The Pump House Frozen Yogurt Bar

By far the most toppings I’ve seen at any fro-​yo bar which makes for great variety. They have freshly made waffle bowls which are amazing. The pricing seems about the same as most other places. My one regret is not tasting the yogurt before picking a flavor. They have small cups so you can sample. Be sure to do that!!! I got the white chocolate which I normally love from our local fro-​yo shop… it was disgusting here!!! So I wasted $ 7 on something I hated but lesson learned. I still gave this place 4 stars because my daughter got the strawberry and it was great. It feels very crowded inside so we took ours to go. Overall still amazed at the number of toppings and huge variety!

Found this place as we were eating at a place near by. Thought that it would be a good place to check out since I am a fan of Froyo!
This place is really neat. I have never seen a place that offers so many toppings. They have the machines on the wall just like every other place that I have been to. In the center is a large island that has everything from fruit, to brownies, to candies, to pretty much whatever you could think to put on top of your froyo.
The décor of the place is very rustic which gives it a unique vibe vs places like Orange Leaf that are very commercial and the same.
The flavors they offer are different and some that I have not seen before. I had the Oreo milkshake and it was pretty epic. The price is in line with other places and based on the weight of your order. It’s overall a great place to check out if you are in the area!

They always have the best flavors here! Toppings are awesome and the people that work here are super chillin. They label which flavors are GF, low fat, non fat, dairy free, etc.

Though I am a die-​hard TCBY fanatic, I’ve gotta admit, The Pump House kills them in all the options of yogurt flavors and toppings. And the spoons change color when they’re cold/​warm! However, The Pump House only gets four stars because I didn’t think the yogurt was as flavorful as it could have been, however, my friend (who got a different flavor) loved hers, so perhaps it was just my choice of yogurt.

LOVE this place! I have had self-​serve yogurt in many cities across the US, and this is one of the best yogurt places I’ve ever been to. My husband thinks I’m an ice cream snob, so I guess I have some clout!
Everytime I walk into the Pump House, it’s clean, stocked, and packed with kids, families, and couples coming from dinner nearby or a movie. We live about 15 minutes away, and I made my husband (he was happy to join) drive me here on a Friday night to quench my yogurt craving! The best part is that they have small paper tasting cups, so that you can try a few flavors before you load up your bowl. I usually taste about 3 yogurts before I make my important decision. They have 14 different flavors with an additional 7 flavors if you swirl 2 together. The yogurt is very creamy and has cultures in it (think good for your GI tract)! Some places have odd flavors that are icy, but these are not! They have TONS of toppings in the self serve buffet, about 96 actually –anything from candy to cereal to the usual nuts, cherries, and fruit. They have an area in the back of the store with the sauces (think hot fudge, caramel, strawberry, butterscotch, etc) and whipped cream!!!
I always get extra yogurt cause my husband claims he doesn’t want any, but ends up eating half of mine! So we end up spending about $ 6 – 6.50 for the both of us. This go around, we got a swirl of white chocolate mousse (my favorite flavor!), peanut butter, mocha, and oreo/​mint mix! I topped it off with 2 cherries, some roasted pecans, and fresh whipped cream! They didn’t have gummy bears! We sat on one of the two bench swings that are next to the windows. There are also a few tables with chairs on one side of the topping buffet as well as some high stools near the swings. The staff is always nice, and they showed me how to sign up for a belly card that gives me 5 points every time I go! I’m sure that I’ll be racking up points here!

Love the variety of choices and that they are labeled gluten free. The only bad thing is that my eyes are usually bigger then my tummy and I get a ton of yummy frozen yogurt. Love the sample cups!

I am obsessed with the create-​your-​own froyo places and this one gets extra points for the huge variety of toppings and the CAKE BATTER flavored froyo that I haven’t really seen anywhere else.
There’s something I didn’t like about the layout inside. Like maybe they have too much furniture or they should move the toppings to a different area? It seemed really crowded — everyone was kind of tripping over each other and bumping into each other, even when it wasn’t all that busy. I couldn’t wait to get out of there! They do have outdoor seating for those who feel claustrophobic inside! :)

This place has a fun atmosphere with the buzz of people and fun seating arrangements. My kids are always thrilled to see the swings are open.
The product is good and fresh and the staff is very helpful. I like that they have different size cups and the option to use a blender to mix a flurry or shake.
Not only do they have a GIANT topping bar but a ton of yogurt choices to pick from
My biggest downside is parking is a monster in that area on a typical busy night.

We really enjoyed The Pump House. They had a great selection of yogurts and toppings, with updates to their Facebook page with the current flavors. The service was helpful, which I appreciated since the place was packed. And we got color-​changing spoons!

This place is great.
Very clean, many, MANY topping options. The staff has always been friendly. They have free stickers for kids and 2 big porch swings that kids can sit on.
I don’t remember exactly but I think the price was either $.42/​ounce or $.48/​ounce.
You can park in the front or there is a big parking lot in the back and there is a back entrance.
We’ve been a few times and will be back again!

Best frozen yogurt spot in Grand Rapids! The Pump House not only has the biggest selection of frozen yogurt, they also have the best selection of frozen yogurt. Moreover, the Pump House also has the largest variety of toppings.
All that would be enough to make this place the best, but the Pump House has so much more to offer. The location is inviting and is a great place to hangout whether you’re there with family, friends or on a date. You can spend your time enjoying great frozen yogurt and playing board games or coloring lunch bags for a children’s charity.

As the yogurt scene in Grand Rapids continues to get more and more crowded, businesses need ways to stand out. The Pump House went for a few unique angles; they have porch swings inside that are admittedly charming and they chose a name that could easily be confused for a fantastic gay bar.
The selection stands out as well. Lots of topping and lots of flavors (12?)…way more than my home base: Spoonlickers. However on this occasion the rotating taps just didnt have much going on, lots of selection but nothing too great (exception: moonpie) …sort of like late night TV. But we probably just hit it on an off day.
Overall the place deserves to be in the upper echelon of the yogurt elite. Above average ambience, toppings, and selection. You should stop by.

Why oh why didn’t I think up this idea? Have a huge selection of froyo and an even bigger selection of various toppings like fruit, candies and sauces, let folks serve themselves whatever and how much they want of said toppings and then sell based on weight. Fearlessly located directly across from Cold Stone Creamery, this place knows it’s the next big thing.
Add that the people are friendly, it’s extremely kid-​friendly, is conveniently located with additional parking out back, and has a cool, vintage vibe thing going on and there’s literally nothing to dislike. Heck yeah, 5-​stars!

We never used to go to dessert places very often, but we end up at the pump house once a week at least. Great selection of yogurts (love the salted caramel), a dairy free option for the lactose intolerant and amazing topic selection.
Go try it; you’ll end up there all the time too…

Such a great place! I love their vintage style and the giant swings. The frozen yogurt is DELICIOUS.

Love the Pump House! The décor is great and the froyo is awesome! The best froyo in town! All the flavors are yummy and the toppings are endless and some are even unconventional. The porch swings inside are great and the modern old school retro vibe is super cool.
Check it out! I know you will love it more than all the others.

Great yogurt. If you’ve been to a number of these new frozen yogurt places, you will be very pleased when you see the number of flavors they have on tap. Samples are self-​serve (the way they should be) and everything I tried tastes great.
Also, they’ve got two huge porch swings inside overlooking the street. It’s great, get great yogurt and people watch in a swing for the next 30 minutes. Wonderful!!!

I’ve never been to a frozen yogurt bar this good. They had 21 yogurts and about 30 toppings to choose from. They even had mango and strawberry boba.
Don’t be fat and go to the Coldstone Ice Cream across the street, go here and have a healthy dessert option after a movie.
