These guys are SO GREAT. I had to have my car towed there (and I couldn’t leave work) and they received it, diagnosed it and fixed it within the day. THEN I didn’t have a way to pick it up (without Über, etc) and they stayed late, drove my car to my house and picked me up. No extra charge and no big deal. I cannot recommend Brown enough. They were not only gentlemen, but also great mechanics. Thank you so much!

These guys are trustworthy and I can’t recommend them highly enough. My car broke down while I was at the Post Office, they zipped over, jump started my car and I got over to their shop and they fixed it right up for a great, fair price. They are a family business and are seriously customer focused. we have used them several times now and they are always easy to work with, honest and do great work.

We brought our company cars in thinking they would need complete brake jobs. These guys could have taken advantage of «the company car client & chick» but they were 100% honest about it not needing anything done for another 10k miles! NTB or any other mechanic would have said I needed «something «replaced. We will bringing all our cars up here and recommending them to EVERYONE!

Very honest and fair! Brought in a vehicle that appeared to be having electrical problems however they couldn’t get it to duplicate! Turns out the new battery I installed a few days before had simply caused a slow relearn by the vehicle’s computer and nothing was wrong. No charge for looking at it. They know their stuff so will be taking my vehicles there in the future in the future!

Brought my car in after an attemping (and failing) to recharge the AC myself. They got it working right and when I asked for some routine maintenance to be done, they said it was too soon. I appreciate the honesty and will be back. They also gave me a ride home which is really convenient.

I was fortunate enough to find Brown’s auto shop when I moved here in 1996. Since then I have had all of the work on my cars done there as well as having Richard check out any car that I considered purchasing. The repairs are done right and at a fair price. Their experience and knowledge on many types and vintages of cars is impressive. It is refreshing to work directly with the owner which helps with scheduling and repair options. A great locally owned business that really cares about its customers.

I’ve been a customer since they opened. All three of my Fords are still running great. Brown’s just finished working on my 2001 Expedition with 305k miles and it runs great.

Like another reviewerI was quoted a price elsewhere to charge my AC freon for three times the price.
I have been to Brown’s three times now. Once for an electrical issue. Once for AC freon charging. This week to find the mystery noise which turned out to be a belt that needed adjusted. I was never treated as a dumb girl. I was never treated as a cash cow. I was treated with respect and honesty. This is a good and honest car shop. I will give them my business in the future.

I needed to get my air conditioner recharged. Another shop had quoted $ 250-​$ 300, and they would have to evacuate the system and then recharge it, something no other shop has ever told me before. I called Brown’s and Mr. Brown is the one I talked to. He explained the benefits of doing the evacuation, but if I didn’t want to pay for this, and only needed the A/​C to get me through the summer, he would be happy to do just the recharge. Cost would be under $ 100.
He got me in the very next day, even though I wasn’t able to get my car to him first thing, like I had planned.
When I went to pick up my car, the cost was under $ 100, as promised, and Mr Brown had even evacuated the A/​C system before recharging it, because he knew that it would be better for the system in the long run! This same service would have cost 3 times at the otherwise unnamed Christian automotive repair shop.
I’m definitely happy with my choice and will be taking my car back to Brown’s in the future.

Received a call from the owner, who apologized and even offered credit. After speaking with him, I have a sense of regained trust. He seems as though he cares about his customers satisfaction.

Short answer: Based on my experience, I am giving them five stars. I wish they were closer to me (I chose them for proximity to my brother, because his car was the primary reason I was looking for a shop).
The long answer: This is my first experience with (Richard) Brown’s Auto Service. I went there primarily because of their reviews on Angie’s List and Unilocal.I was impressed by the good reviews and the bad reviews, the latter of which he seemed to handle well in terms of customer satisfaction and follow-​up. He seemed unusually committed to insuring his customers were treated fairly.
I had two cars serviced here.
On a 1998 Saturn, which I used to own, but gave to my brother, we took it in for a variety of problems — squealing belts, loose brakes, etc. We had the following work done on it:
— Serpentine belt tensioner replaced
— Master cylinder replaced
— Catalytic converter replaced
— Fuel tank pressure sensor
He charged $ 98 for diagnostics. I am OK with that because their labor on the rest of the work was not excessive. Many places include «free» diagnostics if you do the work there, but that is because they have so much slop in their labor cost that they can afford it.
My brother was unable to drop off the car for prolonged periods, which made things problematic, but Richard handled it well and was very patient and considerate.
I had them do the alignment on my 2011 Ford Fusion Hybrid. There’s really not much to say on an alignment. It cost $ 120. They don’t do the alignments on site. Rather, they check out the car, then send it to a partner for the alignment, then check the results sent back with the car after the alignment. I may have been able to get it done more cheaply, but I am confident in the process they use and, frankly, with the way they handled the work on my brother’s car, I was happy to give them more work.
I spent a lot of time talking with Richard throughout the process and unlike most mechanics with whom I have dealt over the decades, what he said made sense or was reassuring, as opposed to sending off warning flags in my head. Of course, time will tell the tale, but everything looks good now. I will update this review as needed.

I took my car in to get a note to give to the court to say my speedometer wasn’t working. Mr Brown hookd up my car to his mobile computer and drove it around for 10 minutes. He checked all the sensors to make sure everything was working and found only the speedometer was not. Came back to the shop and printed out the written report for me with an estimate to fix it. Total cost $ 0 he had never seen me before in his life. What a great guy.

Hats off to Richard and his team over at Brown’s Auto Center. I took my CRV there with an engine light on and faltering acceleration and was desparate to get it back in service due to upcoming commitments out of town. He was thorough and even showed me the used parts and what the computer analysis showed on the new parts. I have no idea about what goes on under the hood of my vehicle but I do trust what Richard tells me. He is not looking for the quick fix but is interested in doing the right thing to ensure that your vehicle is repaired right at a fair price.
He and his team went above and beyond to get my vehicle back to me with 24 hours. Much appreciated. Would recommend him and his team without hesitation

I believe in the three strikes you’re out rule. They talk a good game and I wanted to believe in their service quality. 1. I had two front axles replaced on my Lexus and it was making an unusual noise and I took it back and took a ride with the owner. He confirmed there was an uncommon noise. He wanted me to bring it in when I could leave it all day. 2. I decided to have the rear shocks replaced and after completing that task they would look at front end. Again, not enough time to do both in a day even though the shocks were two hour job. Less then a week later the air bags in the rear end had some kind of intermittent leak. A couple weeks go by and I bring it by to have oil changed and the previous two repairs looked at again. They didn’t have time that day and told me if I could drop off the following day they could get to the described task. Dropped off the car at 7:00 AM and called after they opened to list the priority of repairs, first oil change, second rear air bags and third front end noise. I needed the car back by 12:00 and I got a call at 12:20 stating that they didn’t have the time to get any thing completed today. That was the last straw! My opinion is: they don’t value your time and they are not too interested in correcting previous repairs. PS .My son took his car there for repairs and it took an additional day then what was stated.
About a month later… after I had the repairs done at another repair shop I returned to Brown’s to discuss the reason for the noise and the cost that was incurred. The owner wrote me a check and apologized.
I received a phone call from the owner a couple months later after reading my review on Unilocal.He was honestly concerned about what had happened and wanted to do what was right and make me happy. That takes guts… It is my opinion that he is a caring owner and wants to do the right thing. I will give him two additional stars for the way he has handled the situation.

GREAT service! I called when they were closed and didn’t even leave a message. CALLED back in case I had an emergency… brought it in and serviced it first available when open again… FAST, HONEST, PLEASANT! I will be returning with my other cars soon and often!

Fair, honest, family owned and operated car repair shop. My husband has been a loyal customer for years, and today they won me over too. You won’t find a better guy than Richard Brown. He doesn’t try to up sell you or make you get services you don’t need simply because the odometer gets to a certain mileage. I was very impressed with the whole experience and the hometown charm is unmatched. Brown’s Auto has a new fan in me!
