does an entire crew call in sick and then she told me they had scheduling problems and took me off the schedule on Friday yet no one called me to tell me that.
Now this messes everything up, I spoke to Mike and he stepped up and got a crew there the next day for the tear out, yet couldn’t promise when the would install. He then called me Wednesday night and said the village inspector would be there Thursday and They would be there Thursday afternoon so we needed to get the inspector out first thing on Thursday, When I called the village first thing Thursday morning to see if they could come out right away, they told me the inspector would have been there Wednesday, but when they called Kaplan on Wednesday morning they got an answering machine and no one ever called them back.
Long story short, Kaplan was able to pave my driveway on Friday since the brick company was coming Saturday and they got the jib done, the only problem was they were supposed to leave the asphalt 8 inches from the edge for the brick guy to final cut and install the border and they asphalted the entire driveway. The estimator Dave told my wife it looked better that way and we shouldn’t do a brick border anyway, REALLY??? Thats not what I asked for!
I think the work they did was good, I just think they have major organization issues and add much more stress to the situation than need be, I would be hard pressed to refer them or use them again!

I had Kaplan rip out and put in a new driveway, plus expand it a bit. It looked great at first, but within months, the driveway developed long large cracks where they had expanded it leading me to believe that it had settled. I figured since it happened so soon, they would at least patch the cracks for me, I wasn’t expecting a re-​pour or anything. All of my calls were ignored so I eventually took a day off from work and showed up at their door. I finally got the patches done, but it only lasted a few months before they came back. I left it that way for another couple years until I needed some other maintenance. I thought maybe I should give them a try again and it would be OK since I’d be paying for it. They made an appointment to come out and look at it, but came on their own during the day when I wasn’t home, and didn’t bother to tell me. I sat around my house waiting for them for most of an evening, but they never showed. I finally got the estimate and was ready to go but had a couple questions. They never bothered to respond so I decided not to use them. They’re extremely inconsiderate. I would have to agree with the person who said they have no customer service. They are very frustrating and irritating to deal. It all worked out as it forced me to try and find someone else, which I did. The other company did a good job (for 40% less!) and treated me well too.

We had our gravel driveway graded and asphalted by Kaplan. True, the scheduling had some unexpected delays but we are happy with the workmanship. The price was fair also.

I used Kaplan Paving for a street openning repair and they were fantastic!

Had Kaplan lay an entire new driveway (huge driveway); didn’t slope the center correctly, so that now the rain/​snow collects into a big pool in the middle. Called and emailed for MONTHS to have job redone, only to have excuse after excuse, and then totally ignored me. DON’T USE THEM!!! They will take your money and you will never get the job done to completion. Terrible, terrible, customer service (none).

I have no issues with the driveway seal coating. I would recommend this company to friends and family. Price was competitive and scheduling was easy. Workers were on time, fast and efficient.
