Great shredded beef tacos and very fair price. The thing that makes it a good value is they give you chips and a homemade salsa that is really tasty. The Taquito’s are really good and are served (3) with sour cream and another type of salsa. Cute out of way location, and really friendly service.

Didn’t even think of checking reviews first… this place is just in my neighborhood.
I’m glad I didn’t because it was great!
Very friendly, cooks wore gloves, food was good and I paid $ 8 for two steak tacos and a side of very good black beans.
Free chips and good homemade salsa!
I love the way they made it easy by putting it in a box, considering I had to eat in my car that day.
Great option in this town where there aren’t many!

I don’t know what’s happened to Paco’s, but their tacos shouldn’t be such a chore. I’ve been there maybe about 10 times over a couple years. First, because of the bag-​ban in Nevada County, or whatever other reason they chose, my box of tacos wasn’t wrapped/​bagged up which led to my food cooling off way too soon. I could have used a paper bag but they didn’t even do that. This affected the double-​stacked corn tortillas, which I’m assuming I need to take apart and separate the ingredients myself in order to have two tacos. If that’s the case, I suggest they try to do the same thing by waiting 10+ or so minutes to get home, then separate two slightly soggy and matted corn tortillas without ripping everything to shreds and spilling everything all over the place. Also driving somewhere with an open top box of food in a car? Apparently they didn’t think that decision through. The food quality was so-​so to not so good compared to almost anywhere else in the GV area for the same thing. And the portions weren’t anything to feel good about anymore. Finally price-​wise… well. like the bottle ring toss carny says; you pays your money you takes your chances. They were good, it’s the only reason I went there.

When I first tried Paco’s, I wasn’t impressed because the meat wasn’t spiced at all, and I love spice. However, everything they have on the taco is fresh with lots of lettuce and side options. Then I tried the chicken tacos with big steamed corn tortillas (double layered), threw on a bunch of cilantro and onion with their homemade sauce (super spicy and flavorful). Now I go there at least once a week. Great for the gringo pallet, but can be spiced up for the people who like spicy flavor.

I paid with credit card and wrote a line through the tip area and wrote out the $ 10.00 total. When I got home and looked at the printed receipt, the cashier had given herself a $ 1 tip. I have disputed it with my credit card company already. I went back, but no manager around, and the lunch cashier had left. Unsure if I should call the grass valley police.

I absolutely love this place! The food is decently priced and of great quality. I had always gotten the beef tacos which are amazing, but recently I decided to indulge in a beef burrito and it was delicious! A burrito that puts Chipotle to shame. So yes I highly recommend you stop by and grab some tacos and enjoy their chips and fresh salsa as well.

Just went there with my boyfriend and we got two burritos and a side of rice (no drinks) and paid 23.08 I came home and my burrito was AWFUL!!! I didn’t even eat 1⁄3 of it and I am so dissatisfied with my food! I just got mouthfuls of tomato, and I don’t like tomatoes! It grossed me out so much! I tried to open it up and pick them out but it was literally 50% tomato. Not pico de gallo, just tomato. I am so upset right now and will never, ever go back and waste my money!!! My boyfriends burrito leaked all over the place but at least he liked it enough to finish it.

The food always tastes like it is good quality. They are a little slower than most fast food restaurants but it is worth the wait. They are pricier than Taco Bell but cheaper than Maria’s. Lots of selection on the menu to make everyone happy. Beautiful outdoor seating and comfortable interior along with friendly staff. We will eat here often.

Flavorless, overpriced food. I really was hoping this little place would be a nice bite to eat because I live right down the road from them. Went there the other day finally. I got a chicken taco an my friend got a mahi mahi taco. Both absolutely flavorless and plain. Also got a quesadilla that was very plain. Came with a little to go bag of chips and salsa and the chips were very oily. I looked on the menu and many simple items such as bean burritos were way overpriced also. Would probably not ever try this place again.

I tried Paco’ s Tacos a couple of days ago. Being a So. Cal native, I am pretty picky about my Mexican food! The sign in front of Paco’s boasts that they have been voted «the best taco in Nevada County». My expectations were still pretty low even considering the win of best taco. Lol.
We ordered the following items:
2 shredded beef tacos
Nachos
A bean and cheese burrito
Steak burrito
Pros:
Food was made fresh to order
Staff were all very friendly and helpful
Steak and beef were cooked well and tasted great
Burritos had a nice grill on the outside tortilla
Salsa was good
Cons:
There seemed to be a bit too much filler items like lettuce and rice in the burrito and not enough meat
Taco also needed more meat. I ordered one taco sans lettuce and so I was able to see the amount of beef in the taco and it had probably about 2 tablespoons of beef. That is NOT an exaggeration.
No salsa bar?
Overall, the food was better than just good. I would give Paco’s 3.5 stars but since I can’t give a half star, I rounded up. I will definitely eat there again with the hope that there is more beef in the tacos.

My boyfriend and I were there over the weekend. He had a veggie burrito and I had a fish taco. Our order came with free chips and they were STALE! My taco was so small and there were barely any fish. I literally had to deconstruct the taco to find the fish. For the price of the taco, I expected more fish, my taco looked more like a lettuce taco. My boyfriend thought his burrito was ok but for the price, we could have gotten one at Raley’s that we can share and taste better too.

So the place looks as if it belongs in an amusement park and the food does too. I’m not sure how many other taco/​Mexican restaurants they have in Nevada county because this should not be a «best of», that’s for sure. The steak burrito I ordered was loose and floppy with more shredded lettuce than steak. It was dripping with bland tomato sauce (salsa I guess), sour cream, and what seemed like refried black beans. I did order black beans but I was expecting whole black beans. The order came with some decently cooked chips but again with the tomato sauce. EVERY TACO SPOT SHOULD HAVE A SALSA BAR. I was working in the area and thought I’d check it out and sorry to say I won’t be returning.

This good place to stopover for lunch post-​studying at Sierra or day tripping to Grass Valley. The taco shells are made in store and are fresh, crispy, and ready to go. They’re good because they’re not greasy and the shredded taco meat is not over salted. That being said, I don’t eat at Taco Bell. I favor the higher quality ingredients of Pacos Tacos and Taco Tree.
We also like to get the quesadillas here. The meals come with a side of chips and fresh salsa. It’s called Pacos Tacos and tacos are their specialty. I don’t deviate much from anything else.

I haven’t been here in a couple of years. My first experience wasn’t that good.
This time it was only slightly better. I thought the tacos were fair. Steak, chicken and fish. Maybe a little too much lettuce on them and not enough meat or fish. the cheese looked like it was packaged shredded cheese and not fresh. Actually, it all looked packaged and not fresh. What I was most concerned about was health code issues. The blonde cashier handled money then went and prepared food without washing her hands. There were several boxes of gloves in plain sight, but the two cooks and the cashier weren’t using any gloves. She also had very long hair and walked through the kitchen prep area while grabbing and twisting her hair around. Not good. For that, I give 2 stars. The food wasn’t outstanding, and barley good. It didn’t impress me enough to want to go back anytime soon.
