This is a place you have to go if you’re ever in Green Bay. I’ve taken my folks there and the garden is just gorgeous. Every year they have a Christmas light exhibit, the Garden of Lights. I volunteer for it and thousands of people go every year. It’s a great event to bring the family or for a date.

I decided to save my 300th review for a special place, and this is it!
Living in Florida, it’s easy to take for granted how plant life changes and flourishes based on the seasons. That said, September is a great time of year to visit the botanical gardens. We came here for a wedding reception. We had about 2 hours to stroll the gardens, and it was a lot of fun! The weather was perfect, and there were no bugs bothering us. There were chipmunks and hummingbirds hanging around too.
There’s a nice kids area, and they display local artwork for sale in the Lois O’Harrow Gallery. The reception hall was perfect for the occasion.
If you like plant life, check this place out!

While the landscaping and everything is beautiful there would be a lot more flowers if not for the infestation of Japanese Beetles. The roses were nonexistent for the most part except for large clumps of beetles and many other flowers were overrun with them as well. It was the same last summer. I went on Wed. evening when it’s free so I wasn’t out anything but I would never pay to go here. Not really sure why a botanical garden wouldn’t be able to eradicate pest infestations.

I was in Green Bay Wisconsin with my daughter for a U13 soccer tournament. In our downtime we decided to go to the botanical gardens. It was a very nice time beautiful landscape nice trails my daughter will tell you the only thing she didn’t like were the bugs. I would highly recommend to anybody visiting the area.

What a pleasant surprise this place is! We enjoyed a nice walk through all the different landscapes, sampled some bell pepper from the salsa garden and recorded ideas for our home landscape. The fee is well worth it, bring a picnic if you want because there are picnic tables by the children’s garden.

We believe the Green Bay Botanical Garden should be a must visit place. The admission fee is reasonable, the gift shop well stocked, and the grounds delightful to walk. Beautiful flowers and trees everywhere. Well laid out paths for walking. Lots of places for sitting and admiring, even picnic areas! The restrooms are in a Hobbit House re-​creation! Visit and see if you agree with us.

I took my parents here during a recent visit. The staff was friendly, the price was affordable and the grounds provided an enjoyable walk. I would say they could use better markings on some of the arrangements especially when there’s a variety of species together. If you enjoy flowers and a peaceful setting its worth the time.

In a city where people often say there isn’t much to do, the Botanical Garden still gets overlooked. It’s a very good size and the thought and care that goes into it is quite impressive. There are a number of events that are scheduled in the Garden throughout the year. There’s yoga in the park during the summer months and camp out events and concerts. Depending on the holiday they will have free admittance, which is surprising given the already low admission prices. Most of the events are family friendly, which I think is really good. They have activities for children and the lights they do for Christmas are really great. It’s been a Christmas tradition of my family for years. Aside from the events, the architecture of the grounds compliments the gardens well. It’s a great spot to have a quick walk through, or if you really want to delve into each type of plant/​flower and spend the day you’re in the right spot too. Children or no children I’d highly recommend visiting.

Beautiful building, grounds and gift shop. I can’t wait to get a membership (my birthday is coming. anyone?), and go to more events. Hopefully I will volunteer in the lovely plant clinic soon, to put my master gardener certification to use. I wanted to go before winter was over, as a new Green Bay resident, so I can see every season.

I go to the garden at least once a week… there is always something new to see, and it’s just a lovely place to hang out. I even take my lunch along, find a good bench, and just enjoy the environment or read a book during my lunch hour. The range of plantings — from traditional to exotic — is amazing. This place is obviously much loved because it takes a LOT of volunteers to keep it looking so beautiful. I quickly realized it made a lot of sense to just buy a membership so I can visit anytime I want AND support the effort.
It’s regrettable that Mark Z gave it a 1 star review based not upon the quality of the venue, but upon his misinterpretation of their photography policy. If one is selling photos, one is by definition a professional, not a hobbyist. I’d encourage you to look beyond his complaint and see the good things he has to say about GBBG… I agree that it’s one of the top places to shoot photographs in the area. But if you are selling your pictures, you should check their policy first.

We’ve been to other Botanical Gardens in other cities, but this is by far one of the best.
Clean, well maintained.
wonderful variety of colors & blooms, and the sitting areas witht the statures.
Check out the gift shop, too for some wonderful instrumental CD’s for sale. we bought 2 of them…
