Total Relocation Services

I am writing to express my gratitude, and, frankly, my near disbelief at how well the move went with Total Relocation Services/​Mayflower. From the time I first called and all the way to the end, I received the best service.
I have to express my thanks especially to Kurt, the sales guy who was a professional through and through. He answered all my nagging questions, noticed an error in the initial invoice which saved me a couple of hundred bucks, called me the day before I traveled to the moving location simply to say ‘safe travels’, and brought me some leftover boxes on the day of my move. On top of it all, he was polite. As a jaded easterner, I appreciate those Midwestern manners.
The movers he arranged arrived when he said they would, and really packed things well. They, too, were polite. On the receiving end, they were very efficient and equally pleasant.
I can’t really ask for more in a moving company. I did my research, calling on 7 or 8 companies to transport items in a storage unit in Wisconsin to my parents’ place in Massachusetts, and Total Relocation Services came in very competitively. One other company was slightly cheaper, but their customer service gave me the impression that they didn’t care much.
If I could use TRS for all my future moving needs, I would. Through the years, I’ve almost come to expect a bad experience when I move, but these guys proved me wrong. They did not request that I write this, nor are they paying me or giving me a discount — I’m simply giving credit and appreciation where it’s due.

The process started our great, with our relocation expert helpful and always available for questions and assistance. When the actual packers came is when the problems started. Complaints from the moment the walked in the house. How long of a day it was going to be, how much they needed to pack, etc. I ended up packing numerous boxes to move the process along. Things that I ASKED not to be packed were packed, random personal items were just shoved in boxes. One example when we started to unpack was a new leather purse from 3’rd floor master bedroom closet shoved inside a turkey fryer pan (not protected in anyway) from the basement. Many boxes are miss-​marked. We have only unpacked about 15% as we are in temporary housing awaiting our new home to be built. I am very FEARFUL to see what I find when I do get to my personal belongings in the next few months.
On a pleasant note the actual «movers» and «driver» were excellent!

It’s really hard to find a good moving company — I know, I’ve moved to four different states and two countries in the past few years! But I completely recommend the guys at Total Relocation Services.
I recently moved from Green Bay to New Jersey and, after getting the typical run-​around from the large national moving companies (you know, the ones who sound good but can’t actually tell you exactly when they will come get your stuff, or when they’ll drop it off? And who call you repeatedly giving you the hard sell?) my husband and I decided to check out a smaller, local company, hoping we would get a better offer.
We definitely did — in fact, TRS came in cheaper than the other companies. Also, there is no B.S. with this company — someone comes out and looks at what you have to move, then gives you a quote — and that quote doesn’t change. So no surprises on moving day.
Dick, who we worked with, was able to give us a window of just a couple hours when he said the movers would come pick up our belongings, and they were right on time. Throughout the move, Tony, our mover, kept in touch with me, letting me know when he would get to our new apartment. He got here on time, was very friendly, and as he was moving, I got a followup call from TRS making sure everything was going OK. Very professional!
It’s often frustrating to deal with moving companies — especially if you don’t have a whole huge house worth of belongings to move, because then you often get treated like a second-​class customer. But not so with TRS — I would recommend them in a heartbeat to anyone doing a local or a cross-​country move.
