Sears Outlet

This is an easy 2 star review. The delivery date was met but the time was not accurate. It was 6 hours earlier than expected forcing us to scramble to meet them on time for our appliances. Who knows what would happen if we rescheduled the delivery for a few hours later? The prices were good and I received what I purchased in the store. Details are below…

1.) Called in, asked for Greg. When he wasn’t there I was told to call back later instead of asking if I could be helped. Whoever I spoke to was either having a bad day or just legitimately did not care (or both…)
2.) I called in later (which I didn’t want to do) and was given a time that did not match what the delivery company provided. But, I did feel better knowing it was scheduled and they had a record of it.
3.) Logistical /​delivery issues (see below)

1.) When I called in a very nice woman answered and provided me details (and peace of mind) I needed.
2.) Prices were great, appliances work and the installation was handled.
I know things can get tricky with so many parties getting involved to make things happen but they need to work on communicating delivery details if I am paying extra money for delivery. I would expect these services if the delivery was free. Charging a fee and providing terrible communication and service is not acceptable.
My advice:
Hire a moving company to come and get the appliances from Sears Outlet stores. It may cost more than you would like, but at least they will be motivated to provide you a good experience. We did not know this was possible until our movers showed up let us know they provided this service. Lesson learned.

Busy on Black Friday, we ordered furniture from here and the people who moved the furniture to our house in Lewisville, the dresser was damaged.
My uncle was about to bitch about it, so he called the store and they told him call another number, he called «the number they gave him» and told him to call the number that he just hung up on. He got so mad.
We went to the store to discuss this and they finally said they would replace the damaged dresser by Wednesday and replace it with an undamaged dresser that same day. Phew.

Service: Zero stars!
Delivery date: Forget to put me on the schedule. Had to reschedule 3 times.
Delivery service: Left no warranty paperwork, and no key to the freezer.
Customer service: Donna (service manager) did not call me back. 2 Employees hung up on me (Steve & someone). Was told «District manager» would call me, never happened. Was told «regional manager» was aware of me, and would reach out-​Never happened.
I literally had to go back to the store, go find a similar appliance and physically take the warranty information, users manual, and physical key out.
I never got an apology. There was no compensation or consideration for the 8 hours (over 3 days) I had to take off work.
They took my money, and didn’t care if they ever talked to me again.
If I didn’t constantly badger these people, I doubt they would have even bothered to deliver my appliance!
I will admit… after screaming for an hour… they did waive my delivery fee (on the 4^th time we talked to them)! Although this should have been a courtesy when they «forgot to schedule» my delivery the first time!
AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!

This is by FAR the worst place I’ve ever had the displeasure to purchase anything from. Only one representative knew what they were doing, and on top of that, when the delivery guy came, he insisted we get an electrician to come and install the range for us instead! A lousy store hires a lousy delivery company. Never have I ever been more displeased with a store. Truly disgusted.

Stay away from this store, customer services is horrible, bought a washer and dryer the young man through in the parts to hook it up, heres the crazy part, they send out the wrong part saying they have not had the right part for awhile, instead of giving me something that did not work, you should have been honest and told me I needed to purchase the correct part from another store, instead of having me wait 5 days and you still not able to deliver the product… REFUND…WHAT A RIP OFF… Grapevine Mills Mall

So I noticed this gem today and thought I would make the people of Unilocal aware. When I purchased the washer and dryer I was approved for a sears credit card and I put the purchase on there. I was told that if the balance was paid in full in 12 months no interest would be charged. I plan to pay it off much sooner than that, so that was fine with me. When you get a credit card they give you a «temporary shopping pass» which is good for the day of your purchase since your card has yet to arrive in the mail. I was looking at the receipt today when cleaning out some papers and noticed that it actually says no interest if paid in full within 6 months. Yes, 6, not 12, as previously told. He actually wrote down the amount I would need to pay per month to pay it off in 12 months and not accrue interest, too! So if you go that route keep that in mind, they will lie to your face and say 12 months but it’s actually 6. I bet that has gotten several people who ended up paying interest on their purchase while Struggling Sears Rakes It In (how’s that for a headline?)
I am a horrible liar so I guess I will never work there… I can’t lie to a customer’s face the way the salesman lied to us.
On the positive side the washer is working now and the dryer is too once the vents got blown out. The district manager actually contacted me but since I had someone coming out already I didn’t see the point in responding… although if that same person would like to contact me about being lied to regarding when you get charged interest that would sure be nice, not that there’s anything to be done about it. I am betting on radio silence though.
I wish I had noticed at the time and said something, I sure feel stupid.

The only reason I’m giving two stars is because I did buy a stove, washer and dryer back in 2011 that still work. But beware of refrigerators! The one I purchased never cooled AT ALL. When I went back to the store to find another, the only one in the size I require wasn’t the color I wanted. But it was acceptable.
They told me it would be another week before it could be delivered, despite the fact I was sold a lemon. I thought perhaps the delivery guys only worked a couple days a week. Not true: they deliver six days a week. Sears couldn’t squeeze me in sooner?
Fast forward to yesterday when the replacement refrigerator was delivered. After it was hooked up we discovered the freezer door wouldn’t close! Try as they might, they couldn’t get the door adjusted. I told them to take it away and that I’m through doing business with Sears Outlet.
For a company I’ve learned to trust from my late parents who were huge Sears shoppers, it’s very disappointing to see this decline in both products and service. A phone call with a Sears Outlet customer service person was enlightening: these appliances are not just floor model scratch ‘n dent models but «refurbished.» While I have bought refurb computers without a problem, the complexities of modern appliances requires a LOT more quality control. I certainly hope Sears addresses this issue soon or fear they may go the way of the dodo bird.

I bought a Oven on Feb 28 a 30″ electric, they delivered the wrong one on March 10^th. I have been trying to get them to deliver me the correct model since. Worst experience ever. I cannot believe this, the oven they delivered is not even a 30″. The only options they give me is a total refund, or to buy a new Item and I pay the difference. The manager admitted the item was mis-​tagged, and even said they would have to buy me a new one, with them eating the difference plus. Now the manager will not return my calls, he will have a supervisor call me. I also called Sears corporate, they said that because the outlets are franchised they cannot do anything to help me.

I don’t know about the other items in this store, but they always have my refrigerator’s water filter in stock saving me a twenty minute drive to a regular Sears store.
I suppose it looks like any other warehouse outlet (not very different than a Costco or Sam’s Club); minimal signage and a spartan design. Nothing spectacular, just products neatly arranged on the floor, pallets and/​or basic shelves
The staff have always been friendly to me, and I am able to get in, get what I need, and then get on with my day. To me, that’s shopping done right!

The worst place I have ever purchased anything from!!! They delivered a broken washer, lied to my face over and over, and made it nearly impossible to get it repaired or replaced. I will NEVER buy anything from here again!

I am not a fan of the Sears Outlet in the Grapevine Mills Mall. It just doesnt have much of an inventory or any good stuff inside. The store always looks as if it is closing down.

No selection and is worse than the one located in Dallas. Not even worth the price. I wasted my gas.

Pricing is the only reason to come here. And then you should know that for the 20% you will save you may have to come back several times to find what you are looking for.
The thing that really drives down any hope for a good rating is the consistently bad service. Because of our business we buy several major appliances a year and usually from here. Almost every time the service is horrible! It’s not bad, it’s horrible.
The sales people appear lazy and apathetic, totally uninterested in helping you. Most times I have to go get one to stop talking with another salesman to come help me… And usually they seem to be upset about it and very rarely do they actually know what they are talking about. This week we went in again to buy a dryer and although we were the ONLY customers in the store and there were at least 6 employees wondering the store including the young manager we were never even addressed as we looked through the various dryers. Not finding exactly the model we were looking for we again walked all the way through the store to the exit without being addressed at all. On the way out we passed 2 salesmen and the manager who were all carrying on personal conversations but could not be bothered with customers. The service borders on offensive and is at the very least ridiculous.
This place can save you a bit of money but if you choose to shop here be prepared for frustration.
