I have lived here since 2012 and am very happy, especially since the new ownership/management took over earlier this year. As a senior I am prudent about safety and security. I have never felt intimidated or concerned by other tenants. In fact, my neighbors are some of the nicest and helpful people I’ve ever encountered. I’m perfectly comfortable walking my dog after dark, sometimes as late as 11:00 — 12:00pm. There are a small percentage of other dog owners who don’t seem to think they should have to clean up after their dog, but the majority are considerate of their neighbors and do pick up. My unit is directly across the pond from the basketball courts and the latest I’ve ever heard kids playing is about 9:00 pm. The new owners are being very ambitious about cleaning and updating the buildings. In comparison to other apartments within a five to ten mile area, the rent is reasonable. Previously I rented direct from the prior owner and getting anything done was a challenge. My experience with the new owners so far has been very positive. The on-site staff are friendly and responsive to any request I’ve had.

I have lived here for going on 6 years. I have slowly watched it go down hill as the good people left and the undesirable people were allowed to come in. When I moved in there was a ton of hoops to jump through and at the end, just before the owners sold Grays Pointe, they were allowing everyone in so there have been issues with drug dealers and property damage. Now that the new owners have come in they are jacking up the prices but taking away our upgrade options. With the last owners they would upgrade one item of choice with the signing of the lease. These new owners won’t upgrade anything but will raise the price nearly $ 100 a month. A huge jump in price for nothing. Other issues: dog feces left on the sidewalks and every grassy area, huge pot holes all over the entrance way that are a danger to your tires, incompetent maintenance that won’t fix what you need fixed until you pitch a fit about it(they claim they have been in your apartment but nothing has been fixed) and snow removal that doesn’t actually remove the snow or salt the ice. Avoid at all costs, it’s not worth it.

I lived here for 4 years and loved it. It’s a great area with tons of amenities. Great place for nature lovers and dog owners. There’s a pond with a path around it and a wetlands area that is always flooded with newborn wildlife in the spring. Lots of birdwatching and sometimes the occasional duck, goose or turtle makes it’s way to your porch! There’s a pool in the summertime and lots of pkay room for kids. I was here during my time as a student at CLC and the location is a quick drive or walk to campus located right around the corner. If I hadn’t gotten a job in the city I would have never left! ***The only reason that I’m not giving 5 stars is because I do wish that the screening process for potential tenants was better. I was robbed in the summer of 2012 by some of the section 8 tenants teenagers who felt like they could turn the basketball court and park area into their own personal ghetto. I had to then see the guys who robbed me all the time and no longer felt safe in my own apartment complex. I hope that they have been better with enforcing rules and not allowing the nasty section 8 ghetto tenants to ruin things for everyone.
