They refuse to ship to Alaska and claim their ‘shipping’ system gives the wrong price up to double, after they have finished?! They say they lose money on shipping to Alaska. I have shipped over 11 years professionally and NEVER have had UPS, FEDEX, nor the POSTAL SERVICE come back and say pay more, or charge MORE after going through their shipping programs and paying. This is world wide. What rubbish. This place needs a new manager and shipper. This is beyond ignorance.
They say they provide ‘expert’ advice, on what? certainly not to people in Alaska or Hawaii.
If you use the ship it programs & online sites for UPS, Fedex and/​or USPS, you can’t screw it up. Either the item is going to the address you enter, or it is not. It takes a 5^th grade intelligence level to go through these programs and this hardware store is telling me the can’t figure it out!!! You don’t need to be an expert to do this.

False advertising! Just ordered a snow sled for my son at a great price. However, the next day they send an email saying, «So sorry, but the price you paid was incorrect. We are canceling your order and you can buy it at the new price (which was $ 34 more!!)». Wished I would have read the other Unilocal reviews before purchasing from them. Of course I will never do it again. The other reviews are spot on too! «incompetence», «horrible», etc. are some of the other review descriptions. Tonya Scott is the one who sent me the email, just as another reviewer mentioned. Good luck Tonya! You are famous!

I ordered some decorations from Midland Hardware and discovered one of my items was broken. When I wrote them of my misfortune, the company got back to me almost instantly. They went above and beyond in assistance to fix my situation. The company ultimately sent me a replacement and did not hassle me with having to return the broken item. In my book this kind of customer service is a true rarity and I intend to do more business with them in the future, I highly recommend purchasing from Midland as their customer service assures you of a great experience.

Beware, buyer beware. I phone ordered and they charged my credit card immediately for an item they didn’t have in stock and probably will not get again. Got my full refund 1 week later. And yes, they’re still advertising the item they do not & probably will not get again on the internet at a low enough price to attract Buyers. Initially I thought they were crooker, now I believe they’re just one more small business trying as best they can to eek out a living in our too fast moving world.

DO NOT BUY from this company if you are not certain you will keep the product. They have a 30 day return policy and will not make exceptions. I have an unopened box that I need to return and they would not take it back. I wish I had read the reviews on here before I placed my order. Thumbs down!

I went in because of an ad. It felt like I was in some apocalyptic movie. The store is small & stuffy. The merchandise was dirty like nobody had been in there for years. After I found what I was looking for I finally saw somebody who works there. I asked about an air conditioner that I noticed and this employee acted like he had a lobotomy that morning! Completely worthless! I decided I would grab my $ 2 item and never return again. The zombies have already been there and eaten all the brains of the operation.

I hope that people who read reviews know to take the bad ones with a grain of salt. Not all reviews are 100% accurate. Call the company and ask about a bad review that has you worried. A good company will explain their side and you can make a decision based on both sides. I did.

HORRIBLE! By far the worst hardware store experience I’ve had. Shop at Lowes or Home Depot but NOT these unprofessional and rude people. I bought a lock from them on the their website. The picture was brushed nickle. It arrived as a cheap looking bronze color. They said I had to pay to ship it back and I would be charged 15% restocking fee. Tonya Scott was particularly rude and unhelpful. If you want to have a terrible, over-​priced experience, shop them. If you want good service and better prices, shop anywhere else.

I ordered products via the internet from Midland Hardware for Christmas gifts. Everything was delivered on time and in great condition. I had a couple of questions after my order was completed and my questions were answered quickly and courteously. I will use them again and recommend them.

I bought some porch rocking chairs from Midland. They were not very good quality. Midland did everything they could to make the situation right for me. They offered full refunds, returns, partial refunds where I kept the chairs, etc. They bent over backwards to make my experience with them as favorable as possible. I wouldn’t recomend the chairs (which they have taken off their website due to my complaints) but i would thoroughly endorse Midland hardware. They are a very fair company that stands behind what they sell!

I ordered some hanging basket replacement liners. 2 business days later they sent an email notifing me that one of the items I ordered was canceled and offered a replacement. They also mentioned that the replacement might have a price difference and I would have to pay the difference. I’m not sure why they couldn’t look that up and let me know in the original email. It took me all of about 10 seconds to go their web site, punch in the item number and see that it was 7 cents cheaper. Regardless, I called and let them know to go ahead and replace it and ask them to expedite the shippinfg to make up for the time missed due to poor inventory control on their end. They said there was «No Way» they could do that.
Your mistake Midland not mine. I had to spend extra time sorting it out. Additionally, you should have spent a few extra $ to get my order to me when I needed it. Instead I have to eat the delay. Whatever. So, here you go Midland… A below average review for your below average customer service.

. When I placed my order for two a green stripped dog beds. The order confirmation clearly showed that two green stripped dog beds were shipping. When I received my order, not only were the dog beds not green stripped, one was the wrong color. Reviewing their corporate website by the item number and ID it clearly states «PetMate Pet Bed, GREEN STRIPPED, 27×26». The blue one had numerous marks and what I am hoping was a just a water stain. I called and later e-​mailed the company requesting an exchange or refund. I was told that it would be a 15% restocking fee to exchange the bed and that there was no guarantee that I would get a green one.
There is a small «disclaimer» stating *some colors shown below may not be available*. There are no other colors shown below! They provide no indication that they will randomly ship whatever color they want.
The cost of returning the bed, the duplicate shipping fees and a 15% restocking fee is nearly the equilivant of price of the dirty, stained, wrong colored dog bed they shipped.
Complete Customer Service FAIL. Too bad Unilocal does not allow zero stars.

I received a defective product but they sent me a new one right away, even before I sent the old one, excellent customer service.

Ordered two bags of fertilizer on Saturday evening. Received a confirmation email immediately, one update email on Monday, shipped email on Wednesday, and delivered on Thursday. That’s about as good as an online transaction gets.

Not the best customer service. I ordered 3 pots from their website, 2 of which came to me completely broken. I reported the problem and modified my order slightly, exchanging one of the more expensive pots with a less expensive pot. I asked them to refund me the difference. This was done, but for some reason the refund is coming up short. The representative keeps trying to explain this to me, but it does not make sense. I am ordering goods for a lesser amount, but I am getting back less money. This will be my last purchase from Midland.

I ordered a mailbox from Midland Hardware on July 26^th, five days ago. Today I received a package from them and was excited to put up the new mailbox. Inside the box was not my mailbox, but an insect mesh grow tunnel. I was extremely disappointed. I called to resolve this situation and Midland Hardware customer service was not sure what to do, so they called me back. When they called me back they decided to have me ship this grow tunnel to another customer that had received my mailbox and that customer to ship the mailbox to me. There will be no refund of shipping because they claim, «that would be done if it was clearly our mistake but it wasn’t.» Well it seems as though I ordered a mailbox and got a mesh tunnel and that is certainly not my mistake.
When I expressed disappointment with no consideration of shipping refund (it is going to be a while before I actually get my mailbox and an inconvenience to ship the tunnel to the correct customer). I am extremely disappointed with this transaction, my first with your company.
I do not EVER plan to take my business to your company again, and I urge others to take their business to another store with more reliable service and kinder customer service. Very disappointing, I try to shop smaller businesses whenever possible but this time it did not work out.
Additionally, when I asked to talk to a manager or the customer service representative’s boss, she said she did not have a boss. Eventually she realized she did have a boss and the manager called me back and did refund my shipping. What a headache.
