We were not at all happy with this campground. If you can’t get a full hookup campsite, they charge you $ 10 to use their dump station. That’s OK for outsiders who just want to use the station, but registered campers shouldn’t have to pay just because the facility ran out of full hookup sites. Do you want a camp table? That’s another $ 10 fee. We always leash our dogs, as per the rules. But it was impossible to walk them through the camping area because of all of the unleashed dogs running about. No one from the campground staff cared to enforce that rule. Don’t think of staying here during a fairground event. We were there during 4th of July events. Two nights in a row, thousands of people. Parking their cars in and around our campsite. Walking through our campsite. Total chaos. I guess when you are the only game in town…

We enjoyed staying here, though there isn’t much to this campground. However, it’s a beautiful area and right next to the fairgrounds, which we were able to walk through even though there wasn’t anything going on at the time. They were preparing for the fair near the end of our stay, and it then got pretty crowded with some interesting fair vendor types! It was peaceful and comfortable and a good location if you are interested in visiting downtown Grass Valley. Staff was friendly. We’d stay here again.
