History

Established in 1984.

Back in the mid-​1970s, Kerry Guthrie already had the bug. He was fascinated by both computer hardware and software technology, and would go to great lengths to learn as much as he could.

«I had a couple of friends who worked nights for First National Bank in the data processing center,» Guthrie recalled. «First National did its own data processing at the time. I would go there many nights after work because I was interested in learning the business of data processing using computer technology.»

The bug was nourished by his early education and now Guthrie is president and chief executive officer of Central Plains Computer Service, Inc. 608 Patton Road Great Bend Kansas 67 530. It has been Guthrie’s life and livelihood since it opened in 1984.

Central Plains Computer Service is a provider of computer sales and service. The company is also a local high speed internet service provider, offering web hosting as well as web and graphic design.
