Ace Propane

After two con artist propane companies forced me into legal involvement (I won), I found ACE. The have been fair and decent! They do not fill my tank when it is not needed and charge me astronomically. They have actually even notified me when the prices are down. They didn’t con me into renting or buying a new tank when my old 500 gallon tank was just fine (Ace actually tested it). The other companies would not use it (causing rental fees) and it is still in service under Ace. The lack of stress from dealing with Ace makes it OK for the extra $$ to deliver to the hinterlands (Downieville & Sierra City).

I have had Ace propane for more than 6 years now. GREAT GREAT company! Always been reliable, helpful and friendly. Ran out of propane once during all that time and they were there with an emergency fill within two hours after the initial call — and we live in No. San Juan, so not a short distance for them to travel. And NO delivery charge on that emergency fill.
I appreciate that they are a locally owned company instead of a big conglomerate that is just out for a quick buck and gets by with lousy customer service.
Also, they have always had the best prices for propane without compromising on service.

Ace Propane has always been very reliable, friendly, helpful and has excellent customer service. They are a small, local business which I always prefer to support. Kathy Marcione is wonderful in so many ways and is a joy to do business with. I highly recommend Ace Propane!

I am so disappointed in their attitude and service. We had our tank on an automatic refill but they wouldn’t come out to fill it until we called when it was empty. Then of course they would charge another fee to pressurize the line. (Or whatever they were calling it). But we tolerated the poor service because we wanted to support a local business… and all the other reviews were great. But my husband and I have not been impressed at all. We finally just asked them to come pick up a tank that we had already purchased because we would rather deal with a company who can keep the tanks full. Or at least a company who isn’t quite so rude about everything. They came to our home when we were in town and drove right through the middle of the grass leaving tire marks all over our property. Perhaps they were upset after losing our business. Whatever the reason it doesn’t justify destroying someone’s property or trespassing on our land.

Great customer service. Very responsive. Its a small local business, so you get personal attention and they’re friendly.
The owner even came out and made a house call one day when I noticed a gas leak from one of my external pipes. He spent over an hour at my home addressing and fixing the problem, and taught me what to look for/​how to fix it in the future. He then made sure that all my pilot lights were lit before he left. And he did all of this for no charge!

Kathy Marcione makes me feel like part of the ACE Propane family! She expertly determines when and how much propane I need depending upon the prevailing temperatures and seasonal fluctuations. With her in charge, I never worry I will run out of propane!

Ace propane is great! We had ferrel gas for a couple years and would always notice that they would adjust the bill to add an extra dollar per gallon etc. Weird stuff kept happening and when we would call ferrel they would make it hard to adjust the rate they were offering/​promised etc. So, we heard about ACE and were told to use them. Since, then we’ve had excellent rates compared to other companies in town, great customer service and understanding. I can’t say enough about ACE, really nice people great service!

My experience with Ace has been top-​notch. When we first moved to NC, we had no previous experience with propane — and found there are things to learn. Kathy & crew were very helpful, informative and forgiving of some of our earlier mistakes. They also gave us warnings about expected price raises which were very helpful.
Communication is very important to me when doing business with people — Kathy and other Ace people continue to be great to communicate with… even to the point of helping figure out a solution through some rough times.

Well they are charging the property owner for the tank lease. So they are making out with a lot of money. Good for you Ace. Way to find a way to take money from families at the worst time of the year and figuring out how to do it twice.
