I admit, I am one of those people who gets in the car turns the key and goes; I sometimes forget to check that little gage that tells you if you have enough fuel to go. These happened to me the other day and Step N Go saved my ass and perhaps my life. The other day while driving home from work a cute little light came on my dash board that resemble a fuel pump at a gas station. WTF, I was only two bars above the E and I needed gas. What am I going to do? I was on Route 3 and I knew of no gas station until I crossed McKinley Bridge back in to the city. I knew of two dead bodies they had found between the bridge and where I was, and I did not want to be the third. Running out of gas and walking that neighborhood was not in my plans. Then out of the corner of my eye I saw a Phillips 66 sign up in the sky. I quickly made a left turn and arrived at Step N Go. Sigh of relief. Gas prices were your typical Illinois high price, but I bought just enough to get me back to MO where the gas prices are more affordable. While pumping my gas I noticed a banner that they sold a $ 175,000 Lotto ticket, so I thought what the hell I’ll buy a ticket. I didn’t win $ 175,000, but the scratchers and other tickets have kept paying for themselves and keep me coming back for at least the lottery. For a convenience market, I was surprised how extensive and well merchandised their wine selection is. Staff is friendly, good eye candy and drive a nice Lexus. Who knew working at a gas station and convenience mart paid so well.
