The food is absolutely delicious! The prices through me off a bit but it was definitely worth the money for how much food we got! Bread sticks are warm and amazing! It’s a cute little family owned restaurant :)

Great food at reasonable prices. Not sure what other reviewers are thinking. Definitely the best Italian in town.

we were back last night for our usual family greek salad. you would think it serves 4 or at least 3 people, it’s over $ 20. lots of greens, 2 half slices tomato, 2 half slices zucchini, 2 half slices cucumber, a few small green olives, 3 pepperoncini, a few slices of mushrooms, and miniscule pieces of broccoli. that was it folks. if i would have put all the ingredients in one place, the palm of my hand could have fit much more. so disappointing. it was our last visit. a gentleman sitting next to us had a side salad with his pasta dish that may have had more extra veggies than our greek salad.

I used to think this was a decent place for authentic Italian cuisine, even with the sullen wait staff. Then one evening I stopped in for dinner and, upon leaving, asked how to say«good evening» in Italian. The owner said«I don’t know– I’m Persian»! Talk about disillusioned and misinformed. This has nothing to do with any particular nationality, but rather my expectation that a restaurant should at least employ a chef who is of the same ethnicity as the cuisine being featured. I’ll never go back!

what a disappointment, there raviolis are obviously frozen you could taste the freezer burnt product the Alfredo sauce was clumpy and tasteless, you could taste the uncooked flour in there sauce if i could give them a negative 5 there is nothing Italian about this place

It makes me sad to read the reviews for Tuscany Gardens. I guess some people are always looking for a reason to complain(especially classy is the guy who was complaining about the owner being a Muslim). We have been frequenting Tuscany Gardens for a few years and have always had a great experience. The food is awesome and we have become friends with the manager who is trying really hard to provide a great experience. If you are a complaining racist, you may not want to go to Tuscany Gardens. If you are a local looking for some first rate Italian food and to support a local business, then go to Tuscany Gardens. PS I happen to like the jungle restroom!

Wretched! Awful! So far below bad as to be the new standard for lousy. Bad service, bad food and no redemption. Avoid like the plague! Ordered a Greek salad that was so old and drenched in oil as to be inedible. Service was indifferent, bordering on hostile. No refill for water or beverages. Didn’t care why I returned the salad. If they put half as much time into food or service as they did the hideous«jungle» bathroom, they might have something to eat that isn’t wretched. Other diners with me had red pasta lumps that tasted as unappetizing as they looked. Yuck! Avoid!

I really wanted to like this place. Haven’t been able to find anything comparable to other restaurants in the bay area. The only thing we really liked were the breadsticks. The lasagna was a very small portion it was $ 20 and it was unremarkable. The shrimp scampi was also disappointing. I’ve spent the same amount of money and have experienced exceptional Italian cuisine. The staff was unfriendly. The waitress wouldn’t smile at us or make eye contact. She also appeared to have just rolled out of bed. The older gentleman, who may have been the owner also was a little rude. I asked him to recommend either the shrimp scampi or the veal piccata and he seemed annoyed at the question. His recommendation was an agitated eye roll by saying the two are completely different dishes. Oh, really? I can tell the difference between cow and shrimp, thank you! I also can tell the difference between a good restaurant and a less than mediocre one. My husband and I ordered off the dinner menu, a garlic bread appetizer and the kids had butter noodles. We each had a soda. Total was $ 105.

Pasta Primavera Alfredo was tasty w/grilled chicken. However the owner had no idea what I was talking about with my beer selection and told me he only had soda. The real kick down to the two stars was the easily identifiable store bought tiramisu. I was disappointed after it had been portrayed much more appealing.

This place was tasty. We had a BBQ chicken calzone, sundried tomato chicken sandwich, and a kids pizza. We shared tastes of everything and it was all good, but the pizza was great. It was cozy and quiet inside during lunch time. It was a little expensive but worth the price.

This may be the best of the remaining Italian restaurants in the area. I had the«classic lasagna» there, and it was perfectly satisfactory, as was the green salad. They serve a tasty«breadstick» that is fresh, more like a tiny loaf of bread.(Someone should come up with a better description.) The house chianti was also fine. The service is reasonably attentive and prompt. The apparent owner/manager was present on a Saturday night, and made sure that things went well.

Wow, can’t believe the meager reviews! We have been eating at Tuscany Gardens since it was two restaurants ago in PV, can’t even remember their names but for sure they have kept the delicious pizza recipes! They have the most gigantic family style pizza for the very best price anywhere. The crust and sauce on the pizza are the best, tons of toppings, just plain GREAT! My cousin who has had a cabin in the area for 30+ years had never eaten there. I took her there about a year ago and now she eats there, and takes others there any chance she gets. their breadsticks are the best, good salads and good pastas. Also a good selection of food. I must say, their portions on their calzones shrunk from years ago, but I don’t order those any more… stick with the pizza and you can’t go wrong! One addtional note, I have had very good service there, mostly by the family, but occasionally their service has been less than desirable because of the«young and inexperienced» help they have hired.

I’ve been here with my husband before and I really enjoyed our dinner. My husband’s cheese ravioli entrée seemed very much on the small side for a dinner portion — and my fettuccine alfredo was a huge portion so he ended up eating half of my dinner! Otherwise, I don’t really have any real complaints about this place — it was very nice! The salad was so delicious! I loved the oil and vinegar salad dressing option. The breadsticks are very good, too — not super groundbreaking, but good… and huge! My chicken alfredo was very good… I can make better at home in my opinion because I can do it just the way I like it… but for not having to cook, this was not a disappointment in the slightest compared to a lot of other alfredos I’ve had at other restaurants around here. The ambiance and décor is very nice and intimate. It would be a nice place for a date. :) I will definitely go back here again… it did not disappoint. The dessert was delicious! I tried an espresso or coffee cheesecake and i was absolutely TODIEFOR! The owner, I think, seemed very concerned about whether or not we received refills and about whether or not we enjoyed our meals, which I thought was very good — for that reason alone I would go back. Service and customer service are big in my book. It’s a friendly, nice place. It’s not overpriced, it’s intimate, small, delicious, and a great place to go for dinner. I was not disappointed in the slightest.

awful place to eat at! at first I thought the place was cute with its tiny restaurant and cheap decorations, but the service and food is terrible. I’ve gotten sick each time I’ve eaten there. The managers’(9 yr old?) daughter is ALWAYS touching the breadsticks and salad served to customers before washing her hands after playing on the floor and cleaning up dirty dishes from the tables. The manager himself is so greedy and lazy as well. Everytime I’ve gone to eat there with my family, I hear staff complain how he’s out back sleeping in his car while his daughter and the waitress’ handle everything. My friend was trained there for a potential job and he never paid her for it or anything for the four days she was with them. On top of that she had just gone through a family death the prior day she was scheduled to come in and work and she was a wreck, she called to let him know she couldn’t come in and was terribly sorry. and he YELLED at her and told her she’s FIRED! All because she was grieving over a death that happened less than 24 hours. What a jerk! And he had the nerve to call her the next day asking her to come in and work due to short staff after telling her she’s terminated and without pay! He is one of the rudest men I’ve met only cares about his customers’ money. On another note, the staff there is very rude. The prices are higher than what you’re actually getting. I wouldn’t waste my time unless you want bad service and food touched by a childs dirty hands. Guaranteed to go home feeling sick afterwards.

I’m definitely a fan of Italian food and have eaten some of the best(in Boston and, er, Italy). If you’re looking for the real deal, you’re not going to find it in Grass Valley, so let that notion go. My goal is tasty food, not truly authentic Italian fare. That said, I was perfectly happy with the meal I got here. As a vegetarian, I liked the mix-and-match pasta and sauce menu, which included some creative ravioli fillings and sauce. I got a smoked cheese and sun dried tomato ravioli with a Mediterranean-style sauce. The portions weren’t gargantuan, but after eating the bread and salad, I had enough pasta left on my plate for a doggy bag. As Kyle S. pointed out, I’m sure the meat entrees are smaller because of cost, but shouldn’t we all be eating less meat?(Veal Picatta is traditionally served in thin slices, but I agree that a 4″ diameter is a little stingy). The servers appeared to be a young husband and(pregnant) wife couple, possibly the owners, which I found charming. She was very pleasant and attentive without being overly solicitous. There is an art to serving a solo diner, and she seemed to have it down. There was a good turnout on Saturday evening when I went, and I enjoyed the people-watching: lots of locals of different ages including some kids. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meals. The décor is cute, but turn down that fountain! The fire hose-like blast of water made me have to pee! This is a good location next to the movie theater. I’m thinking of going to see a movie there tonight, and if I do, I’ll probably go back and try the pizza. OK I went back last night and this place has definitely gone down hill. The salad was pretty crappy, and they got rid of the smoked cheese and sundried tomato ravioli. Sill nice service and fun people watching.

Well I must agree with the last person that wrote a review for this place. Its just o.k. Better then Cirinos price and food wise. But there just isn’t the flavor there. Some of the items taste like they are canned and over salted. I have tried this place a few times. It never lives up to its potential. I’ve lived on the east coast and have had good Italian food. I just can’t find it in California.

This is my second visit to this particular restaurant as I’m desperate to find a decent Italian restaurant in Grass Valley(sorry folks but Cirinos sucks). We went in on a Wednesday and we were two of about 6 people there in the evening– not a good sign. They have done a nice job of remodeling the place from when it was Chanos — it looks more like a dinner house rather than a café. The good: my salad was excellent. The bad: our server was a young gal who acted more like the café that the place was rather than the dinner house they were trying to be and I half expected her to be chewing gum and yelling our order back to the kitchen. The good: we both ordered the veal piccata with chef’s choice pasta as a side dish(comes with it automatically). The veal was excellent and the pasta was good. The Bad: I had to dig around on my plate to find the veal — it was about 1⁄8 inch thick(if that) and about 4″ round so it took about 4 bites and I was done. The pasta, on the other had, was what I had to dig through to find my veal, was alright but became the main focus of my meal. The potential is there but why do I have a bad feeling that another restaurant may not survive?
