Came here for lunch today, the food was okay but definitely overpriced. Don’t order the hand made guacamole. The guacamole was too chunky broke the tortilla chips, and had too much lime. The real problem here was the waiter. Although it was an accident, he spilled beans all over my mother. It got on her shirt, jacket, purse and even the wall. In a situation like this typically the meal or portion of would be comped, that didn’t happen. Instead we waited awkwardly for 20 mins for our check. I could not give this waiter a tip. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Love the lobster burrito! The wait staff is incredibly nice. The homemade hot sauce is a must!

Great family restaurant with well priced menu. The portions were huge and the food was perfectly prepared. We enjoyed various enchiladas, each under $ 13 a plate at lunch. Service was fast and pleasant. Happy to have Triny’s in the village.

Very nice interior with ample seating for multiple guests. Parking may be a little tricky to find since they share parking with the shopping center. Staff is very nice and eager to help. We ordered take out before with ease and had a quick in-and-out as far as wait time. For dine-in experiences, speed of food service is hit or miss, sometimes you get your food right away and sometimes it takes a little while but they are always quick to bring chips and salsa so you have something to munch on while you wait. Food was excellent every time so far. They have everything from vegetarian to fish to entrees for meat lovers. The steak was very tender and juicy. Chips are crisp and the rice was modest but good. They have a variety of desserts. We tried the Tres Leches and Fried Ice Cream, both of which were a hit. I read a lot of the not-so-nice reviews but it seems that whatever was wrong before isn’t here now. It was a good experience for us and we will be back again.

Trinys is better each time we go. The food is consistent and service is always friendly and accommodating. After my kids got their quesadillas they realized there were beans in them… the waiter took note that the kids weren’t eating and promptly brought them both new plates sans beans. The green sauce served with the chips is sooo good.

Carne esada was flavorful! Great food! I also enjoyed the tortilla chip and salsa. I also enjoyed the steak fajitas last time I visited.

Went back this evening with family for dinner. Was very pleased to see they had added the prices on the wine list and drink menu. I guess they do listen to comments! However tonight the service was pretty sketchy. They got sacked after the nearby Village Green celebration was over.
Had to wait for dinner, which arrived in fits and starts, several entrees were wrong. We apparently had a new waiter. However, they did their best to correct the problems. The manager personally handled the wrong entrees quickly, and apologized profusely at the end. He even comped the drinks and cut the bill 50%. They are trying hard… we will be back.

Food was good, service was great but $ 15.95 for a Margarita was way out of line. Kind of ruined the rest of the experience. Sad to say but with prices like that on their drinks the won’t be in business to long !!

This really should be more like a 1.5 star review. I had a combination plate with a shredded beef enchilada and a chicken tamal. The beef filling in the enchilada was decent, but there was hardly any sauce – what little there was was pooled off to one side of the enchilada. There was none on the enchilada itself; it was more like a taco, because it definitely had not been cooked in the sauce at all. The tamal was downright horrible. There was very little chicken in it, and the masa was a watery, flavorless disaster. By far the worst tamal I’ve ever had; it was not edible. My husband’s chorizo burrito wasn’t bad, but the chorizo was so pink that it resembled kielbasa. It even tasted like it, until the mild heat kicked in at the end. The best part was that in addition to salsa, we got a little cup of what I think was a creamy avocado dip for the chips. Hence two stars. But there are far better tex-mex places in this area, so there’s no reason to go back here.

Service and food have improved with every visit. Prices are a little high, but it’s acceptable. Good for families with young children.

Your review helps others learn about great local businesses. I love this new restaurant in Great Falls… I live over in Reston and drive over here to order their half chicken and chicken soup to go. I like the fact I can order items a la carte with no attitude. The service is great and the dinner arrives promptly. There is room for improvement but I really love this place and can’t figure out why it could be considered expensive or have poor service. New Update to my review: I ordered my fav dish the other day and they let me down… it was the half chicken but it was more like a quarter chicken this time. I took a star from them… they are still good but the next time I will insist that they give me the ½ chicken I ordered. The décor is not that great… but…Great Falls is desperate for restaurants and this Mexican restaurant will offer the community diversity in dining. The locals need to embrace Triny’s and the fact the Tavern will never be back at the location… Without Triny’s, there will be less and less dining choices in Great Falls… I wish them success… but…they should maintain a high level of quality, great service, and competitive prices or they will lose my support.

Not what I was hoping for. I can make a prediction and I bet that this restaurant will not make it. 1. A terrible smell when you walk in. Is it fresh paint maybe? 2 parties left immediately after walking in. 2. The décor is bla. They took the old furniture and slapped a new coat of paint. The smell is killing me while I’m writing this. 3. Overpriced. 4. Pepsi. –1 for me for this. 5. Staff was very friendly. I feel sorry for them. 6. Will not come here again… and that smell!!! 7. Order was messed up a couple of times, but they fixed it quickly. 9. Go to On the Border. 150 times better.

They only get one star because I can’t leave a review without a star. Service is useless and food is sub par with high end pricing. Anita’s or a food truck would be a more suitable food choice to this place. Very bad service and food. I say it goes out of business within 6 months.

This place was great. I came with my family Saturday evening and expected some horrible service, but still showed up because of my love of Mexican food. I was pleasantly surprised with my experience. While service was a little relaxed, the food totally made up for it. The food is worth the wait and didn’t make me regret coming there at all! The service wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t outstanding. If the service was a little faster I would be delivering a 5⁄5 stars. The food is worth the wait though!

This place blows, 3 people spent 181 bucks. We had 2 margaritas and the steak and chicken fajitas. First of all they don’t list the price of the margaritas which come to find out are 14 dollars a piece. They jack up the prices because it’s great falls. The food tastes like a stale chickens brown eye. Just to put it in perspective I created this Unilocal account just because this place is so horrendous. F*** this place

Only reason I give it 1 star is because of the ludicrous margarita prices. The cheapest margarita is $ 14. A steak and chicken combo fajita($ 18) and 2 margaritas shouldn’t come out to $ 50 at a Mexican restaurant. If the drinks were reasonably priced, I’d give it 3 stars, and would maybe come back. I understand it’s great falls, but get real. OVERIT.

We, too, tried them recently. It wasn’t the best first experience. For a family of six, they seated us with just two menus, ignoring the four kids. That was terribly unprofessional. When the server tried to take our order, I pointed out we were not ready because the kids didn’t even get menus. He shrugged without an apology and delivered menus. But beyond that, no concern. Next, I noticed the tenth generation bad photo copies of coloring sheets for the kids to color. Yes, it sounds nit-picky. But that was my first impression of their attention to detail and lack of pride in their presentation. Note to struggling restaurant owners: Families go where kids enjoy the food and are entertained. I’ll give them credit for this… They were literally putting chips and salsa on our table before we were in our seats. But that was the last and only service experience worth note. At 3:30 in the afternoon, with but five tables seated, the service was incredible slow. Painfully slow. Even though their front of house was dramatically overstaffed. They had the bodies. This was a kitchen problem. When food finally arrived, the kids’ chicken«tenders» were the worst, Costco-style processed nuggets ever. McDonald’s is gourmet compared to their chicken«tenders.» Half our orders were wrong, too. One of the kids was served the wrong meat in his taco. My wife was served the wrong meat in her meal. Another had the wrong sides. Again, the waiter fixed it(more waiting). But no apology. No manger stopping by to apologize, either. Who do you blame? The very eccentric/eclectic waiter we had? Or the kitchen? We’ll never know who was at fault. Once we got past all those mistakes, the service dried up. Our waiter had to be tracked down for the check — and we were never offered dessert. Now for food quality… I don’t really care for Mexican, but my wife loves it. I found it average. But I’m not qualified to judge Mexican food. I wouldn’t know the difference. However, when my wife winces, shrugs her shoulders, and says«ehhh. It was ALRIGHT,» that’s how I know it’s not great food. She is passionate about Mexican food. Now for prices… HIGH! But I know the old owners of the Tavern and I know how ridiculous the rent is at that shopping center. I understand why their prices must be so high. But I think they may be dooming themselves with their prices. Come on … $ 9 for a bowl of soup late in the afternoon on a weekday? I’m hearing outrageous prices for the liquor, too? Lastly … And nobody has to agree with my opinion. But I’m not a fan of the colors they painted in the walls. They aren’t warm or inviting. The lack of a single picture on the wall also stands out like a sore thumb. The décor is depressing. It doesn’t exist. Overall, my initial impression is this is a below-average restaurant for food, service, décor, and pricing. Like others, I’m hopeful for them. I WANT them to succeed. Especially because my darling wife loves Mexican food so much. I want them to be a regular spot for my family. I want them to get better. My fingers truly are crossed! I’m rooting for them. But they need to listen to all the customer feedback and adjust to what the customers are saying. And I hope they do it FAST, while people are still willing to try it again. I’m rooting for them. And since we live so close by, we’ll no-doubt be back. But without badly needed improvements, they won’t get nearly the number of visits or revenue from this family as the Tavern did. For now, they’re pretty much at the bottom of my list of choices when considering where to eat in Great Falls. That makes me sad. Good luck, Triny’s. I want you to win! I’m a huge supporter of local businesses and entrepreneurial families. You can do it. Just listen to your customers and adapt.

I realize the restaurant is still in its infancy, but the food was definitely NOT worth the money. I could get better quality food that is less expensive at any other Tex-Mex restaurant — Anita’s, Uncle Julio’s, On the Border… take your pick. Also, $ 15 margaritas? Go get two swirls at Uncle Julios! The food was only okay, but like I said — much too expensive. Unlike some of the other reviews, the service was great. Our waitress was attentive and had a great personality. But service isn’t why I’d return to a restaurant. Our good service is really the only reason I gave a two-star review.

I’m going to be as fair as possible with this review. Why? This place just opened, and I think it’s unreasonable to expect perfect service from a place that’s less than a week old. Maybe I’m wrong, but that’s neither here nor there. I plan on coming here at least two more times and will update accordingly. The service is why this place is going to get rocked on here, but again, keep in mind that the place opened last Wednesday. It took an hour and a half for us to receive our food. That was bad. We were not the only table with the delay. I almost felt guilty eating once we received our food since other tables had no choice but to watch us eat. That said, the food was really tasty. I ordered what I believe was called«Camarones Chipotle,» which was shrimp, yellow onions, and green onions sauteed in a mildly spicy chipotle sauce. The dish came with white rice and black beans. I found it interesting that they provided white rice and not«Mexican» style rice, but it’s not like I was deceived or anything – they said white rice on the menu. I felt that $ 19.95 was a little overpriced for what I got, though. The guacamole we ordered was made table-side by a nice young man who didn’t mind having a friendly conversation with us. That’s good. Great Falls is a very friendly place like that. It’s important to have lively servers, so thumbs up to that guy. Also, the restaurant does not yet serve beer, but it will within the next week, I believe. It does serve margaritas. Two stars for now, hopefully more to come. Triny’s has big boots to fill since the restaurant it replaced, The Tavern, was so favorably regarded by Great Falls residents. That said, it meets a need that Great Falls has: more Mexican-style cuisine. While the place is very rough around the edges right now, I think it can make it with time.

Chaos. Total Chaos. The sign out front says«In Training». Indeed. Here are a few tips for opening a new restaurant: 1) Don’t open until you’re ready. Or at least mostly ready. Triny’s Great Falls is not ready. 2) Hire professional servers. Lots of them, not a couple. I’m absolutely sure that the woman who served us tonight had never waited a table in her life. She made the most basic mistakes. And, unhindered by any personality or enthusiasm whatsoever, she made our evening even more unpleasant than was needed as we waited for over an hour to get our food. 3) About the wait. The people sitting across from us had a different server. They came in, got drinks, got their food, paid and left before we got our meals. But we were fortunate – the people next to us(same server – coincidence?) waited an hour and twenty minutes for their food(and spontaneously starting cheering when it finally arrived). 4) The food – nothing special. The burritos were good, but my steak, ordered medium, was charred within an inch of its life. We weren’t comped for anything, despite the wait(might have settled for an apology from our personality-free waitress, but that wasn’t happening). I can understand some problems to be worked out at a new place, but for goodness sake hire some friendly people and comp your guests a bit if you make them wait excessively.
