I just moved to Grants Pass from Silicon Valley and have been treated at some very fine facilities, Stanford Hospital included. Yesterday I was completely blown away by the care that I received at the Asante Outpatient Center for a routine endoscopy. First off, the facility is brand new and very state of the art. Each patient«pod» had a privacy door, a comfortable chair for a visitor, flat screen TV and very modern tech all throughout, including a hose you could put in bed with you that blew heat. The facility was great, but even better was the entire staff. Let me tell you from my initial contact at the front desk to the person who walked me out the front door when I left my experience was phenomenal! I know this might sound trite, but these people care! I was greeted by name when I first arrived and walked back to my pod. Once I got into my gown and settled in there were at least 5 different nurses that I interacted with for various things, each seemed to have a specialty and they were all very pleasant, personable, knowledgeable and concerned about my well being. It occurred to me that these nurses have to have medical knowledge, computer knowledge and customer service skills all wrapped into one, and the staff at the Asante Out Patient Center embody all of it! I’ve noticed in general that there is almost no such thing as good customer service these days, and so I’ve lowered my expectations to just hope for acceptable customer service. But the treatment that I received at this health center overly exceeded my expectations and restored my opinion that people can and do care!
