Had the best time with a girlfriend here mostly due to the company. Ordered potstickers, spring rolls, and numerous rolls of sushi. Wasn’t a fan of the hot sake though. The ambiance was chill and our hipster waitress provided great service.

I love Koko! The food is consistently well-prepared and delicious– both when dining in and taking out. My favorite is the Godzilla roll but the Bomb is a close second. The sashimi is fresh and the appetizers are yummy. Be sure to make a reservation for dinner on weekends as it gets full quickly. When dining in, allot enough time to be leisurely. The service is good, but the food is not fast.

Easily the best Sushi in Green Bay. Love the atmosphere, reminds of a big city sushi joint. A little on the pricey side but worth the money. Great for a group of friends or a date night!

I went here today for lunch and it was delicious! I got a salad, soup, and sushi for less than $ 10. The inside is also very nice and comfortable. I would recommend KoKo to everyone seeing as they do have food that isn’t sushi or fish, but the sushi is very good!

I’ve been here several times and it’s a nice looking restaurant. The continued theme here is slow service. The last time I was there I was a with a group of 15 on a Saturday night, so I did expect the service to be slow. We did have a reservation, but weren’t seated until an hour after the reservation time. We ordered our food as soon as we got our drinks we and it took over an hour and a half to get our food. What bothered me more was they gave me the wrong sushi roll and I told the waitress what I ordered and she told me I was wrong. I like the sushi here, but I don’t think it’s that much better than some of the other places in Green Bay. I do like their happy hour menu and would do that anytime of the week.

We went last night. Arrived at 630, was told it would be about 30 min for a table of 4. One hour later we weren’t seated so I checked I with the hostess. She said she couldn’t find me so she gave away our table. I was 20 feet from the hostess station. She then seated us immediately and our server came moments later. We ordered drinks and apps. 20 minutes later he came back with items and took our order. No lie…3 hours after arriving we finally got our meals. 1 ½ hours after placing our order. We say people who arrived after us leaving before we were given our meals. I checked in with the hostess to let her know it’s been an excessive wait. She offered nothing other than«the kitchen has been backed up». Once we got our food my Godzilla was almost cold, one of my rolls didn’t come and we had to get our own drinks from the bar. Our server never checked in with us. The food was sub par. The wait was horrendous. No apologies or offers to make our experience better. I won’t be going back.

The artwork and the ambience it creates in this restaurant sets the stage for great sushi. Though there are a couple of odd corners with art for sale which detract from the overall setting. The miso soup is okay, but not as richly flavored as it could be for such a staple. The rolls were solid and filling. They have some creative combinations playing on a Green Bay theme.

Great food, slow service. The last time I went(3 days ago) it seemed that they’d changed their recipes for a couple of things: the tempura vegetables and the spicy Thai shrimp soup – both things I really love, and now they are even better. That said, I went at lunch time, there was two of us and they weren’t very busy, yet out lunch took an hour, and was poorly paced. Everything came at the same time(soup, appetizer and roll). They need to speed things up and get the timing of the meal right.

I’m from Chicago where we have a lot of nice sushi places. I was pleasantly surprised with my lunch experience here. Atmosphere is pleasant and staff were attentive. The fish in my sushi lover’s combo also tasted fresh. My only dings were for price(a little high) and the lack of miso soup with my combo, which is pretty standard with sushi combos at other places I frequent.

My new favorite sushi spot. Been to quite a few in numerous states and the rolls(bomb and Godzilla) although smaller than used to were the best I’ve had anywhere. Atmosphere was very impressive in particular and best that I’ve seen at a sushi place. That fiber optic tree was something else. Only draw back was slow service, not from waiter(David) he was great and can tell a hard worker. Just took awhile to get the food. A lot of to go orders and wait staff running around but just without my food. Highly recommend.

A «fancy» Japanese/Sushi spot. There’s a large multi-section dining room, an elevated bar/lounge area, an outdoor dining space, and there was live music the night we visited. It’s well-decorated and the ambiance leans towards swank. I noticed a number of well-dressed folks and obvious 20-something dates during my visit. Food is okay, but not special for the price(which is closer to big-city pricing, but without the quality to match). Smallish portions of cooked food are attractively presented. I focused on sushi, which was decent but nothing memorable. The fish was good, but not knock-your-socks-off fresh, the specialty rolls were tasty but not vibrant. Essentially, run of the mill Japanese food in a nice setting. There’s street parking, and it’s easy to walk somewhere for a nightcap or coffee after dinner, or to take a stroll along the Fox River. Honestly, in a big city, where lounges and sushi joints are both common, this place would only rate 3-stars, sort of average. For little out-of-the-way Green Bay, it’s 4-stars for providing the city with a stylish, if pricey, venue. Plus, I like the name.

Just came back to Koko after about a year break from this place… curious and hoping for improvements… I feel like it has gotten worse! First of all the service is soooo slow… We had a very nice server, but had empty drinks twice and were waiting for such a long time for refills. The food here is good, but not great… Some of the rolls here are so big that it’s difficult to even eat them(way too much rice!) Although I do have to say the décor is great. I really enjoy sitting and looking around… now they just need to improve the service, and offer betters rolls with less cream cheese, mayo, and less rice! Little Tokyo, a few blocks away, is definitely a better option(better sushi, better pricing, better service).

Just over the bridge in down town Green Bay there is a happening Japanese place called Koko’s It was about 6 pm on a wed and the place was packed. The outside patio, the bar and the restaurant seating There was one minute left to go for happy hour so we ordered fast to take advantage of the happy hour prices A large Sapporo on tap. 3 dollars Large sake. 5 dollars Korean tacos for 6 dollars. These were generally tasty as the meat was cooked medium rare and tender with picked radish. The let down was there was NO Korean bulgogi kick or heat and the taco tortilla was not good Spicy tuna tartare at 6 dollars. This was good but maybe a little to much dressing with the tuna Spicy tuna roll at 5 dollars. These were more like spicy tuna California rolls but decent Although we did not eat dinner here and the happy hour food was just ok, I still give Koko’s 4 stars because it is alive and a good place to come to feel alive. Next time I have the chance I will try the regular menu food

Great food as always. Friendly gluten green menu. Service not good. Monday night– not packed. Two of us. Sat down 10 min until server arrived. 20 more minutes for drinks. 10 more minutes to wait for gluten free menu– asked 3 times. Them food arrived at 1hr 45 min. Yes our server had a big table, but then she shouldn’t have taken the two of us. All the tables around us order after and are and left before we did. Very disappointed! Next time I’ll do take out!

Had Sushi for the first time last night at Kokos. I had the crab cake roll, which was awesome! We also had potstickers for an app, which were good! Atmosphere is great, but as many other Unilocalers report, service was on the slow side. Our waiter was nice and attentive, but it took him awhile between visits to our table. Food came out relatively quickly considering the size of our group. I’ll be back again.

I wish I could give this place more stars but the fact they would not let us make a reservation on a Friday and that we had bad service caused the lower rating. The food here is great, I like that they offer creative sushi options for you to pick from. The roll sizes are a tad small for the amount of money you spend though. When I hinted at bad service it took the server 20 minutes to come to the table with water. I let her know we had a concert to go to and she said that she would do her best to make sure our drinks came quickly. Took another 20 minutes for drinks to come and for us to order our food. I do not mind waiting for food on a busy Friday but to wait for simple things such as drinks is a bit much. I would not recommend.

We were celebrating our 6th «sushi-versary»(or 6th anniversary of having our first sushi date on Oct 1st) at Koko’s last night, per the suggestion of my husband’s boss. I usually think of myself as a sushi snob, or perhaps a food snob in general, and want to first point out this place is getting four stars for these reasons: 1. For Sushi in Wisconsin, it is really quite good.(If it were in Chicago, it would probably get 3 stars?) Way better than any sushi we’ve found in MKE for sure. 2. The atmosphere is awesome and adorable. I could literally watch the fiber optic tree for hours.(Ok, maybe an hour?) 3. The service was thoughtful and prompt, as well as knowledgeable. 4. The rolls themselves attempted creativity, which made it all the more fun. We started with miso soup, which tasted like it came from a package. Don’t waste your time on this as it was pretty pointless. Then we moved on to the appetizer«hand grenades» — 2 huge shrimp«stuffed»(and covered) with rice, topped with a peppery sauce, then baked. These were really quite big and delicious — one of the main highlights of dinner for me. We both smiled and snickered at each other, pleased with our first taste of(albeit cooked) seafood here. My 2nd favorite thing we got was the 2112 roll. I felt like this roll(like every roll we got, but even more so) was WAY too heavy on the rice, and too light on the fish! More fish next time you guys! But the sweet and spicy chili sauce on the roll made it absolutely delicious to eat! Probably, that sauce on anything would be fantastic, but you get my drift! I would definitely order this again. As it’s Wisconsin(I guess?) so many of the rolls were tempura rolls, or had tempura elements, or cream cheese. I asked for them to bring the spicy salmon roll without cream cheese, but it was brought *with* cream cheese. Normally that would have irked me, but I was enjoying everything as it was, and the salmon was tempura’d already — so who cared right? It was a fun little roll with good flavor. They at least added my serranos to this, which made it even better! Lots of flavor going on here The Cheng Bang roll was interesting, but not the most exciting, even tho I liked the name of it ;) The Godzilla roll didn’t disappoint with it’s very-sweet«EJ» sauce and loads of shredded kani-kama. Also, the seaweed part if the roll itself was fried in tempura, which gave it a bit of a crunch — and my husband really loved that for some reason ;) Also of note — the ahi tuna and the salmon sashimi were both fresh and delightful. Good, fresh taste :) The wine list looked fantastic, but we just stuck with green tea. I would definitely return if I had an itch for sushi, but may try sitting at the bar to beg the chef’s to use less rice. Then again, that would mean my back was to the fiber optic tree! ^o^ PS: To the restau: please get some green tea ice cream, preferably fried, you guys! And thanks for serving up a good time and good food!

Miso notso great, seems like the kind you would get out of a package from the grocery store. The staff was very friendly and informative. Based on a recommendation we started off with the hand grenades for an appetizer and they were quite delightful one bite wonder. We definitely get this again. The portions were small but the sashimi was quite fresh and delicious, much better quality than my other Wisconsin sushi based experiences. As for the rolls we got the 2112, Chen Bang, Godzilla, and one other I can’t remember. They were all very good but a bit heavy on the rice(see photos). There house made sweet chili sauce on the 2112 was very unique. If this restaurant was in Chicago or Los Angeles I would give it a three star but given the location I’m giving a four star.

Prices are a little high, but the food was fantastic! They have some unique combinations like the Packer Backer(salmon, mango, avocado, cucumber, sesame seeds, miso ginger sauce, wrapped in yellow soy paper). Overall, very satisfied, and the place made for a great girls’ night out!

Spicy shrimp soup = awesome. Atmosphere = awesome Sashimi quality = awesome Value? Probably not. I thought the place was great, awesome service, great food. But for $ 60 out the door for 16 small pieces of sashimi, a small cup of soup, and two beers is steep! Rice with sashimi was extra and no salad or miso soup included! If they included miso soup and salad I think it would be a better deal.
