This company had a food station at the Blackberry Arts Festival in Coo’s Bay OR this weekend. The first thing my mother and I said was CALAMARI!!! So I ran over and ordered some right away as they wasn’t anyone waiting in line to roder. There was a couple people who had ordered before me and I watched as their food was taken out, prepped, battered and then fried then arranged on the plate. The person behind me ordered Calamari also and then I asked for tomatoes too. What should have taken a max of 5 minutes took about 20 minutes, NOJOKE. The woman who ordered after me got hers before me and then I got my tomatoes… and I said ok so the calamari??? and they quickly cut battered and fried those too. All this time I see a «health inspector» right behind them talking to them, no hairnets and lots of brow wiping. Hear lots of complainaing and rude things being said about each other on the staff… not cool. They may have been organized but they should have prepped all of the food(cut up) and had it in serving portions ready to be battered and fried. Someone other than the fry cook could have been assembling the plates so that once they were done cooking they could have gone straight to the customer. but no. And the mayo scooper they used for sandwiches was placed int he bowl of ice water that the tub was sitting in itself. Any germs from the tub will be in the ice and therefore on the scooper… Why didnt the health inspector see that? Ok so finally I have my calamari and fries($ 8 a steak of squid cut up and lots of fries) and tomatoes(4 slices for $ 4) and I’m already irritated from having waited. I sit down and cut off a little piece of the calamari. insert. and. um, NO flavor! wtf! I expect that for food to taste good it shouldnt need any sauces or seasonings added once it’s given to me. Even adding salt or tartar sauce didn’t do anything for it. All the waiting and the food was BS. The tomatoes needed salt also. I think they need to realize that breading can include seasonings… how boring. I haven’t visited thier establishment and I never will.

I too was at the Blackberry Festival. I was so excited to see Calamari on the menu and the $ 8 price tag didn’t daunt me one bit. After Ms. Brianna ordered the Calamari, I saw the fried tomatoes on the menu and just had to have some. So, Ms. Brianna went back inline to order them. Well 15 minutes later, we are sitting at the table waiting… while we wait, the couple across from us have two huge plates of fish and chips. And they are barely touched. The lady says that the fish had no flavor, but she has cancer, so maybe her tastebuds are off. The man next to her throws away his full plate, and says that it was bland. I wanted to cancel my order, but thought it was too late. I later found out that we could have asked for our money back. The food arrived about 25 minutes after it was ordered, and it looked yummy. But, alas my table mates had it spot on. It was just as bland as it could be. I tried salt. It didn’t help. I tried giving my tomato to my niece, she’s a vegetarian, she said it was bland and yuccky. She headed off to get a burrito. I should have went with her. I did end up with a really good blueberry shake! But it was at another stand. 50% of my calamari — into the trash 100% of my fries — into the trash 25% of my tomatoes — into the trash ’nuff said!
