Specialties
Congri Cuban Restaurant, a taste of Cuba in the Northwest suburbs, is a family owned restaurant that offers a wide variety of traditional dishes. Our specialties are Cuban sandwiches, such as the Cubano and Pan con Bistec; delicious guava, guava and cheese, and ham and cheese pastelitos; and of course the most traditional Cuban dish, the congri!
History
Established in 2013.
Business partners Isabelita Delgado and Chiqui Ortigosa combined forces in early 2013 to create a Cuban restaurant that will offer homemade dishes in a family oriented environment. The second week of November of the same year, Congri Cuban Restaurant opened up its doors in Grayslake, Illinois.
Congri counts with a comfortable and colorful dining room, an open kitchen, and the direct management of its owners. Isabelita, the mastermind in the kitchen, brings recipes that resemble those of her mother and grandmother’s back in Guantanamo; while Chiqui, a natural entrepreneur, coordinates the friendly front of the house.
