NEW Zoo & Adventure Park

It has been a couple years since I have come here and I have been going since I was really little. They have done a ton of renovations on this place since I have been here last. A new food pavilion, new monkey enclosure etc. The updates are great and I cannot wait to see how the changes over time will help this little zoo really make the map will you. There was a long line to get it due to it being a nice day. They really should have had two registers open to handle the large amount of people that wanted to get in. Once inside the animals were active and most of the enclosures were well kept. Watching children fed the giraffes was the highlight of the day. I will for sure stop in again on a nice day.

I’ve been going to this Zoo since I was little and it was just starting. So many improvements have been made through the years and it’s a great zoo to have so close to home. The giraffes are my favorite exhibit!

My gosh. Great zoo. From Chicago and even though it’s smaller I would rather go here the Lincoln park. Got to feed the giraffes and the people are so nice. Even strangers say hello.

From a visit September 2013: Was delightfully surprised by this little zoo, out in the country nearby to Green Bay. Would definitely recommend if you’re in the area, and if you have small children.
I visit Wisconsin yearly to visit family, and I have fond memories as a child going to the Milwaukee Zoo, and was thinking of taking my little one. My SIL said, «no way — you need to check out the Green Bay Zoo instead — way better». Haven’t been to the Milwaukee Zoo in a long time, so I can’t say if it’s way better or not, but I definitely enjoyed it, as did my 15mo old little girl.
Ended up going as a family outing — 7 adults, and 4 kids, and everyone seemed to enjoy it. The highlight probably were the giraffes. Getting up close and personal with them was really neat! The rest of the animal exibits were really nice too, and the variety was great. It wasn’t overwhelmingly exotic animals either — I liked that they had more of what could be found locally, such as the bear, badgers, and wolves. Overall, everything was in a really nice setting, and the animals and their exhibit spaces definitely looked well taken care of, which unfortunately is sometimes not the case in smaller zoos.
The only downside, for whatever reason, we were not given a map of the zoo, and because of that ended up wondering around a lot. While it’s a not a big zoo, it was warm day for mid-​September, and by lunchtime we were all exhausted and chose to not see the rest of the exhibits.
Will be returning this year definitely. My little one is older and can probably enjoy the zoo a little bit more. Expect to see us again this May!
Update — from a visit May 2014: Wanted to check this zoo out again since my little one was nearing 2 and could appreciate it more. Plus, I wanted to do something on my yearly Wisconsin trip that was just me and her. And we had so much fun! She especially loved the aviary.
Anyways, this time I made sure we got a map, although I still got a little turned around by trying to get to the giraffes first. After that, the zoo map was cake, and we were able to visit all the animals. My little one love all of them, especially the birds and the monkeys. The bald eagle was just beautiful! Although the moose was hiding behind a tree. The petting zoo area was really neat too — they had baby goats everywhere! And she really enjoyed the little kids playground area.
Love this place, and I think it’s going to become a regular attraction for me and my little one from now on. Definitely recommend this place if you want a little zoo, that’s off from the beaten track, and has a slower pace.

We visited the NEW Zoo on an especially cold day (about 20 degrees), so some exhibits were not available. We had the zoo practically to ourselves. A surprising number of animals were out, however, and there are several indoor exhibits as well. The giraffe interaction was AMAZING. One of the coolest things I’ve done. The volunteer who was running it was very knowledgeable and personable, and spent a lot of time educating us since the zoo was so slow.
The front desk staff was not terribly friendly and didn’t seem to know what was going on.
Admission is very affordable. I would love to visit again in better weather.

It’s hard to judge the zoo during this time of year (mid-​nov) since many of the animals were not outside. The giraffe feeding was fun and seeing some of the animals up close was cool. Good prices for a family outing $ 6 for adults and $ 4 for kids.

Awesome zoo!!! The kids petting zoo was nice, and admission was cheap. The lions were sitting by the windows, peacocks freely roaming the park, and the otters gave us quite a show! Overall I think it is an awesome zoo, and if I lived near Green Bay I would visit more often, but am only here on vacation.:) highly recommend

I love animals and I hate zoos. It breaks my heart to see creatures trapped and held up in captivity so us humans can «ooh» and «ahh» over them. I don’t know… maybe it’s the sad look on their faces that scream «get me the eff out of here». Anyhow, I’ll spare you all the PETA rant…
NEW Zoo has got it together.
Set back in the North Eastern Wisconsin woods, NEW Zoo is small, quaint and gives the animals somewhat of a natural habitat to live in. Peacocks roamed freely among the zoo, goats were ready to eat goat friendly snacks from the hands of kids, and giraffes were able to chill out in their massive pen while being hand-​fed crackers from kids. Needless to say, this place is not only fantastic for seeing animals, but actually having the ability to interact with them.
Admission was a mere $ 6 for adults and even less for kids. Those prices are impressive. I expected to find sky-​high prices for drinks and snacks and found those very reasonably priced as well. So not only was it fun, it was inexpensive. If I lived nearby, I’d take my nephews regularly.
Overall. Solid 4 stars.

Great small zoo.

We took our kids to this zoo (three boys aged 8, 5, and 1) and had a fine time. It cost $ 15 for all of us, and I think we got our money’s worth.
This is not a huge zoo, but it does cover more ground than I expected. We saw moose, emu, a zebu, and a bald eagle. There were many peacocks just walking around, which I liked. There were giraffes, too, that you could feed after buying their special biscuits, which looked like fun.
There is a restaurant/​snack bar that has tasty mango slushies, but it also had a large menu. I was glad to avoid getting anything complicated, as the kitchen seemed to seize up pretty quickly once people started asking for actual food.
If you are in Green Bay with some time to kill and kids to entertain — give the NEW Zoo a whirl. It is very nice.

Cute little zoo tucked away in the Wisconsin woods. We had a free afternoon while on vacation in the area, so we decided to stop in for a visit. Admission is only $ 5 for adults (I think $ 3 for children), so the price is certainly right. There was a surprisingly good variety of animals, including bears, monkeys, moose, lions, penguins and giraffes that you can feed for $ 1 a biscuit. There’s a little snack shop inside the park, but we weren’t there long enough to require snacks, so I’m not sure about the quality or prices of the food. Alternatively, there were a number of picnic tables just outside and inside the park, so you could definitely bring your own goodies to enjoy.
This would be a great zoo to visit with kids because it’s not very big, so little legs could easily handle walking around the park. There’s also a small petting zoo section with animal food available for $ 1 a sack. We were there for about 2 hours and were able to stop at almost every exhibit, so it’s definitely doable in just a morning or afternoon.
