Great food and my favorite place to get crapes and their thick sliced bacon. However, the service is horrible, slow, you even have to wait to even be greeted at the door, really. I have been here at the Grapevine location several times and the service just sucks. It always seems to take too much time to receive my food and my guests have commented on how disappointed they were as well. I even spoke to the Manager and he was well, not sure how I can help you. Not even a sorry… so not only is the service bad the manager is just ignorant about customer service. I work in the guest hospitality service here in Grapevine and will no longer refer any of my guests to visit this restaurant. All I can say is too bad. This place has lost all of my future business and more to the point, my guest references.

Food was cold and service was horrible. Never received a refill even though we asked two of the six people that were walking around. The one in Orange County was a million times better than this place. Should have been a $ 20 breakfast instead of a $ 50 breakfast, definitely not worth the money.

They’ve got a good core menu of breakfast staples(pancakes, waffles, sausage, eggs benedict, etc.), but not much interesting variety. That said, the staples are done well and the portions are gigantic(which is good, since the prices reflect that) — the omelettes are huge and super fluffy, the pancakes are solid, and come in several sizes, so you can get silver dollars if you aren’t feeling the giant wagon wheel ones. The Dutch baby looks delicious, but takes forever and a day to make(ok, maybe more like an hour), so don’t wait until you’re hungry to order that one. Also, the fresh-squeezed OJ is every bit as awesome as they say it is. That OJ was honestly the best part of the meal. My companions’ meals were also pretty giant — the French toast was massive, and we received one piece of ham the size of a standard mousepad. The service was reasonably competent, but quite slow — don’t come here if you’re in a hurry or if you’re already very hungry. Ambiance was pretty standard diner, complete with the muffled kitchen noises and bright, sterile, generic furnishings. Aside from some fun murals of old OPH locations on the walls, it really could have been any ol’ IHOP. The food is better than IHOP, and there are more vegetarian selections, but not by too terribly much, and it takes far longer and costs quite a bit more than that late-night stand-by.

This morning was my first time going to this restaurant. I ordered the spinach, cheese and mushroom omelet. There were no mushrooms, lots of spinach, the cheese was in one spot and mostly off the omelet, and it was WAY over cooked. I set it aside and ate the 3 little pancakes. Literally a big plate with a small omelet in the middle. Really looked funny. No toast, catsup, hot sauce or anything unless you requested it??? Just a clumped up dry omelet. I’m almost 50 years old and have never had a dry omelet that I couldn’t fix until today. All this for $ 11+… It was an experience I could have lived another 50 years without. Not exactly a good way to start the day. Their pancakes may be average, but they are definitely not an omelet restaurant. Really left me disappointed to face the rest of the day. :(

Went for Mother’s day breakfast and is usually one of my favorite places, but in the last couple of months the service and the food are not par.

Yes OPH is a chain, but they just happen to be our favorite breakfast one so I stand by my rating. We’ve been to their other locations in Austin and even Chicago that were both awful, but DFW locations get it right. They make the thin waffles I love, of course have delicious pancakes and crepes, as well as their Dutch baby which is something you need to order at least once in your life(I second that also for their apple pancake, but be patient as that one takes time to prepare). Clearly I prefer the sweeter dishes, so if you are team savory at breakfast than take my review lightly. My husband orders a lot of their egg plates and enjoys them, but they aren’t the best he’s ever had. The main reason we come is for the coffee which on its own is great, but when you add their full fat cream is heavenly. I’m so addicted to it that the last time we came here a server recognized me from a picture I had loaded of their coffee to Unilocal, and brought me a free one to drink while we waited for our table. Is that not the coolest thing ever?! I’m so sorry I don’t remember his name, but he completely made my morning. We do remember our server’s name El who was awesome. If you get a chance you need to sit in her section. Also, can we please talk about No Wait for a second? DOWNLOADTHISAPP! It’s 100% free and if you live close by like we do, you can get on the waiting list at home when it’s 30 minutes and only end up waiting 5 – 10 minutes once you arrive. We get the stink eye from other people constantly because they don’t understand how we show up after they do and get seated first(even though there are No Wait ads everywhere, but I digress). Come on people, let’s all help each other out okay? Get the app. Another Pro Tip: Bringing the kidos is fun on the weekends because they hire a non scary(aka not dressed as a clown) balloon artist.

This place is horrible. The service was awful. Food was bland and pancakes were like rubber with a fishy taste to them. Even putting tons of syrup barely helped. Sausage links not cookedall the way. Only thing half way decent was the scrambled egg. When cashier asked how it was and I told her, she was like eh it happens. We will never go here again.

The food is decent but the service is slower than Christmas and they bring the food out separately. So weird. Not our favorite.

Underwhelmed. I ordered the diced ham and scrambled eggs with the pancakes. Food was delivered separately(!?) so I ate the egs/ham first and then the cakes came like 5 minutes later. The eggs were okay, but the pancakes had a strange taste to them. Maybe this is normal for OPH? I only ate half of the order as I couldn’t get through the funny taste. The coffee was good– nice and strong. Just wish it would have been filled more during my visit. I was at my table for around 40 minutes and only received 1 refill. Not a good experience. Our server was nice, when she was around. Ordered a waffle to go for a co-worker and that took forever. I guess I should have timed the order better– afterwards I waited far too long to pay for the meal.

Worst experience ever. Did not even get to sit down because they lost our name 3 times on the list and waited over an hour. Not worth it because their hostesses do not know what their doing. The manager said they would sit us right away. Waited 10 more minutes and left. DONOTWASTEYOURTIMEHERE.

JKL wanted to go to the Federal Court house with me to watch as I got sworn in to the Federal Bar. The ceremony was brief. I raised my right hand and swore allegiance to the Constitution. Federal Judge Hoozitz terse admonition: «Behave in a civil manner toward your colleagues.» Shortly thereafter I found myself in the restaurant in the Benson Hotel. We could have gone to the official Original Pancake house on SW Barbur BLVD. We went to the Benson instead. I watched her sparkling green eyes light up as she smiled sweetly and ordered Salmon Benedict for $ 28.00. I had the same. It was wonderful. Speaking of pancakes, my existence has brought me to the great big pancake called DFW, and on a recent Sunday I found myself driving to the Original Pancake House in Grapevine, Texas. Streets are often named for important people who have passed. I have discovered that William D. Tate is alive! He is the mayor of Grapevine, Texas. Mr. Tate is also on the Tax Increment Financing District Reinvestment Zone, Number 1 and Number 2. I do not have a street named for me. The Original Pancake House in Grapevine is on William D. Tate Avenue. I found the coffee to be superior. The bacon seems superior. My fresh squeezed grapefruit juice was superior. I had the western omelette, and it was baked. It was not superior, but is was adequate. One of the people at my table had the apple pancake, and it looked like a beautiful, wet apple fritter. I suggest this dish. I am pretty sure that William D. Tate would agree.

I like this place better than IHOP because there is more options here. They have bacon pancakes here and they are really good. My favorite fruit is pineapple and they have the Hawaiian pancakes which has pineapple in them. They also have vegetarian food choices here as well. My sister doesn’t eat meat so she was able to find something to eat here. She had the vegetarian omelette and she liked it. I had to get the bacon pancakes because bacon is the best. they have interesting pancake flavors that are worth trying.

I’ve been to a few OHOP locations and this one is by far the worst. The service is well below average, as is the food in comparison to other locations. The most recent time I went was a Sunday around noon. My family of 5 gave our name and number to the host and were told it was a 20 – 30 minute wait. After 30 minutes, we went up to the host to get a new time estimate. He searched the list and realized we were not on it. He immediately remembered us, apologized, and told us to just wait another minute. We were soon after sat at a table that could’ve fit about 7 or 8 and asked for drink orders. After 5 minutes, she brought some of the correct drinks, some incorrect. It took being reminded a few times to bring my mom’s drink out. After much deliberation, my sister decided on the waffles… Too bad the batter was made incorrectly that day and they decided they were not going to serve anyone waffles… Lame I ordered the Dutch Baby with fruit as I have done at other locations. However, this location has never heard of the fruit addition and they brought a small side of fruit($ 3.59) for me to add to the dish myself. This made my breakfast totally to over $ 13 before tip. The side was brought out 22 minutes before the food. I have also ordered the strawberry crepes here and have been disappointed how stingy they were with the fruit compared to other locations. The bacon on my dad’s, brother’s, and sister’s 2 by 2 was quite blackened but they enjoyed the rest of their food. My mom said her omelette was pretty good. The pumpkin pancakes were tasty, not overwhelmingly pumpkiny though.(For all you white girls out there like me craving a fall treat, this may not be as exciting as what you’re expecting…) Getting a refill was near impossible and the coffee cups were pretty small. Overall the food isn’t bad, the place has a lot of potential and just needs a serious rehab.

Had breakfast here today with 5 other coworkers. It was our first time and probably our last. We often have breakfast out and try different places all the time. First off our waiter did not seem to like the fact that 6 of us were being sat at a table with 8 places. He probably asked me five times if this was it and I said yes 6 over and over. Next the prices are very high. Strawberry pancakes with no egg, bacon, or anything was $ 10. That’s too much as i wanted a variety. A few regular items were missing: they had no flavored creamer for coffee. They also had no jam on the table. When we did get our food my eggs came out cold and runny… I ordered them scrambled! First time I’ve ever passed on eggs. The hash browns were home style and not typical but tasted ok. The bacon was thick and large but floppy and more raw than cooked. Service was just ok and not great. My bill came up to $ 14 and change + $ 3 tip so $ 17 and change. This is a lot for breakfast and there are tons of other places that I like better. Wont be coming back.

I pass by this place all the time on the way to lunch, so I was excited to actually try it out this time. Unfortunately, it was nothing like I expected. I was in the mood for pancakes, and I thought this would be the perfect place to satisfy my cravings. I ordered the beef hash with eggs and a side of the chocolate chip pancakes. The beef hash was a little too mushy and flavorless. I had to put a lot of salt and drench it in tabasco to make it even edible. The chocolate chip pancakes tasted kind of odd. I can’t place my finger quite on it, but it seems like the pancakes were sitting out for a long time before it was brought to the table. All of this was $ 10 before tax. I could get way better food at iHop or Waffle House. And for the cherry on top, my friend found a piece of plastic in her waffle. It was just not an enjoyable experience. I can overlook everything else, but to have something like a piece of plastic in the food is unacceptable. It also took almost 20 – 25 minutes for us to get our food, which was disappointing because we only had an hour lunch break. Safe to say, I probably won’t be returning. I would be stopping by iHop for my fixing of pancakes next time.

Lets start by going over the not-so-loveable aspects of this restaurant… I didn’t love the service. Waiter was short with us, with bad attitude and not very friendly. Why? Who knows. But it just ruins the entire experience. I didn’t love that this place was infested with flies! Around the kitchen area, the entire flys family was dining with us. Tables next to us asked to be moved. I decided to suffer through it, mainly because I didn’t want more of an attitude from waiter. I didn’t love the feel of the restaurant, it wasn’t very inviting or cozy. Just felt very cold. Personal opinion obviously! I didn’t love that you had to pay 2 dollars to add a topping on your omelet. Really? Didn’t see that coming. Now for some love, I did love the food. I’m not a breakfast person but I loved the variety. Hashbrowns and pancakes, simple but loved it! Thats about it!

It is a very family oriented breakfast joint. Kind of gives off that old-style feel. I went here on a Sunday morning with my roommate and her boyfriend. It was super crowded — church crowds, I presume. We were sitting in the waiting area for roughly 15+ minutes, and customers walking in and out were really just inches away from us. By crowded, I mean, the people around you would be within a 3 inch radius. My anxiety kind of kicked in… sort of. I just don’t like crowds to that extent, or else I’ll implode. The one thing I noticed is they don’t have an updated system where you can give customers a pager notifying them that their table is ready. It was kind of annoying, to say the least. You’ll hear the hostess scream, «Williams party of 4! Williams party of 4!» on repeat, making herself louder than the existing noise congesting the building. She will go on doing the same for other parties. To lower the volume of the building by a few notches, it would be nice to not have to opt for that. Get those little pager things! Anyway, I really liked there was a lady making balloons for the kids in the waiting area. What a nice little piece of entertainment to distract you from a short wait. The food was very decent(photos attached). Very comparable to IHOP, but with a less corporate feel. We saw a lot of families and senior citizens around us. It felt nice — kind of a home away from home.

We arrived around 2pm last Saturday. No one greeted us at the door. There were 3 workers at the front register but still no one said anything & they all shuffled around trying to find the hostess(who was not at the host stand). Someone could have at least said HI or can you please wait a minute while I get the hostess so she can seat you… But nooooo, the workers kind of just stared and made US seem like we were at the wrong place. Anyways, the hostess tried to seat us at 3 different area? Really? Idk if she was new but it was annoying to have to walk around the restaurant to find our«table» that we should be at. We finally sat down and our waiter, I think Dominic was his name, greeted us, got our drinks/order. He was fantastic! Super friendly and hospitable. I ordered the turkey wrap and I didn’t want the mustard cream cheese spread in my meal because I hate mustard so he ended up bringing it on the side just incase I wanted to try it and changed my mind. Good thing he did! It was delicious! He even gave us sugar free syrup. Aweomeeee. Overall our meal was good, but the front desk service area was NOT.

This is one of the best breakfast places, and my go-to breakfast spot anytime(not just breakfast time). This location is bigger than the one in Frisco. Sometimes the wait could be long on weekends, like 20 minutes of waiting. I don’t mind though. They always have a great breakfast! I have tried a lot of different menu items here and they are all fantastic! Breakfast places are not my normal type of venue, but this is a much better alternate to IHOP and Denny’s to be honest! My favorites all the time are mandarin and strawberry crepes and any flavors of their pancakes(49’er is the best!). My boyfriend loves their bacon pancakes! They are different and amazing. Don’t forget fresh orange juice too. It is really FRESH! The coffee here is really delicious. The extra side of bacon at $ 3.49 was a little pricey, but the bacon was mighty tasty and worth it. Service here is sometimes hit or miss, though I’ve always been treated nice here. The staffs are very friendly and attentive. I will definitely come back again. Actually I can’t wait to go back. My boyfriend and I love breakfast! Mmm yummmm! Can I have crepes all the time? :P
