Specialties

As a custom winery, not only do we make our own wines for sale by the bottle where we specialize in unique and interesting varietals and blends, but we can customize a wine to your palette. In addition, you get to participate in the wine making process by bottling and corking your wine and placing your own personalized label.

We also have an extensive selection of wine gifts including fun and unique wine glasses, wine t-shirts, and numerous other gift items. Our tasting room is also great for corporate mixers, team building meetings, or customer appreciation events. We also have held numerous birthday parties, bridal showers, anniversaries and other events.

History

Established in 2003.

Su Vino Winery, founded in 2003, is a family owned and operated winery located in the historic downtown of Grapevine, Texas which is just a few miles from the DFW airport. Su Vino is an award winning winery with a twist, not only have we won over 50 medals for our wines, but we were the first custom winery located in Texas and in the Southwest.

We also strive to make wine more fun and friendly by breaking down the barriers of wine speak and wine snobbery. We hold educational sessions to help people get more comfortable with wine and we are all about trying new wines in new ways. Our friendly staff is always willing to share a recommendation of their favorite wine or restaurant. Because of our great staff, we have even been named one of the «Best Places to Work» by the Dallas Business Journal.

We invite you to come and join us for some Texas hospitality and to taste our wines. We think you’ll agree with D Magazine that named us as «Best Grapes» in 2003.

I was able to check out this winery during Grapefest last year when they were sampling a few selections! I loved their lighter, sweeter varieties. Just perfect for summer time, pool time and warmer weather! I definitely need to venture back and try some more items on the menu. The folks that work there are very friendly and knowledgable about Texas wines! I definitely would make a stop in if you’re cruising around historic downtown Grapevine and check it out! There’s plenty of shopping, restaurants and parking in the area to make a day out of enjoying some wonderful local wines.

Su Vino is a small but fun winery, if you ask me. Lots of different wines with creative names like Cheeky Monkey, Spring Fling and Summer Rain. Pretty much everything I’ve tasted here (which is almost everything) is a good choice.
Service can be slow, as it’s a small place and there’s usually only 2 people working. If it’s full, just walk around the street and wait for it to thin out. It’s worth the wait.
Also, make sure you get the candied jalapenos appetizer. They pour them on top of a large wedge of cream cheese and serve with crackers. You’ll literally be scraping your plate, it’s so freaking good.
The wine and flights are super affordable, so this should fit everyone’s budget. Also, try to have cash on hand, if possible. Sometimes their credit card machine goes down and it can take a while to get it going again. Salud!

Eh… not exactly the best place for wine in Grapevine but they do have a cute shop with some shirts and girls night décor. The staff isn’t super friendly or engaging but then again every time I’ve been there it’s been packed so I’m sure they’re just a bit frazzled.
I’d say the wines are primarily sweet and they do have some creative blends of flavors (though most of them are waaaaay too sweet). A tasting is $ 10 which seems to be on par with other places but you don’t get to keep the glass. I think we’ll skip here next time mainly because there are just other great places just a few blocks away.

Can I give less than 1 star?! The wine is probably made out of a kit, they all taste almost the same. Fruit juice with alcohol added to it.
There is no variety specific nose or taste on any of them. It is not worth your time and money.
The ports are interesting but overpriced like everything else.
If you do not know much about wine you may enjoy it though… there were a few people around us who were smacking there lips and seemed to like it. The glasses were small and we never got to see the bottles, so our 4 tastes could have been the same wine and that is why they tasted so much alike: jammy, smokey, leatherish.

Service is great here and the bar is clean. We really enjoyed the two Texas wines but everything else was basic. Their gift shop has a lot of fun stuff to look at and the bottles are reasonably priced. Our pourer was fun and very informative.

Great atmosphere! It was very laid back! We (two of us) got one tasting each (4 tastings for $ 6) then split a third tasting. Everything was delicious. I was delightfully surprise with their dessert wine selection. We tried almost every wine and loved them all. I even left with my own bottle of Summer Rain! I would recommend to add this sweet white to your tasting. It is sweet, but not too sweet. I normally do not drink sweets, but I can’t say enough good things about this wine! I will be back often!

We went to su vino on our wine tour. To my understanding they only mix wine which you can bottle yourself for special occasions and create your own label to slap on the bottle (seems pretty cool to me). They have some ok wines mostly fruity stuff, I did find one I liked enough to buy. The wine accessories in the store are over priced and the staff not overly friendly.

This was the first time I visited Su Vino Winery. Each time we came into town we kept missing them. I am glad that we finally were able to do a tasting.
First, the service was fabulous. Our server was very knowledgeable about the various wines and helped me pick out a variety of different ports to try. My favorite was the Mo Joe. It had a coffee finish.
Second, the shop is super cute. The price is right (under $ 10 for four tastings) and they have a variety of merchandise.
This is a home run! Come try it out :)

If you are a big fan of ‘wine bling’ or whatever they call all the chintzy «girls wine night» swag, you will find an ample supply to greet you full-on as you enter the door. I seriously wondered where the winery bit was located. Off to the side, we did see the wine racks filled with the Su Vino vintages for sale.
We eventually found the bar hidden behind the kiosks and some tables to the left. We weren’t really greeted by the staff, but we lingered long enough that one of them took pity on us and guessed that we hadn’t been there before; she probably didn’t realize we were trying to figure out what the concept was. But she was pleasant and welcoming, so we took a seat by the front window for a tasting ($ 6 for 4 wines of your choice).
Aside from the retailer entrance, which REALLY detracts from the entrance, the wines were decent. We found we like most of what we tried, most of it seemed very ‘fruit forward’ which we were fortunately in the mood for and are probably very good entry-level wines to get your friends off the white zinfandel (do they even still make that?). Here’s a few notes:
Chardonnay — Good, buttery
Cabernet Sauvignon — Delicious, smoky, peppery
Dusty Trail — good/decent
Black Forest — liquid dessert. Cherry chocolate port.
We also had a glass ($ 7 for reds) of Bella Rosa, which we found as an excellent, full bodied fruit with a smoky finish.
Small Cheese Platter for two at $ 9.99. Cubed yellow and white cheese bites with chocolate covered raisins, dried cranberries and ritz crackers.
Now that we figured it out, we’ll likely return when promenading down Main St.

Working in Grapevine, my boss decided to have our little department Christmas party kick off with a wine tasting here, on Main Street.
Su Vino does a good job of serving the community of Grapevine, adding another Texas winery to the landscape and providing a storefront for mostly women and other local clientele to drink and be merry. It does not provide wines that could hold their own against California or anywhere else, really. There is no sommelier there to educate you or give recommendations. As long as you temper your expectations, you will have a fine time.
They do serve some basic appetizers to go along with your wine, a basic cheese and chocolate plate, baked brie and crackers, hummus with pita chips, assorted olives. Basically what you can assemble together at any grocery store if asked to host a last minute shindig.
I did enjoy the Trailhead, a cabernet — merlot blend, and strangely enough the Almond Champagne, but I won’t be going back. What’s the point when you can get better wine, better food, and better service at any grocery store?

I did not really feel welcome here. We went in for a tasting and did not feel like the hostesses there educated us on their wines or their wine making process.
They were just sort of nonchalant about their service.
It was afternoon on a Saturday and we are basically the only people there. Stay away from bad service and from their reds because neither were very good.

Rated 3 stars only because this place was not my «cup of tea.» It is a wine sampling, wine store type place and I went as part of a corporate group. It is a fruit winery which to me is reminiscent of drinking Bartles and Jaymes in the 80’s. Some people really like that though and if you do then this is your place. They have White Strawberry Merlot and Peach Chardonnay along with Almond Champagne.
They have a lot of wine accessories on sale and I bought a cute wine glass skirt.
We were also able to bottle wine ourselves, they had a red and white (brought it home to FL, opened it and wasn’t to my liking). Bottling the wine was super cool and they had labels with our conference logo on them which was unique and cool.
They are on the main street running through the cute town of Grapevine which is worth a walk /lookey see.

The only Grapevine winery that we consistently buy wine from. The ports are so good and an easy go-to gift — I’ve yet to give a bottle of one of their ports to someone who didn’t end up going to buy more.
Going to do a wine tasting here is always a nice date — they have a decent selection of appetizers and as a clumsy person, I love the tasting that includes a wine glass. I always need replacements :)
Their red wines are so good — I love the Cab Franc Merlot, and now that it’s out of season the Quintetto has been a delicious replacement.
Seasonally, the Tipsy Reindeer wine is awesome around Christmas. As someone who will never attempt to make mulled wine, this wine is an much easier way to enjoy that spicy holiday yumminess.
We’ve always had good service and love the reasonably priced wines. For those of you who like lighter, sweeter wines they have a wide assortment of interesting fruity wines like their Cheeky Monkey wine with hints of banana. There’s really something for everyone here.

Great people, great wine, what more can a gal ask for?! Whether you want a tasting, glass, bottle… or just to have a damn good time w/friends & the employees of SuVino, this is the place to be! What starts as a simple tasting of Cab turns into many memories w/the friends you’ll be making here. It’s a family owned Winery, and if you come here often enough you’ll become part of that family. Even if you end up moving back to NH… or where ever you came from ;)
