Love eating at hinata cuz of their good food, causal atmosphere and a great company by Adrienne. He’s a great host n make you want to bring your friends. They have changed the name of the restaurant but the same great people and good food. I would definitely recommend hinata for your future gathering!

This place is my new go to weekly Japanese Restaurant. They have an all you can eat menu, which is much much much better then the other all you can eat japanese place available in Great Neck. They have a large array of food, which is all delicious. The service is also great very friendly and accommodating. Definitely give them a try.

This is the best sushi in Great Neck, which isn’t saying MUCH, but i’ll take what I can get. I usually get takeout, but the restaurant is pleasant and the waiststaff is nice.

Fresh, flavorful & distinct sushi rolls … do not make up for rude service. Currently in the process of finding a new sushi spot. I wish Zutto never went out!

This is my favorite sushi spot in Great Neck period! the place is nice and cozy the food is amazing and Adrian the owner makes you feel at home! My favorite dish is the Amazing Tuna Roll! the name says it all. If your ever in Great Neck and are looking for a nice sushi place you should check out Hinata you won’t be disappointed!

This is a good place. I havent been here in a while but I hear from my friend’s it is still good. The place from what I rememebr had this little bar up in front it was like a room before you enter the seating area for the actual restaurant. It was nice, if we had to wait they had a full bar and everything. Drinks we alright nothing to brag about(except for one thing, i’ll get back to that later) The atmosphere is nice and they have those cool watami area(i think thats what it called when you take off your shoes and walk on to an elevated straw mat and eat) Anyway I always liked that gimmick, i don’t know if gimmick is the right word but whatever. The service was nice. The owner at the time was this guy named Tony I think. This dude was awesome. He use to come drink with my friends and I and talk and it was cool. He was a real fun guy or maybe it was all the sake bombs, i guess anyone could seem like a «good guy» in that situation.
The food was alright not bad. Nothing amazing but I was satisfied. Also most other japanese spots in GN either suck bad or unfairly priced. So place nothing special the service and the food is fine. The place is pleasant to be in. BUT!!! The main main main reason we come to Hinata, is not for the service, not for the food, not for Tony(sorry) but it’s for the THEGODDAMNSCORPIANBOWLS!!! HELLEFFINYEAH!!! if you do not know what a scorpian bowl is, please let me explain… 2oz GIN 1oz RUM 2oz 151 2oz of more rum some juice other juice fruit random shit(we always begged the bartender to throw in something extra it was usually whiskey or something) all inside i big ass ceramic bowl in a shape of ISLAND with the center having a volcano where the 151 is lit on FIRE!!! Drinking this bowl of awesomeness and shotting the 151 throw a straw is simply marvelous. This is definitely one of the best ways to start a fun night(not in GN, just jump on the LIRR which is a 5min walk and head to Queens or Manhattan)

When some sort of location-based, time travel phenomenon landed me in Great Neck, I needed to eat. My first thought when I pondered dining in Great Neck was obviously sushi*. Enter Hinata and enter the world of averageness. There was nothing bad about Hinata at all. There was also nothing outstanding about Hinata at all. The menu was fine, a classic Americanized combination of muscle rolls**, appetizers and sushi. Feeling overwhelmed by the menu and underwhelmed by the feng shui of the restaurant, I just copped out and got some sort of sushi dinner which surprisingly did not come with soup or salad, a mainstay of every sushi dinner I have had for the past 20 years. The sushi was fine. Tiny pieces of rice underneath the sushi made the actual pieces of sushi look bigger, but this was not a car mirror and the actual size of the sushi was noticeably small. The construction of the rolls and sushi was fine and the food arrived in less than five minutes. I am so sick of fine, but this is just what is was, nothing more, nothing less. While I do think this is a decent place to dine if you are in Great Neck, there was something that just did not work for me in terms of the setup of the restaurant. The dining area is arranged in a way that would make a zen scientist go outside and put a rake in the sand for its calming effect. Tables too close, too many tables, too fine. __________________ * OK, it wasn’t, but that’s what I wanted anyway. ** These are the rolls that have a minimum of five ingredients and have sometimes good names(Red Dragon Roll) and sometimes very, very bad names(Yummy Roll).
