Perkins Randall D O Leading Edge Medical Ctr

I have been a patient of Dr. Perkins for 30 years. He is by far one of the most knowledgeable family physicians there are. He stays up with the latest medical changes and adjusts my personalized care as I grow older. Highly recommend. There were some problems with the office staff several years ago but he obviously made some internal changes because they are a wonderful group of ladies now.

Great and friendly office staff and Dr. Perkins actually listens and talks to you! He doesn’t treat you like a $$.

I am actually puzzled at a couple of the negative comments on the reviews of Leading Edge Medicine. I have been a patient of the practice since moving to the HEB area.
Dr Perkins is a D.O. with a vast medical knowledge. Prior to moving to Dr Perkins practice I was seeing numerous specialist for some ongoing medical issues. Dr Perkins has been able to reduce the number of medications I was taking and reduce the number of specialist as well.
I am not a fan of the merger with Texas Health at all. I personally would not willing seek medical care with any of the hospitals operated by Texas Health. In the event that I require admission into the hospital I continue to go to Grapevine Baylor. Dr Perkins is no longer on staff with Baylor so I am passed onto one of the hospitalist but it works out. I just give the hospital the name of the hospital that Dr Perkins recommended. The staff at Dr Perkins office is very good about faxing over my medical records and alerting the hospitalist that I am being admitted.
My experiences have always been extremely positive and never have I felt that the care was anything but superior.

I’ve been very happy with Dr. Perkins and his staff for 15 years and counting, with no plans to change until he retires.

These people at Leading Edge Medicine have the most screwed up office staff and billing system I have ever seen in my entire experience in dealing with healthcare providers.
My family has been going to see Dr Perkins for years and we have full insurance coverage and gap coverage, and a decent funded HRA and income, and these people in their office and «billing department» scr*w up every possible way they could in billing their services and dealing with insurance companies. They confuse payments, lose payments, combine one visit services with other visit services and have almost no intelligible audit trail in their billings.
Then, because of their in incompetance billing, posting transactions, posting payments, and sending invoices, often the first invoice you get from them is either a «FINAL BILL» or one where they have turned it over to the CSI collection agency (and therefore lose 30%+ of their revenues off the top), and Dr Perkins must apparently eat that loss. I seriously have many instances where the first bill I get from them is from a collection agency. Only with Leading Edge Medicine have I experienced this level of buffonery. Call the office and talk to «Manila» their accounts manager and she is completely lost as well.
I have rarely seen a problem in any other healthcare provider as bad as this. I like Dr. Perkins but his support staff is diabolically bad.

They will lie to you, call you a liar, and bankrupt you! When I first called, I was told my insurance would cover all but the $ 20 office co-​pay, That the medication my son needs would be covered 100%, as a coupon was available that would cover the co-​pay. ALL LIES! Over $ 100 for the visit, AFTER insurance (Blue Cross/​Blue Shield PPO, so no fly by night coverage), and the medication for 2 days was over $ 100 AFTER insurance. In addition to the fact that we called on Friday and were told they were closing for the day, at 2:44pm? We were told to call back on Monday morning and they could get my son in at the first of the week, no problem. We called first thing Monday morning and they gave us a Wednesday appointment, not the first part of the week, but we took it. My husband took off work, on Monday and Tuesday, (the first of the week) to get my son taken care of. They got to that office and were told the appointment was for the NEXT Wednesday! After a lot of arse kissing by my husband, they agreed to go ahead and see my son that day. The first day he only got a prescription for one day, and was required to come back the next day, then again in a week. So, this is now my full time job — educating the general public about this doctor. I filed a complaint with the Federal, State, and local agencies that regulate Dr. Perkins, Dr. Patel, and Leading Edge Medical. If they close and start someplace else with a new name, I will follow. If my son’s health suffers due to their misinformation, I will sue them! When i called today and spoke with the office manager Chris (her contact info will be on twitter and my website), she called me a liar. I work for a large telecommunications company and my brother, my attorney, suggests I record all my phone calls.

This practice used to be in Bedford and since it moved to Grapevine it simply doesnt care about its patients. They only care about what and who they can bill for and to. I cannot express what a bad experience going to Leading Edge is. With Baylor just up the road, find a doctor there and stay away from these uncaring people.
