Dog Boarding

Our indoor-​outdoor runs are 4 ft. x 4 ft. x 4 ft. on the inside and open up to

12 ft. x 4 ft. x 8 ft. outdoor runs. Our runs are heated on the inside and have solid walls on each side of the run, to allow the dogs a more private and comfortable sleeping area. The outdoor runs have fencing as walls to allow the dogs to play with their neighbors through the fence, while still keeping them separated.

We also have 4 extra large indoor-​outdoor runs which measure at 4 ft. x 6 ft. x 4 ft. on the inside and 12 ft. x 6 ft. x 8 ft. on the outside.

Cat Boarding

The Cat Rooms are located in a separate area from the dog boarding accomodations, to provide a more peaceful and relaxing atmosphere for our feline clients. All of the Cat Rooms are all floor-​to-​ceiling rooms with perches for the cats to jump to and from and relax on during their stay. We offer varying sizes of Cat Rooms from «Small» for a more intimate stay to «Extra Large» (some with windows) for a more spacious and luxurious stay.

We offer a wide variety of training options to meet your and your dog’s needs. All of our training options use the same methods, so you are able to mix and match options as needed.

Dog Grooming

We offer a wide range of services and are happy to groom any breed of dog.

TOPS — Family Owned Since 1978!

TOPS in Dog Training is owned and operated by Alex and Paula Rothacker. Their passion for dog training and desire to care for animals, lead them to open TOPS in 1978. They moved to their current location in Grayslake, IL during 1990 and have been happily serving the area ever since. Over the years, Alex and Paula have worked hard to build a very talented and caring staff of employees, who make up the TOPS team.
